Rani001: What if lump sum is consistent due to the nature of one's business and there steady outflow too as per that is used to clear bills Consistency is good, it shows it is a transactional account and prrhapd for business. If not consistent that an issue, frowned at by VOs, which put them at a dilemma. |

Cflow10: Please did you send it via web form? cause I sent mine and didn’t get a response It took 3 weeks to get an acknowledgement from them the last time I updated my application providing an additional document. I stated this sometime ago, if your application is within processing time, you did be lucky to get an acknowledgement which was my case. Stay put, have faith, your application I'd been worked on, it will end in praise |

Residentourist: LONG POST ALERT!!!
As is often reiterated in this platform, no two applications is the same. A BIG THANK YOU to all those who keep providing valuable information and offering guidance here. God bless and keep you.
Timeline: 1st application 2016 Applied for PGD in HRM to Georgian College Refused on basis of; # Home ties (I applied for visitors visa for my husband and first child, my other two are US citizens) # Finanicial bla bla bla (VO wasn't convinced the course was a reasonable expense, no career progression and he claimed there was a bulk cash lodgement into the account, which unfortunately wasn't true)
2nd application 2020 Applied for MHRM in University of Regina Refused primarily because I wasn't "totally truthful" in my application. I had clicked yes on the previous refusal of visas but unfortunately it was only the details of my previous study permit application I dwelt on. Other excuses about section R216 ie not leaving Canada were mentioned in the rejection but my GCMS highlighted that the VO's main concern was the non-declaration of the US visa refusal.
3rd Application -7th March, 2021 NSE request - 12th March, 2021 NSE submission- 3rd April, 2021 L,R,W,S were 9,9,7.5,7.5 respectively (screenshot was uploaded since hard copy hadn't been received) 11th April,2021 hard copy was scanned and sent via webform 14th April, 2021 NSE documents were acknowledged. Eligibility review commenced. April 30th, 2021 Upfront medicals May 19th, 2021 Medical report updated to passed June 1st, 2021 webform informing IRCC of admission extension/deferral June 4th, 2021 acknowledgement email of mail sent. June 9th, 2021 correspondence letter and original passport request
DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED All relevant IMM forms Admission letter
PROOF OF FUNDS Receipt of 20k CAD paid to the school Sponsor is my husband I submitted; * his employment letter, *promotion letters * payslips and a letter of introduction from his office. *Plus his bank statements and a reference letter from his bank which stated that I am a signatory to his accounts. * Pension accounts statements * Various investments/shares documents * Title documents of properties owned (3 in total no valuation done, I only gave an estimated value of the properties) Also included were pictures of the properties.
# For myself, I only submitted my employment letter, confirmation of employment and introduction letter from my employer. I stated in my SOP that since I will not be earning an income through the duration of my studies I don't feel the need to submit my own bank details so it doesn't divert the attention ,(not stated in those exact words o)
International passports of myself, my husband and 3 kids. They serve as home ties.
I hope I haven't left anything out.
I graduated with a 2.2 in accounting and finance but got the MHRM offer through the experience route which is for people who have worked in HR for about 7years and above. I had to write a convincing letter to the graduate school and was given the grwenlight to go ahead with my application
I am 37 going on 38 in August but that didn't deter me.
Thank you so much @frankrobbn1 @justwise @lekiboboe and all the other contributors too numerous to mention. You are a blessing!!! Congratulations.... You are favoured in Canada |

ossysam1: Good afternoon Nairaland Family.
Please I would like to know if someone can apply for study permit (PGD) without part payment of school fees. In other words, is part payment of school fees compulsory before submitting application.
Please note; the school has already sent a conditional offer of admission. Below is the content of the letter;
"Dear ......
This letter confirms that you met the provisional admission offer for the post degree in ......offered at the unversity of winnipeg ...
Met Admission requirement form - use this document for your application to IRCC for a study permit. Pleas consult with IRCC to determine if you can apply for a study permit with a provisional letter, or you should wait until you receive an unconditional offer"
Thank you. Does you studies make it compulsory, if it doesn't, it is not a must you pay a part before submission of application, however, you can explain this in you SOP, and also show the fund in your account. All the best. |

Spectro: I got a refusal though, for home ties both in Canada and Nigeria. Apparently, my ties in Canada are way more than those in Nigeria. I will order GCMS note. I may reapply or opt for the US. But US is priority right now.
I wish you all a delightful outcome in your applications. We learn every day, and some experiences are worthwhile, even though they are a bit sad. But we move!
I applied on March 11 by the way.
March folks will be getting decisions. Stay blessed. It's sad that you got refused. You are a free spirited person and look at things with a different perspective. Do not get discouraged, order your gcms and reapply if that's where you priority lies. I wish you all the best.....it will end in praise. |

My documents are more than 4mb even after compressing it. You scan all the pages, they are relevant to your application, winch was why you are adding it. Search on google PDF compressor which can be done online to the spirit size of 4mb. |

pale232: Hi Everyone,
My application was also refused based on personal assets and financial status. Tbh, my application was quite shoddy (Submitted very basic documents). It was months after applying I got to know of Nairaland and sincerely I commend everyone's effort for the input ( The info put out here is amazing). I have learnt a lot which will be applied in my next application. I am self sponsored. I submitted my usd dollar account with lump payments in 2 tranches without any explanation.
I didn't also attach my salary account since there was no fund it which I realised I should have done now and not enough evidence i was gainfully employed. I just submitted basic documents(mbs, b.sc cert, transcripts,c.v and previous visas to various countries; realising based on this thread that won't influence the decision) Although I tried salvaging my application after already 5 weeks off showing eligibility required by sending a webform with a more detailed LOE and additional documents. Thanks to Shupy for responding to my enquiries.
I got my refusal letter 2 weeks later. I have ordered for my gcms notes, trying to wait patiently for it. My admission was for fall 2021 but will have to defer till January 2022. P.s I submitted in March, NSE route. It is sad that you got refused, as you have learnt over the last few months, what you should have done was request for your gcms note to see activities going on with your application. Applicants convincing strength differs, irrespective of documents provided, do not get discouraged, provide them with complete and necessary documents that will help your application. From you gcms, you will know how to address concerns. I wish you success in your reapplication. |

folla: Praise God!!!!
Hi Everyone,
I have been a silent reader all along and this post is on behalf of my wife.
She applied for Canadian study visa on 18/02/2021 and since then the waiting game started. This morning, she opened her mail and coincidentally, 2 emails dropped from IRCC within the space of about 3 minutes. Could it be the good news we all have been waiting for? The emails stated that there were messages to be checked in the profile.
We summoned the courage to check her profile and lo and behold, it was an approval! Both PPR and BvL came at about the same time. We thank God Almighty for the success.
A lot happened in-between the time of the application and PPR. She had sent several webforms seeking to know status of the application. IRCC always responded with the generic emails, starting with "under active review" and then later to "in process". Yet we kept faith alive. She also had to migrate her international passport into a new one, just because her old passport would expire early next year, whereas she will be going for a 2-year program. When she obtained the new passport (this process took about 6 weeks), she notified IRCC by webform. She had to also defer her admission from Summer to Fall of 2021 and she notified IRCC by webform.
Her timeline is as follows:
- Upfront Medical: 7/12/2020 at QLife - Applied: 18/02/2021 - Biometrics Request: 19/02/2021 - Biometrics done: 24/02/2021 - Medical Updated to Passed: 26/02/2021 -PPR and BvL: 3/06/2021
Her supporting documents are as follows:
Academic qualifications:
1) Offer and Letter of Admission for MSc Program at TRU, Canada. 2) Transcripts for 1st degree in Nigeria 3) Transcripts for 2nd degree in Nigeria 4) IELTS Result 5) WAEC Result 6) 6-page SOP 7) Certificate of Being on Dean's Honour's Rolls at undergraduate level
Employment:
1) Offer of Employment Letter. She works in a bank. 2) Reference Letter from Employer 3) Employment ID Card 4) Payslips for 6 months 5) Resume
Financial qualifications:
1) MyBank Statement from her for 1 year 2) MyBank Statement from husband for 1 year 3) Affidavit of Sponsorship from husband 4) Notarised Letter of Sponsorship from husband 5) Statement of Account of her Retirement Savings Account (RSA) 6) Funding Letter from her supervisors, to the tune of CA$20,000.00 7) Evidence of payment for a semester (CA$6,000)
Home Ties:
1) Birth Certificates of husband and the children; 2) Marriage Certificate 3) Business Name Registration Certificate of Husband's firm 4) Husband’s Offer of Employment Letter 5) Birth Certificates of my parents; 6) Offer of Employment Letter from Employer; 7) Statement of Account of Contributory Pension;
Statement of Account of Life Insurance Policy; 9) Land Purchase Agreement in respect of a plot of land; 10) Land Purchase Agreement in respect of plots of land; 11) Land Purchase Agreement in respect of plots of land; 12) Vehicle particulars of a car. 13) Membership Certificate of CIPM 14) Membership Certificate of Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria.
Other Documents:
1) Completed and signed IMM1294E and IMM5645E forms. 2) Police Character Certificate 3) Data page of International Passport 4) Passport photograph 5) Birth Certificate 6) NYSC Certificate
She is 39 years old and has 3 kids between 6-10. She was very anxious because of her age and also because she is seeking for a 2nd masters program. We weren't sure what IRCC would say to these.
The kids did not apply with her. They will apply for study permits as soon as her PP is stamped. I hope I am not leaving out any important info.
Nairaland has been a blessing to me and my family. Many thanks for the selfless service rendered by all the gurus on this thread. These efforts will return to you in blessings. I wish all study visa hopefuls, success. We shall all be congratulated at the end. The journey was tortuous, but she could not have given up. Please don't give up!
I do hope that this post has given fresh hope to someone on the journey. That is the essence.
With God all things are possible!!! Congratulations..... It has ended in praise. |

By now, I had deferred my Winter admission to Spring. I believed that the approval will come by then.
April 2021- Still nothing
Deferral to Winter 2022 term application submitted May 18, 2021
BVL May 19, 2021 PPR May 19, 2021
It took almost 8 months. I believed that I would get it, I just didn't know when. I sent emails and raised webforms but I don't know if they made any real difference.
I sent my passport and other documents to VFS Abuja 21st May and I got it back 31st May. That's less than 2 weeks.
I am very happy and grateful.
If you know anyone in Conestoga College willing to help an incoming student with settlement planning, I would appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. I have plenty questions for that person.
As we say here, It will end in praise! Congratulations.... It ended in praise |

Olafunds200: I did read the policy, did you read where u requested for deferment and I didn’t get any response from them instead they send half payment. After then time has gone, no more admission, if I was granted the visa which admission letter will I submit.. Hope you get where the problem is now? I am confused, deferment does not mean no admission, you should have waited the time out. Do them a detailed email stating that you visa application could not be completed due to their inability to provide you a place in their institution. Provide evidence that you were forced to make the decision and need to seek you educational pursuit with another credible institution, hence you want all you funds reversed. If there is additional line for phone conversation, follow up, your mail with a call. If they are insistence on their policy, ask them to provide you with admission |

Olafunds200: @justwise
So no one could answer my question? I have never asked questions here and anyone answer. Its not fair oo You have answers already. Your application was not rejected by IRCC, you withdrawing your application is different from refusal by Embassy....policy show that refusal guarantee you 100% refund, anything other than that negate refund policy...it is saddening they are holding your money, at 7 months you should have just endured. Still give it a push.... might get all back. |
