oyibo4real: I landed on 13th and had similar experience cos its same flight, same take off and landing time, same documents was asked at the Lufthansa check in counter, almost same everything...
However, at POE(Toronto), they asked for: Name of school Name of program and if its coop Tuition payment receipt(which I printed but didnt know how it disappeared. Showed them the soft copy in my phone) Consent letter from spouse(for my son) That's all.
I was given 3 docs...2 study permits and my work permit. He also advised me not to work more than 20hrs per week and to abide by the rules of the docs given to me.
Today would be my 3rd night of quarantine, so I'll zoom off tomorrow. Confirmed hotel booking price was $1018 but I got there to meet $904 and I gladly paid . Am using Crowne Plaza hotel, toronto.
These indians are stubborn oo, they're still travelling despite the ban. I saw more than 20 of them detained at the POE and the officers were asking them why they disobeyed the rule and some of them didnt even come with their covid test result. Shaa, las las, they were called for their docs.
This is all for now... Canada will favour you.... Congratulations |

Ijeanwuli: LANDING GIST
Nigeria to Toronto Canada Airline: Lufthansa and Air Canada
Important thing to note: Carry your fav snacks in your hand luggage, you may not like the food at all. They served vegetarian pasta on both flights
*Checkin -Nigeria* Study permit Flight ticket Arrive can 3 day hotel booking Enrollment letter (heard they won't let you checkin without it even though its not a requirement on the Canadian govt website.)
*Frankfurt* No document asked They just reprinted my boarding pass and that was it
*Toronto* Letter of acceptance Tuition payment I was not asked anything about enrollment in Toronto. So it means its the Nigerian airport carrying it on their head for whatever reason.
My flight landed Toronto around Noon on the 14th. The airport was very quick. Went through the customs border and immigration in less than 15 minutes.
*Questions asked* Name of school Why I chose my school Who is sponsoring me They asked if I would be paying my sponsor back .. I said no and they asked why .. I said because she's my senior sister and that's how family supports each other. The officer asked me where my sponsor works and then issued my study permit.
Wishing everyone good luck Congratulations.... Canada will favour you. |

Anon123: 1) if you apply for a masters in Computer science, I do not beleive you will be admitted because you dont have the prerequisite courses needed to admit you into a masters program in computer science even if you have the experience but if you go for a pgd and you have the experience, you have a chance cos they consider your cv more a times but its a 50/50 situation. Again I will humbly suggest you go for a pgd or masters related to maritime because you will need to convince a visa officer that you have a career progression and academic progression.
2) do you have evidence you were waived English proficiency? If yes, you can attach it along witj English proficiency from your school in Nigeria. Mind you, NBS is optional meaning you mustn't submit ielts if you dont want to. Please, if I have to address my bank reference to IRCC, which address am I supposed to use, or should it be address to the Deputy High Commission? Please assist with address. |

phummy1821: Congratulations to you and your family![q1uote author=gugu40 post=101571624]Hello everyone. I have come to give thanks to God ooo!!!!! He deserves all the praise.
Just got the family ppr and visa (SOWP and 2 Study permit for the kids)
Special Thanks to all those that still keep this thread alive, A big thanks to @Frankrobbn1, @Justmellow, @justwise and @Akannitommy for the advice for my wife’s study visa application and my family’s visa application.
My wife got her study permit approved in November 2020 but she is still studying online here, waiting for the family to get our visa.
Na God ooooo, I want to use this platform take encourage people ooo. Age no be criteria to get study permit or SOWP because I and my wife don old ooo. We are over 40 and this na her third masters ooo.(She had done two Masters before). God can do it for anybody. Thanks.
Here’s my wife’s timeline :
Application: July 22 Biometrics request – July 23 Biometrics done – July 29 Medical Request: July 23 Medicals done – July 31 Medical Passed: August 1 BVL / Passport request: October 21 Passport submission: October 25 (Sent by Post) Passport posted back: 1st November
Family timeline 1
First Application(SOWP and 2 Study permit for 5 and 10 years old):
Application: November 15 Biometrics request for spouse – November 18 Biometrics done for spouse– November 25 Refusal for family– January 11
Refusal reasons:
1. based on travel history 2. based on my immigration status here 3. based on my family ties in Canada and in my country of residence.
I tried to get the GCMS notes from one of the online agents so as to get a better understanding on why we were refused but as fate would have it the agent sent me a mail that my order was delayed that IRCC sought an extension of 90 days beyond the statutory time limit of 30 days to process the request. This means it will take a total of 120 days.
Special Thanks again to @Frankrobbn1, @Justmellow, @justwise and @Akannitommy and other GURU’s for the advice they give on this platform God go bless una. Thanks. It ended in Praise. Congratulations to you and your family |

honeycandy: Hello everyone,
I have a challenge. I hope someone can advise me. I got admission into Conestoga College and have paid the initial deposit since on the 6th of April using CIBC payment option via Form A, I got notification that payment has been received on the 9th of April. Now the issue is Conestoga college is yet to acknowledge payment. I received a mail from them saying my acceptance has been closed because I didn't make initial payment. I sent them a mail earlier and only received an auto-generated e-mail. What can I do? Can someone please advise. Firstly, call them on the phone and tell them that payment was made prior to deadline, however, the transmission was a day or two and you have receipt for confirmation from the bank, so they should confirm from their own end. Explain that you got a mail about your acceptance being closed, it can be resolved once payment is confirmed. Also, do them another mail with receipt and confirmation of payment, you will be reached out to irrespective of the automated email. All the best. |

afrischolars1: Yes. The other way is to wait for a s.40 procedural fairness letter from IRCC, followed by a 5yrs ban. That's not true, he could get the erroneous mistake corrected by sending LOE via web form. Also, alerting the other embassies through email, he would get an acknowledgement from one or two of them. His profile will likewise be update with the new information. Someone here was in a similar situation and resolved it without application withdrawal. |

olasubomy: Chief, my understanding is that your visa has been approved. I am not sure you should be worried about medicals anymore.
Other honourable members can weigh in on this. He need to be, he cannot come into Canada with an expired medical status, he is expected to still have a medical certified status when entering. Besides, his medicals would have expired by the time he travels irrespective of a valid visa or not. What he can mist like do is fast forward his travel date by changing the date on his ticket, and enter Canada before the medical status expires. All the best. |

wealth360: Please Gurus in the house, I kept seeing NSE application. Can anyone inform me about this NSE stuff? What's it about? Doesn't it mean prospective students cannot apply through CIC website again?
Thanks The NSE is Nigeria Student Express, it does treat applications after it has been submitted via the CIC site. NSE send request to applicants to provide a MBS account and IELTS result within the 30 days period. Applicants who submit their requirements get their application processed via the NSE route which initially had a processing frame of 20 days, however, it processing time seems to have increased. The request dies specify and instructs on what to provide, the least POF in the account should be $30,000 Cad, and a minimum of 6 in all ielts band. For applicants who do not received such request or do not have the requirements will respond to have their applications processed via normal route (CIC) which is processed in the CIC timeframe of about 20 weeks. So to your question, you still have to apply via CIC. All the best....I am not a guru, wait while other guru responds. It will end in praise. |
