Thank u

We have all been very cordial to you even though if you read between the lines your serial misrepresentation calls for some serious concern.

Do the right thing and follow the advice you have been given to clear your outstanding bill and delay any further applications to the US until about 2 years have passed.

When you do reapply, please make sure you tell the whole truth about your originally declared intent, your true intention, and how it actually played out.

Have a good day.

Based on the realities that money no too plenty for this side, one of the options is to work 2 jobs, afterall Nigerians brag they can hustle. So na so I dey look this second job thing that has been offered to me:

Leave home by 8am for Job 1 that starts by 9.30am and ends by 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Then one hour bus home and arrive home by 7pm max.

Leave home 8pm for Job 2 that starts by 10pm and ends by 6am Sunday Night to Thursday morning. One hour bus home and arrive home by 7am.

Sleep time - 1hour at break time at night and anything that can be snatched during the day.

Is this feasible?

Sleep on the bus to work and on the way back...that's two hours....break time at night...one hour...making three hours...three hours a day for 4 days a week and full night's sleep for 3 days isn't the end of the world.

At least you have Thursday Night, Friday Night, and Saturday Night....you can sleep all of Saturday and do your shopping Sunday afternoon before going to work.

It's not impossible but it's something you can try out for a few weeks to a month. If you find that you can't cope then you can just quit and look for something with shorter hours. At least you will get paid for the period you are trying it out...

If I may ask, what qualifications do you have?

Abeg this us tourist visa stuff is becoming absurd and a joke.I really wanted to visit the US this year and my mom who was my sponsor has a very good job to sponsor my trip comfortably. I was not even asked about my sponsor. There are just so many flaws in their system. As I was there today I counted everybody that was interviewed and they were 29 before me only 4 people were issued the visa.
So tell me how do they know someone is "genuine" by not checking their documents or statement of account or anything just asking questions at face value and for those saying travel history is compulsory I have friends that haven't travelled before and got their visa and still overstayed their visa and others who have extensive travel history and still got denied. They will be forming "psychologists".
From my observation I feel they are filtering people at random and they only give the few who they feel will be still be safe for their economy even If they overstayed.

what were you asked?

The problem with you Seye is that to criticize sabi shack you..most people are not aware of nairaland,I can’t count how many people I have directed to nairaland and they are always surprised that there is really a forum like this.i wasn’t even aware of nairaland until a big bro of mine directed me here 2016 ,I was hesitant at first but I eventually checked it out..we all know a high percentage of Nigerians are not well informed and have been brainwashed to do certain things when it comes to travel..she accepted her fault and wants a way forward..what is the way forward is what she is asking? What good will criticism do at this point..be fair abeg

Forums like Nairaland thrive when trusted members like seyewest are committed to shutting down any comments that are either misleading or outright fraudulent in order to maintain the integrity of the forum. Sometimes being blunt is more helpful that cajoling and massaging egos or damaged pride.

Again, I was not asked for Bank statement but my friend was asked for her's. Do not carry oluwole statement, they have people designated to scrutinise and banks on speed dial. Oluwole will get you a lifetime ban. My friend has less than 200k in her statement, her pay slip showed she could comfortably afford her trip and she was issued a visa. Do not let anyone discourage you from applying as long as you have genuine intentions. I left this forum for almost 5 days before my interview cos I did not want any negativity. I had positive vibes before my interview and it paid off. Interview day I zoned out voices and could only see people rejected without hearing their responses. Positivity and prayers always works.

I Have been following this thread closely.

This thread has been very helpful.

I have this question. This is my first time of applying to the US.

am Married with 3 kids and I have a job and have been to
1. Ireland
2. Saudi Arabia
3. Nairobi
4. London
I also got Shengen Visa to Paris but was unable to travel before the 1 month validity of the VISA expired due to the fault of our Partners in Paris. I reapplied immediately after expiration of my Schengen Visa as our partners were ready to recieve us, but was denied VISA.

Note that am an IT Engineer working for an IT Company and am going to the US on behalf of my company to carry out some system Upgrade at the our client's branches in NEW YORK, ATLANTA and WASHINGTON.

I am scheduled for an interview soon. Please what are my chances since i was denied Schengen VISA recently (December 2018)

No one may work in the US on a B1/B2 visa. The B1 portion allows business such as meetings, training sessions, factory and office visits and tours, consultations, signing contracts, but no material work that produces or could produce payment in return. B2 is for tourism: visiting friends and family, libraries, museums and parks. Shopping. No working.

iammo:
Let their books be audited, NLNG was a secret cash house for corruption for PDP since inception. People mostly focus on the barrels of crude oil we sell, and ignore the cubic volume of gas we sell. If APC government wants to offer full disclosure since 1999, then its a very good one. Dunderheads with penchant support for corruption would try hard to want us not to support this, since PDP couldn't audit it all this while, they would blame and frustrate the once that want to audit it. We remembered how the PDP controlled senate did absolutely nothing when sanusi raised an alarm that money wasn't remitted to the tune of $20bn under PDP federal government.

Your post reeks of ignorance....NLNG is a private company and was at no time a cash house for any political party.

All the production volumes from 1999 are publicly available in the annually published NLNG Facts and Figures.

Dividends have always been paid into the nominated shareholder accounts....please check well before you start crying in public

Hello experienced nairalanders,
I wish to attend a 5 day conference in new York in July 2019. It is a medical women's conference. I am a medical doctor, married with two kids. I have a 6months UK visa. I will be traveling in Dec to London and will be spending 6 weeks. I will be back in February.
My parents just got their US visas yesterday and they may be in New York in July.
My dilemma is this. My aunt whom my parents will be staying with, lives in bookyln, 20mins walk away from the venue of the conference I will be attending.
I don't mind booking a hotel for my stay.
It is tempting to say that I will be staying with her for the duration of the conference but I feel that it may jeopardize my chances of getting a visa. Especially if my parents are still in her place.
Do I check no to the question 'do you have any relative in the USA? Bear in mind, my parents may be there at the time of application. Do I deny that I do not have an aunt.
Do I book my hotel and state that I may visit her.
I was refused a student visa about 15years ago and this was facilitated by the same aunt.
My people, pls advice me.

I believe the question relates to any relatives who are physically present in the US at the time of your NIV application.

I am confused how i am not being genuine ? I thought that was what i was doing by asking these questions.

Everthing i do is within a legal confindment.

Nigerians are denied visas for proir reputation of oversaying their visas or engaging in illegal activities.

I visited for a friends convocation, after which i returened home.

I came back to explore the country. I have currently visited 6 states and counting more.

This is my hard earned money, pls if i am doing something wrong, nicely let me know and i will make amends .

I believe what everyone is subtly requesting is that you do not overstay the date stamped on your passport and your I-94

You can check your status here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/compliance-search

Travel / Re: Payment For Trolley At Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos by thegreengooner(m): 11:22am On Nov 29, 2018
Trolleys are not free to use in many airports around the world.

There are a few exceptions such as London Heathrow, Dubai, and HIA Doha but in most places you pay to use trolleys.

At some airports such as Dallas Fort Worth, you can get your coin deposit back when you return the trolley.

I have no issues with receipted payments in Nigeria.

My colleague just applied and was called for interview although she filled Newyork but ThTs always been her destination

New York/New Jersey is like Ikoyi/Lekki.

I usually take the Lincoln Tunnel from Manhattan into New Jersey....same way you take Lekki/Ikoyi Bridge from Ikoyi into Lekki Phase I.

No real value in changing destination.... grin

I respect your years of experience (11) which is a fair outing.
My immediate subordinate has raked in 14 years as a certified practitioner.

Lets just learn from each other anonymously.

No need to make you feel small.

You have your experience, I have mine.

Thats about it.

Yet again you miss my point while making the point you are so eager to distance yourself from. This is fun Mr. Anonymous. Any thing you want to say in life, you better say it with your chest or say nothing at all.

Perhaps you do......perhaps you don't but this shouldn't bring about an argument.

State what you know, I state what I know and the readers determine which sounds superior and decide which way to go.

Some for you and some for me.

By the way, I prefer to remain anonymous and faceless.

I have no need to lie to you or anyone else.

No effort required...just google me. I mean it literally. I'm neither faceless nor anonymous.

Bros you have done well.

All your posts are on point.

Regarding that NLNG and its recruitment I can state categorically that while there may be a few cases of impropriety in the proces this will be very few and far apart.

I will state three cases here.

A young man working with the company who moved through the recruitment process (which lasted the better of one year)did not know anyone there. He had been wallowing in a teaching job in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State for many years. A first class Engineering product from one of the foremost public universities was recruited without any mago-mago whatsoever. His contract is still one of the most impresive ones I have ever seen. And I have seen a great many ofeers in my time.

A second person was recruited to join their maritime operations. he has been in the Merchant navy for a number of years. Recruited from Lisbon, he was brought into that job strictly on merit.

Thirdly I will have you know that just like any other serious minded company the LNG has a very knowledgeable HR unit that is charged with recruiting the very best hands for the available openings. They do this in concert with a number of recruiting firms and sometimes some headhunting companies. There is absolutely no year that the HR team does not go on a recruitment drive in Europe and America seeking the very best Nigerian students who they attempt to convince to come home to join their team.

Personally, I am of the view that the man know man phenomenon is over rated especially in the specialized industry in contrast to the public service.

I don't believe the highlighted portion of your statement is fact based, but okay...
