I remember one time like that prior to the world cup when Iheanacho picked up an injury.. tbaba dropped the news and the post got about 5 likes...o boy come see attack grin ..Iheanacho biggest fanboys like nerdy madam safari and even chief icon went wild grin ..They accused those who liked the post of hating on their boy and celebrating his injury cheesy ..It wasn't funny at all..

Chriskels post on Ighalo didn't get that kind of attack cus its just Ighalo.. Make we talk true many people don't like him..even after emerging as the top scorer at the qualifiers, many still don't like him .Me personally don't like him...He isn't the kind of striker that inspire confidence.. too inconsistent in the GWG..

However I assure u that the criticism he gets has nothing to do with tribalism...Nearly every player in the super eagles has gotten his own fair share of criticism here.. Chriskels even wants Osimhen to replace Ighalo.. Osimhen and Ighalo are from d same tribe..no be tribalism abeg.. na just dislike grin

Some might not like Ighalo but a lot love him. It is those who care that matters, not those who wish failure.

Somehow, I did not get the chance to respond the celebration of Ighalo's injury but it is so wrong. The idea of a player getting stretchered off should not give anyone joy.

Wish him the best.

Ighalo is one of the good guys that tries to put smiles on the faces of those who lack. Anything wrong happening to him will affect hundreds of people he cares for.

It's linked

Nacho was poor at the World Cup and the criticism was not much ,just because of ighalo miss people carry am for head like gala

Thank God you know am one of the nacho fan boys even thou I don't act like goodjoe

Why will I not call a stupid man here a tribalist ?

How can a stupid man celebrate an eagles player being injured because he don't like the player, say that person get sense ?

Are you this bias to see such ?

Make una respect una self for this thread o ,shebi some of una na elders

I have argued with so many people here ,I have my bad side also

But anybody that celebrate a super eagles player being injured is a BASTARD

If you see truth talk abeg

Please you do not need to be so abusive. Point out he is wrong and should not tow that line. Abusing does not help but make things worse.

By the way, see all footballers as your brothers. These guys are bread winners of their families and communities. Any of them injuring should not be a joy to anyone.

I wish Ighalo speedy recovery.

the miss against RSA was a crack on the camel's back...the last straw that broke the camel's back...was the miss against Man city few days ago...Even man city fans here agreed..that he should have scored that goal save for goodJoe....

Nacho should be asked to rest and watch the afcon from his house.....
he is no brainer

Players should convert penalties but still miss. As I said, Nacho went for an instinctive finish and missed. Missing is part of football and not the end of the World. Jamie Vardy has missed even better chances than those.

Finito.

Brendan Rodgers reveals his plan for Kelechi Iheanacho at Leicester City

Brendan Rodgers has revealed how he plans to develop Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho and restored his lost confidence.

The Nigeria international, who was criticised for missing a good chance late on in Monday’s defeat at Manchester City, has had a disappointing season and has only scored twice this season in 36 appearances, although the vast majority of those were as a substitute, and his last goal came in September in the win over Huddersfield Town.

Rodgers admits a loan switch so the 22-year-old can get more game time, start scoring some goals again and get his confidence back, could be an option for him, but Rodgers believes there is still plenty of potential to improve and develop the young City striker.

“It’s a possibility, it’s not something I’m thinking about,” said Rodgers.

“He’s a boy that’s just got to where he’s got to on his pure natural talent.

“He’s played some games for Manchester City and we’ve seen what he can do in his few appearances there.

“I think when you come into a club like here with a hefty price tag, maybe you can try and force things too much as young player.

“Normally after that that season of adaptation then things can happen for you.

“Look at Divock Origi, he’s a classic example of a young player coming in to a big club, although Kels is a bit older.

“There’s always that possibility[of a loan]. However, my plan for him is to build up his confidence in this last period.

“Whether on Monday it was being back at his former club, he probably just snatched at the chance when it came, but my job is to rebuild that confidence.

“That’s what I do.

“Then hopefully in pre-season, he’ll hit the back of the net and get the sensation of scoring again. And by the start of the season we have a player who has the confidence.”

Rodgers certainly believes Iheanacho has plenty of potential to develop and he suggested he may look at a change of formation in pre-season so he can play both Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy.

“There’s no doubt there’s something there we can work with,” he added.

“That’s what gives me great confidence.

“At times, we’ll look at a different system that allows us to have two strikers up there.

“If he’s playing with Jamie that’s a really good balance.

“In previous clubs I’ve played a diamond, I’ve played 3-1-4-2. The idea when I came here was simplicity, give the clarity. and when they grasped the concepts then you can start to develop that.”

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/brendan-rodgers-reveals-plan-kelechi-2856688

Very nice post.

“It’s a possibility, it’s not something I’m thinking about,” said Rodgers about a loan move for Iheanacho.

I like what I am reading here and one of the reasons I am against Iheanacho going to the AFCON. In the long run, we have more to gain with Nacho staying back, training with the Leicester team and going to the preseason with Rodgers were he is going to be experimental and use his ideas to give Nacho a chance to grow.

I also believe Leicester City will gain more with a 3-1-4-2 formation with Nacho and Vardy leading the line. Ndidi seating in front of the back 3. It seems exciting times ahead.

Exactly! As at time is what we speak about and he was clearly better than those in the national team then.

Now that Sporting Lisbon bought him back, we should just wait and see what becomes of him.

I don't know to be bought by Sporting Lisbon tantamounts to having regression. Some people sense of reasoning is very shallow.

Stop with the sense of reasoning being shallow bro. People have a right to their own opinion.

I think several factors restricted the callup of Tiago Ilori especially the time he broke into the Sporting Lisbon team in his teens. He was seen as a top promising talent. Some touted the idea he would captain the Portuguese side. I think he even at some point captained the Sporting Lisbon team.

Loyalty:
I doubt he was ever loyal to the GWG Jersey. He never expressed the idea of representing us. Unless it would have required the NFF going to him and convincing (begging) him to develop passion to play for us.

Injuries:
Injuries kept the bright talent for having a healthy run of games and he did not stay in the spotlight consistently to beam the light of availability for him.

Bench:
On repeated occasions, Ilori found himself out of favor with managers, thus reducing his growth.

However, if some kind of good spotlight fell on Ilori, I think he would have continued his love affair with the Portuguese. I think his loyalty was his biggest draw back.

But, it would have been a steal if we had tried to use the National team to expose his talent which might have worked. I have always believed the National team should not only be about receiving but giving.

In the end, Tiago Ilori's loyalty was never with us for our coaches to be criticised for not reaching out to him. Especially, being a lower choice if things did not work out for him. However, if things worked out, Portugal would have been his only choice.

What problem do I have with that ?/

What u just said is basically the point I'm trying to make

you are the one making it sound like Rodgers is the saviour that has come to rescue Iheanacho's career

I did not say Rodgers is the saviour. I said Nacho should look on the bright side of being dropped by getting to work with Rodgers. How that equates to Rodgers being the saviour beats my imagination.

They are plenty that fell off. So many. Does anyone remember Pablo Gonzalez of the Spanish team in Nigeria '99. No spotlight on him.

In the U17 in 2003 With Mikel and Obasi, there was these guy from Real Betis who played for Spain. Xisco. I thought that guy will reign like Messi.

Ruben and Bakero of Spain, Nigeria 99.

From Nigeria 99
Rivarola, Insua (although he lasted in Independiente in Argentina, did not make it in Europe), P. Costa, Goalkeeper Loriya, Luke Chadwick, Galleti, Emmanuel Zulu, Ofori Quaye, there was one short Ghana guy who scored the goal of the competition, Ngom Kome, Dissa.

There was one Argentine in 2001 U20, Cavenaghi. Bordeaux bought him then. Liduena.

There are so many but Nigeria always receives the tag.

In 93, 95, 97, Ghana played the U17 final in three consecutive tourneys. How many became stars?

Well so far, we hear about siphoning money, where is the hard evidence? Considering APC/Buhari came to power wearing anti-corruption Toga, where are the convictions?

Who are the so-called looters & how much did each return? Is it because they are ashamed to admit they accused people anyhow just to get into power? Or the new APC squad quietly pocketed returned loot?

Why is it that only Sambo Dasuki who arrested the tyrant 33 years ago when he was kicked out was being terrorised, and Buratai in charge of military procurement has been declared saint? Oh, he used proceeds from snake farm to buy properties in Dubai! grin cheesy grin cheesy

Under Ngozi's first coming, our foreign debts were cancelled, second time, we became Africa's biggest economy. And under Adeosun, we are now in a recession & our country the worst performing economy worldwide.

Instead of Buhari & co to dust up secondary school books on economics, they are pointing fingers at GEJ & NOI. Is that all they are going to do in 4 years and commission projects started and paid for by GEJ? Blaming everybody else but themselves? If they demonised GEJ & rubbished our economy under GEJ, why did they accept the mandate if they cannot at least maintain the economic growth they inherited?

When will he stabilise oil price in the world market & make One Naira = one dollar? grin cheesy

History repeating itself. We failed to learn then, it is now too late to complain.

President Shehu Shagari tried to stay afloat through a “stabilisation plan” that cut spending, reduced imports and hiked duties. After the 1983 elections, the government could no longer pretend. The economy went berserk. Things fell apart.

Is the Nigerian government dependent largely on oil revenues? Every Nigerian knows the answer is yes. But there is a work in progress on diversifying the economy which isn't in fruition yet. Therefore we still depend largely on oil revenues which is the basis of any economic plan in Nigeria. BRF admits that and yet contradicts himself when he tries to explain the economic hardships the country was facing due to the slump in oil prices when BRF had disputed the figures and lied we don't rely excessively on oil revenues right now.

This government is not dependent on Crude Oil revenues. If they were, they will not budget to diversify the economy.
