birdman:You are buttressing my point, boss. The people that have an axe to grind against harden are more focused on his off the court antics and personality rather than his play. If we were to remove all the noise and focus strictly on play off resume, CP3 should not be exonerated at all. five 2-0 leads blow, the most by any player ever. Where is the consistency in the criticism? That is all we are asking? The crazy part is asides from his early years with the bobcats. Paul has always been in teams that were at the top of the league and championship contenders, yet in the postseason, they always end up shitting the bed. Please, let's call a spade a spade and stop making excuses for this man. The manner of that loss was nothing short of pathetic. It was not a one game thing. It has become a recurring theme in his career and he deserves every critic he gets. The simple truth of the matter is that if he had a typical Chris paul game of 21 points 14 assists with maybe 12 points In the 4th quarter and a dub, we would revel in the 'Renaissance man' called Chris Paul, so now that he shat the bed, let call it as it is. |
Skrrrrrrr:It's like I have to go and bring excerpts from Pat Bev's commentary to justify his statements. On 'Get Up', he acknowledged the greatness of CP3 but said he could not guard for shit in the series and should have been benched. Did he lie? Do I need to bring clips of possession after possession with doncic and Brunson hunting for CP3? Once the Mavs figured out the whole 'switch everything' defensive scheme the suns were running, it was over. So it is below the belt to call out a player for playing like ass all series long? When they were winning did anybody criticize them? Even with the nonsense 'Luka special' comment from book and the whole 'theo pinson is a great player' backhanded compliment in game 2 from CP3. Now it's excuses, 'oh, he is 37', 'oh, what about booker', 'oh, he was injured','oh, they are kicking a black man when he is down'. Same thing every Goddam superstar in the league has faced, when e reach CP3 turn, all these mofos are saying crap. Abe make we hear word jare. Better tune in today for more truth serum from Pat Bev. |
benji93:I remember watching a young messi and telling people that when all is said and done, he would be the best to ever do it. People doubted. I can tell you've not watched this kid consistently. No worry. Him go convert all of una one by one. Make him just notch that first championship first. |
birdman:Bros, what do you mean by casual? What is the ultimate purpose of an NBA team? No be to win championships abi am I missing something? |
birdman:Egbon, let's be objective. The biggest Knock on harden who I would say is the best comp for Chris Paul is that he consistently fails to show up in the postseason. Despite the fact that this man has been a one man offensive hub for the majority of his prime and could have one 3 straight MVPs. Now, they have so much attacked harden that the criticism goes beyond his post season play; they talk about his strip club addiction, his inability to keep fit, his foul-baiting style of play. My point is this man gets the brunt of the blame every goddam year for not leading his teams to post season success. But now when it comes to CP3. Because he is friends with everyone and probably his influence amongst players as he served as the president of the NBAP association, no one wants to speak bad off him. It's almost comical. This is someone that is blasphemously called the 'point god' and the steven A's of the planet will consistently not allow us to rest by calling him TOP 5 point guards ever. At this point, I do not want to hear it. Pat Bev acknowledged that he was a great player. But the same way you guys were singing his praise when he had that perfect game against the pelicans. Keep that same energy now. Chikena! P.s Top 5 point guards better than CP3 : Magic, curry, thomas, stockton, kidd, nash |
Roland17:Oga, what are you saying? This is what exactly Pat Bev was passing across. The way you people like to protect CP3 and insulate from accountability is mind-boggling. I know the kind of insult Ben Simmons, LeBron James, Kahwi, and PG13 have received from exactly the same so-called analyst. When it comes to CP3, everybody changes their tune. He was trash throughout the series because he was the biggest liability on defense and we kept on exploiting him on mismatches. Pat Bev is preaching. If you like, compare all the stats in the world, the bottom line remains both CP3 nd Pat Bev have 0 championships. |
steady986:I love steph. But there has been a changing of the guard. Man's era is coming to a grace full end. We are entering the year of luka. |
A40:Bird won't win anything in this era today. You cannot deny that my man's wins were propelled by Celtic being far and away the most dominant team in that era. Hence the award was populated by 'best player in the best team'. I am not going to shit on larry, but if you can't see that luka is on mount rushmore trajectory barring any injury. I dont't know how much I can say to convince you again... |
steady986:Bros. You were saying? You better stop following Steven A nd skip bayless. They will.lead you down the part of unrighteousness. Luka is the truth. Once again, mavs in 6 |
Roland17:No one is hesitant. You are the one following arm chair analysts. If you actually watch games you can tell. Especially with the modern nba. Having a wing who is just a pure scorer will take you absolutely no where. F that Walmart kobe poser called book. To think he finished ahead of luka in the mvp voting is nothing but a travesty |
A40:Bird? Bird got nothing on luka. Stop the cap. Luka is miles ahead of Bird. My man's heading to LeBron and Jordans stratosphere. Stop the disrespect |
steady986:Still doubting? You folks never learn. Once they step on the hardwood, the best player in that series is luka. And he is going to cook them so bad, GSW will break the team up. Mavs in 6 |
I told you all but you failed to listen. I effing told you all. Conference finals. Pencil.it down. Mavs in 6. |
steady986:I am bookmarking this page. Coming with receipts for all of you at the end of this series. |
Android22:Well, I'll take solace in the fact that regression to the mean would also apply to luka. He has lowkey not played up to his standards with poor shooting and high turnovers. I just need one luka-esque game in game 5 then close this out with help from the others in game 6 |
Please. You guys should not jinx us. Keep is out of the spotlight and continue to bet against us. I want to hear Steven A skip bayless excuses tomorrow. Suns in 4 ko, suns in 4 ni. Book Mark this. If mavs win this series, we are winning the whole thing. Go and write it down. Shout out to nick right who has been down with luka and the mavs since day 1. |
Damn. Brunson is making me feel things i've never felt before. |
Jazz are lucky my luka is not playing. This would have been a sweep |
If only my Luka was fit. We would have swept this jazz team. |
Roland17:Bro! Be factual. Ja sold this game. Is he an all star? Yes! Is he a highlight reel? Yes! But man, his decision making was piss poor in this game and how he managed to get 30+ points (alas, free throws) was beyond me. He is not a point guard in the sense of the word, someone that orchestrates and offence. He is more in the mould of Westbrook and we know the result of having your point guard playing in that manner. |
A40:lamelo not a natural scorer? Bruh! You sabi pass this an. That he is more 'creative' in his style of play does not take away from the fact that the man can but the ball in the hoop. It's more a less a matter of time before he figures out how t balance his playmaking with scoring, but don't say he chuks the ball when edwards sef worse pass am in that regard |
I go to ESPN, those mofos are talking about a lakers team that did not even make the play in. I run to Fs1, still Shannon and skip are yapping about LeBron and the lakers. I scoot over to nairaland. Yet na LeBron and LA matter them still dey drag. Na wa o. When utah and mavs just played a well contested game. Smh. |
can you accept 250? |
Antoeni:common shut up |
Terrible humans! |

bukatyne:The bible made it very clear. "my people perish for lack of knowledge". Majority of the people participating in those challenges are blacks. As expected. It is almost like a curse. Why is the drive, the desire for knowledge, growth and self-improvement absent in the average black man? Like you said, until you are opportune to walk amongst those one percenters and see things from the other side, the limitation of your imagination, and their non-existent understanding of how the world works would ensure they remain pawns in this game of life. Let them continue. |
When Charles Darwin proposed the theory of natural selection in his book, On the origin of species. It was a landmark moment in history. That singular book changed our understanding of not only human biology and evolution as a whole but also how the environment over the ages has fought to preserve itself from the meddling animals (of which we are included). Granted, that was not the key point of the book but, I consider myself well-read enough to postulate my theories and draw my conclusions. To summarize his theory, there are traits that various species possess that enable them to adapt and survive in their environment. These traits are passed down from generation to generation and, before long, a new species with these dominant traits is formed. Now you might wonder what is the point of this biology lecture. Well, my pen has been brimming with venom over the past couple of months while I was on a self-imposed hiatus. My shrink (which is me, in the mirror) warned that I was well on the path to becoming a bitter old man who whines about everything. I advised me to change my ways. Enjoy life, bask in the simplicity and silliness of it. And that is what I’ve been trying to do. Enjoy life and bask in its inherent silliness. At least until the #cratechallenge came along. So here I am, fully relapsed into vitriol writing mode, and I must admit, I kind of enjoy it. To the matter at hand, for those who are not familiar with what exactly the #cratechallenge is. It’s involves a person carefully navigating a stack of milk crates, trying to see if they can get across from one end to another without falling. A couple of you might have a puzzling look on your face. “Okay, so why are they doing that? What is the point?”. Well, join the queue. You are not the only one searching for answers. Surely, if we persevere and dig further, the truth must be out there! Where to even begin? Scrolling through my WhatsApp feed, I could not help but chuckle at a series of videos depicting various individuals at different stages of the challenge. Needless to say, no one completed it. The end of the videos were the best part for me. Watching these people crash spectacularly, their bodies twisted and juxtaposed in their choice of background brought a smile to my face. Play stupid games, win stupid rewards. On a more sombre note, this sheds a light on a bigger issue in the social media sphere. I am not about to go on a “social media bad” rant as that discourse would require years of research and is a topic that folks more qualified than I am have dissected in more ways than I can imagine and the views are still as polarizing than ever. But I can say this, if there’s anything social media has done, it is bringing stupidity to the forefront now more than ever. To what end is the crate challenge meant to achieve. I mean, you climb a bunch of crates, where you have a 98% chance of falling and sustaining injuries, some life-threatening. For what? It beats me honestly. I feel like the participants in these challenges are operating on a higher plane of thought, intelligence and consciousness I can only dream of attaining. There must be a derived satisfaction and sense of fulfillment that we prude humans that don’t seem to get what these challenges are all about are missing out on. Multiple challenges are bouncing around the corners of the social media world. Waiting for the perfect combination of chance and algorithm-powered feeds to push them to the front of the queue, where the ever-impressionable users can then participate in it for their daily dose of dopamine hit. From the #cratechallenge to the ‘silhouette challenge’, where one strips naked and dances to a once-beloved-now-desecrated song with only a red background preventing the complete display of nudity. Or is it the ‘Kiki challenge’ that involved participants jumping out of a moving car to do some excruciating to watch dance steps that look like a summoning ritual of 1800 Salem witches. A trip further down reveals more sinister ones like the tide pod challenge where people were eating detergents and filming themselves doing it. Detergent people! I mean, with all this happening before our very eyes, even an atheist at this point would find it hard to denounce the existence of demons. Like what in the world would make any sane, functional person consume detergents? With each passing day, it feels like we are living in a black mirror episode with another sick twist not far down the line. Unfortunately, the demographic most affected by these challenges are kids and young adults. With their brains still at a formative stage (if you are above 16 taking part in these challenges, you need to evaluate your life choices and avoid having kids for the time being); they are coerced into doing these challenges that encourage and result in self-harm. Maybe in search of a community that they can belong to, or just for the high derived from likes, hearts, reposts, and tweets. The reasons many do this might be a mystery. But I have a simple explanation. Humans, on average, are dumb. It is that simple. I can imagine an order of white knights coming to defend humans with a list of our achievements from both a technological and social-economic perspective, and I say to that, even a dead clock is right twice a day. Multiple that clock by 7 billion and you can see that the numbers are in our favor. The truth is, or my truth is, (since we are in the era of speaking your truths), we are on the upward curve in terms of how dumb and deadly these challenges are getting. It is only a matter of time before we get to the peak, where a challenge that would wipe out millions would come along. At that point, the major decision and policymakers would start running around in circles as they always do, looking for ways to mitigate the situation. It is just unfortunate that there is no cure for human stupidity. But anyhow, the natural selection process that has brought us this far has not failed us yet. In our shadow war with nature, mother earth would always protect itself. So at the end of the day, maybe the natural selection process that would solve Earth’s overpopulation process has already begun with social media being the vehicle for that change. My 2 cents? Sit back and enjoy another chapter in the never-ending play of life outlined in Darwin’s book? Survival of the fittest.
