They claimed he was depressed from his ordeal in the hands of Dangote; he was distracted as a result of thinking which resulted in the accident .

The whole thing looks far fetched and will not really fly .

But it can cause serious repuattional issues for Dangote’s business sha . His staff welfare will come under scrutiny
I can't say sha, especially since it's a one-sided story, can't even say for sure what could have caused him to get arrested.

BlueRayDick:
Friends and families of Dangote’s former head of security are dragging him for alleged complicity in his death in Portugal .

The Portuguese was employed as head of security on 3 year contract . At the expiration of the contract , he continued to work while waiting for the contract to be renewed. They paid him only basic salary but other benefits and bonuses that he enjoyed while he was still on contract did not come along with the basic salary .

The guy got frustrated after a year and got a job in Abuja with another company which prompted him to resign at Dangote . The HR team accepted his resignation but Dangote later called him for a meeting . It was at the meeting he was arrested and was accused of sabotage .

The whole arrest affected him psychologically but he was later released after the police found out the allegations by Dangote could not be proven . He later lost the Abuja job offer and had to relocate back to a Portugal in his depression .

The guy was knocked down by a truck while on his bike in Portugal . His lawyer friend has claimed that his work issues that drove into depression was likely responsible for his death .

Dangote Brand and communications team go really see work do o, especially this period that he is planning on expanding his refinery business to other countries .

His international lenders too will be raising serious concerns about his staff welfare going forward

At the risk of sounding like defending the suspect , I hope you know that it’s only the police that can charge him to court . And it’s only when the police charge him to court you can start talking about court appointed psychiatrist.

I don’t know what evidence the police relied on before releasing him , but I want to believe the police would at least do due diligence before releasing him .

In fact, the police has a lot to gain if they charge him to court instead of releasing him. The guy and his family are poor and have absolutely nothing to offer the police to facilitate his release on grounds of insanity . The car dealer has deeper pockets to fund police to “deal” with him .

Methinks the police just don’t want to do exercise in futility by charging an obvious insane person to court knowing he would still walk anyways .
I don't think police alone can release him, especially for a case of this nature. It has to go through the courts.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 1:46pm On Oct 16
Is it police that should be releasing someone that is culpable for millions in property damage and multiple murder?

The whole release thing sounds like Nigeria police doing their normal backyard deals.

Na Lindsay Clancy matter US still dey on, that's someone that killed her kids and attempted suicide since 2023, tons of persons are still convinced she was lucid while committing her crimes, and she couldn't get outright acquital even with confirmed medical history.

Meanwhile naija police dey release person wey allegedly don kill up to 4 persons in less than 5 days because their family produce what could very well be a dodgy medical report.

As in…..if the guy on orange vest hadn’t reacted very fast , na him dead body dem for carry commot there .

The stewpiid driver could hear the truck’s horn , yet he match throttle enter express with full speed . The person behind the camera was fooolishly asking why the truck was driving at top speed . It probably didn’t occur to him that as many as they were at the scene , nobody was even trying to warn oncoming vehicles that the sienna wants to enter fast lane
The entire thing looked like a recipe for disaster.

I almost never listen to people directing me on parking or back reverse, find I do better without their distraction, and in this guys case, with that many persons directing him at once, the outcome was expected.

Naija is a classist society. The seller should have been able to guage the person coming to buy. Unless he assumed na yahoo boy. Maybe na economy sha.
I guess people would be more circumspect going forward, at the risk of losing clients who come in casually to make these purchases.

You first paragraph is a thought the general optimistic thoughts of an average person . Of course everyone thinks and hope they don’t have to utilize their insurance. That u are making an insurance claim means an unfortunate event has happened and nobody wants or hope for that .

As per your second paragraph , ironically insurance is more expensive in the western world when compared to naija sef
Yea, most persons hope they don't encounter an unfortunate event, more reason they see a payment that invalidates that hope as an avoidable bill.

Nominally Nigerian insurance is likely cheaper, but as percentage of average income it'd be more expensive.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 4:41pm On Oct 13
I don't even think it's about the affordability or not, it's more a question of the odds of utilizing said insurance in the course of a year.

Insurance is baked into the financial system of the developed world, if it wasn't they too go dey avoid insurance like their Naija counterparts.

[quote author=BlueRayDick post=140901121]This guy went to a car dealer in VGC in Lagos posing as customer . As soon as he was handed Toyota Tundra keys , he central locked car and sped off on high speed in an attempt to steal the vehicle .

He damaged the gate of the estate, hit a security guard and allegedly damaged several vehicles while he was being chased .

The weyrey was eventually caught after crashing the vehicle ; leaving behind several cars damaged while he was being pursued .

like as the people really take their time beat the guy before police come.

She said she was been treated unfairly and needed to remarry.
It was a different era. There's a lot of things people of the odler generation did that seeing it from today's lenses would make no sense at all.

Women abandoning children to remarry or have a new lease of life was pretty common then...some of them even abandoned these kids with their husband's family.

Forgiving and moving on from things like this is more about you. You're lucky she's still alive and open to chatting with you on the situation, try and get clarity so you can come to a position that enables you move forward with minimal trauma.

Guy.. They never planned to go past Ogun state.

This whole thing had always been the plan.
Shenk the others, develop their side and keep it moving.

Like I said, let me see the stupid argument from anybody that only 1 tribe has a say in Lagos after robbing a shit load of states just to advance the state.
Fvcking bastards all of them!
Well I've never been one of those that believe any tribe has more of a say over any other tribe as regards any part of the contraption.

So long as the contraption exists, people should always feel free to exist in freedom, that's my abiding belief.

This has nothing to do with the governors.

The FG did an assessment.
The FG signed off on that project.
The FG started the project.
They finished Lagos ASAP, finished Ogun ASAP and then suddenly the FG realised that oh part of Ondo and bayelsa and delta cannot be worked on because it will cost too much money.

This is after doing an initial Comprehensive Assessment.

God will punish anybody that will tell people in the future in this forum that other people should return to their states when the benefits of this robbery starts pouring into Lagos state account.

Its the blatant way of robbery that is annoying me.
They know it simply was about the FG and Tinubu wanting and having his way...the truth can't get in the way of a sweet lie.

But then, it's something and however much stake he and his cronies would have in the completion of the "coastal road", it's something that would deliver value.

You already know the answer to this. They'd tell you that your governors are olodos, lacking in vision for their themselves and their people.

And you know what, they'd be correct. Our leaders in the South-South especially have failed to deliver governance and also failed in delivering a stake in whatever version of the contraption that exists.

Seems they underestimate the foolishness of their dutiful online slaves...they could have insisted it was a lie, and their slaves would have helped them defend the lie.

Nigerian builders are engrossed with aesthetics than functionality, including safety and privacy. They spend ridiculous amounts of money in designs but the functionality can’t honestly match an efficiency apartment here in the states.

I think I have said it before that I visited someone in Lagos and while he bragged about his house, I was already looking at 100 ways to die inside that same house, especially with little children. It did not take 2 months after my visit I was told a member of his household fell from the stairs and dislocated his elbow.
I wish this was even the case, they score poor on both counts.
