BabaAduras: You have started your hate remarks again. You people will never learn from your recent past experience with IPOB just as you did not learn from the Nigerian Civil War.
What have Afonjas and Arewas got to do with the collapse of your agitation and aspiration for a Biafra nation? How do you reckon you can have Biafra when all your political leaders are not in support of the agitation? When almost all the elites (educated and business gurus) of Igbo origin do not support your aspirations?
The wise ones amongst you advised you to start preparing the Southeast for Presidency in 2023. To stop all the hate speeches and cultivate friendship with other tribes. How do you think Igbo Presidency in 2023 is achievable without the support of Afonjas and Arewas? How do you think you will get the support of Afonjas and Arewas when idiots like you keep spewing hatred at the Afonjas and Arewas?
The truth is you never want to accept responsibilities for your actions. You are always blaming other people for your woes. You put all your support and faith in GEJ in 2015, when he was not re-elected, you are now complaining of marginalisation by PMB government you never supported. Haba!!!.
Yet PMB is not treating you as you deserve, in 2 years, he has done more than GEJ that you totally supported did in his 6 years of presidency. You really should be thanking your stars for the person of PMB. If it was GEJ, nothing would have happened in South East for the next 4 years.
For record purposes, GEJ refused to sign FID for NLNG Tr-7 project that would have generated thousands jobs for Nigerians, millions in terms of investment to Bonny and Rivers state and billions of dollars for Nigeria just because he was fighting Amechi, the then Governor of Rivers State. The same FID has just been signed by PMB irrespective of the fact that over 90% of Bonny people and Rivers State citizens are core PDP supporters. Wake up. You can not be expecting to reap where you have not sown except you are a thief.
Stop whining, better start learning to live in peaceful coexistence with the other part of the country, else you will continue to be left behind. Nigeria is moving forward. If we want to achieve our destiny as a Nation, we would not waste energy and thinking on whiners (like you). The sections in bold are factually incorrect. |

RileyFreeman1: Cool Until NLNG sends a regret mail, all candidates on the waitlist should be patient, hopeful and prayerful.
There is a reason why company didn't send you regret mail. Be hopeful!!!!....
I believe if business kicks up, challenges like act amendment ET Al are squashed, and the figures look good, there would be reasons to call for more hands.
In as much as you are all hopeful and waiting, do try other routes to the top.
IT IS WELL!!!!! I agree with this also...I think it is pertinent to point out that at no time did I say people shouldn't be hopeful. What I said was should you hope against hope, better make sure you heard clearly that the job was yours...hearing clearly is personal and in that regard you are on your own. |

serendipity456: I choose to disagree kind sir. Empathy may be what brought you here initially, but your choice of words being discussed doesn't depict that. It was neither empathetic nor was it sympathetic. Empathy from what i understand is ex-ante; wearing someone's shoe and making the person feel better about the future. Sympathy on the other hand is ex-post; understanding one's predicament and trying to make the person feel better about what happened in the past not necessarily forward looking. Now most people here still in the running don't necessarily need sympathy as @rileyfreeman1 said, perfomances were adjudged satisfactory subject to available openings in the company. What is needed is empathy, wearing our shoes and having a closure. Kind sir, you'd be amazed at the level of progress those who were dropped in the running last year have made. As much as those still in the running may not want to admit, this exercise has somewhat changed our lives and some career decisions made by some of us. Truth is, most are at witt's end and just desire closure. So kind sir, do be considerate (empathetic) with your words should you choose to share anymore information with us. Do have a blessed day. We all do hope for a favorable end to this maze of an exercise. What do you want me to say? Be patient? You will be called soon? That will be giving you false hope...hope for a call for medicals is up to you...better to move on with your life and be pleasantly surprised than keep holding on against hope unless you heard clearly like Papa Abraham. It's best to move on. |

RileyFreeman1: You could have said a whole lot of other things. 'I don't know for now' 'for now this is what I know' 'no plans for the wait list for now' Etc etc
OYO sounds like a mockery of their situation. OYO sounds like 'to hell with you' .
Although you might not have meant it in that context, it wasn't the right thing to say to persons who have passed tests and an assessment centre which took almost 4 years, they have been marked 'satisfactory' which means they meet the requirements of NLNG. Only for them to be wait listed and left in the dark while their pairs are receiving offer of employment.
Empathy!!! I agree that I could have said other things but none of them would have been true. You don't have to agree with me...I even clarified the context of OYO to which I received a response that stated that it was understood. It's like when a powerful word goes out from a Man of God and people receive salvation, are healed from affliction or are encouraged in the faith. There will be some in the audience wondering why people are shouting saying, "is it because of this thing he said they are jumping up and down?" ..and so in answering the question if there was a plan to employ a certain set of people, my response remains OYO. You may wish to scroll back to remind yourself of the statement's context. Empathy is what brought me here...what you are really asking for is sympathy and unfortunately it will leave you feeling hopeless and helpless in this situation. |

CHM11: He could have said that in a better way. What the F is OYO!....tmseeew not like his info has ever jived. Monicker keeps changing but person remains the same. Anyways, "imaginary dogs will keep looking for imaginary bone".
To the waitlisted, NLNG is smarter, so far they have not sent regret mails, it means they most likely have plans for you. Keep faith while you try other options.
Even though the NLNG job is an excellent one, the world doesn't revolve around NLNG's butt. There is more to life than just NLNG, a fact you will understand after 10years with the company.
I'm very positive that after the first set is settled at work, the waitlisted will be brought in. Next Q1 seems like a good time. Why so offended? No need for that. I could have answered differently and more eloquently but to what end would it serve? OYO means On Your Own i.e. If you choose like Abraham to hope against hope, be very sure that you actually heard from God as salvation is personal. I will ignore the other comments. Enjoy your day. |

serendipity456: First off, congratulations to all those who have received their offer letters. May y'all excel in your respective functions as assigned and bring about positivity in the organisation such that this type of exercise doesn't linger as it has done/is doing. That being said, this exercise (if indeed it is still ongoing) has left me bemused moreso than when it first started. I was 26.5 yrs when i applied and i will be 30 in a couple of months and there are still so many unanswered questions. Some of applicants recently were 'upgraded' from waitlisted to 'medicalisted' and i may be wrong though, but i am guessing not all prior medicalisted appicants have received their letters. Then there is the waitlisted, which is at the botttom of the totem pole as regards this exercise and which is where i am currently at. So i ask, is this recruitment ever gonna end? Are we looking at the next batch of medicalisted being given offer letters next year? The waitlisted maybe 2 to 3 years? Are positively corrolated factors like Economic outlook, Gas related legislative bills going to make it linger more? Or maybe zero corrolated factors like Real Madrid winning the Champions league back to back, Nigeria Vs Ghana Jollof rice debacle still going to affect this exercise even more? #somanyquestions The exercise is coming to an end. No more delays in Jesus' name. Amen! |

SirMethod: In summary, it is wiser to take up an NLNG GT job and work for 3-5years, afterwhich you can go and pursue your CEO dreams. What about that? I know a couple of people that did this...with an MBA in the middle...one to Wharton and another to MIT....it is not a bad strategy at all. |

majekdom2: you perhaps didn't understand my posts. I said, I am not sure an individual who is 3 years gone in shell and already has the glorified title- Manager will want to take up to "trainee" position in NLNG. You mentioned and said, it's not possible to be a manager in 3 years with shell. I came up with the position, you called it glorified- "Bad belle talk" -and said it's not regarded as I see it. I came with another posts and you have just said it's easier talking when I am outside. I understand business structures and I know the type of managers you are talking. Note I didn't mention pay or benefit. My point is simple the guy has progressed beyond what NLNG should call a trainee. I know people who left General Manager jobs to become 'officers'...choose what is most important to you...the job title, or the total compensation. |

I know not one not 2 not even 3 peeps in IOCs that are doing well. I can say boldy that they are brilliant. Do you know me that you know where my assurance is coming from? 2 got the job before end of service, 1 after Masters, the other after 2 year at home. See no matter the politics, hardwork and brilliance will always tell. Yes, we know politics exist. What's there in the real world. You made no sense as you did not state what's obtainable in the real world in your own thoughts. Don't worry we have heard...there is no such thing as packaging. Let me just drop that truth here. |

I laffed so hard when I read 'the sky is your starting point if you're really smart and brilliant in shell'. The young man said it with so much assurance. People should learn to forget the ideals and deal with the real world before beating their chest on whatever. Sorry if I derailed the thread but I just had to let this out! I love this comment. |

I want to believe you know what's called fast track program. 2 years may be small but not 3 or 4 for account managers.
