He fought with our oba (he lost Edo south with that move).

He fought the only strong politician of pdp in Edo north (shaibu).

He betrayed the people that welcomed him to the party in PDP.

4 years now single development except mou, that would have helped him.

He brought in someone that can't even speak his language and stay outside edo state since he was Benin.

There are several other reasons why pdp will loose but this is just a tip

In time in memorial, bulk vote always come from Oredo. But major determinate in the whole process are the Esans. Considering the ruling party it is a work over for PDP... Monday from APC will give PDP a good fight but it will not win.
Asue is more popular, sound and highly intelligent

first of all I bet we can all agree Edo north is a walkover for APC? They are winning all the LGAs there, no questions about it.

Then we have edo centre, they are equally matched in that area since they are both from there but bear in mind, Monday is the first APC senator from that region so he's not a pushover, he's a grassroot politician, also he's well connected to esan land more than asue since asue can't even speaks his language, also with the facts Monday has done many projects in his region..

I will give the edge to APC there by small margin if at all..

Then the last one is Edo south, the main battle ground.

Remember the reason obaseki won against ize iyamu was due to godfatherrism chant and pity votes, remember it's no longer the same.

The deputy candidate of the APC is a rep from oredo, you know he's also not a push over.

Ize iyamu, ariaivbe, imasuen and other aggrieved pdp big wigs are working against asuen.

Also remember the palace is against obaseki and his candidate due to their utterance and behaviour against the throne?.. I don't see a single local government that pdp can win with a block votes

The reason why LP would not do well is because he came from same place as Obaseki(Benin). Edo is a different political terrain. Edos have decided that Esan should be the one to win that's more reason Shaibu was disgrace by the government (governor, judiciary and the state house of Assembly) . So it is between PDP and APC. It will be very difficult to defeat the PDP in Edo state. Asue is a very strong and intelligent candidate and got the backing.of the people. Even labour party members from Esan and Auchi are rooting for Asue because the y field a Benin man as LP candidate

The itsekiri shamelessly, settled in a part of this town and after many years went to court to fight over ownership and renamed their part to ekurede-itsekiri. They didn't even realize ekurede was a pure urhobo word- not itsekiri word. This explains the Yoruba attempted takeover of Edo by mere renaming from igodomigodo to ile binu. That doesn't change the DNA of the pure original inhabitants neither does it change their spoken language. It's just a cosmetic takeover. Nothing to brag
