The first civilian governor of Osun and serving senator, Isiaka Adeleke, is dead. He died in the early hours of Sunday at a private hospital in Osogbo. Adeleke was 62.

At the residence of the former governor in Ede, the atmosphere was tense as his corpse was brought in at about 1:10 p.m, preparatory to the Islamic burial rites at 4:p.m.

A crowd of sympathizers and family members were seen weeping uncontrollably on sighting the corpse of the late flamboyant politician and socialite.

A two-term senator, Adeleke had won the Osun West senatorial seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in 2007.



He, however, defected from the PDP in the build up to the 2015 general elections and had won again on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.NAN

The show host for the recently concluded Big Brother Naija reality TV show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has opened up on some behind the scene acts which went down in the house.

Ebuka in a chat with Beat FM’s Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru on the radio station’s Midday show revealed that the organisers had to cut some part of the show from public viewing.

The show host further addressed a question posed on whether any of the housemates had sex during their stay in the house.

Toolz: There were some concerns that it wouldn’t be as successful because there was no shower hour, I mean, what people kind of expect from Big Brother.

Ebuka: “I wasn’t worried about that to be very honest, I mean Big Brother, even with the African seasons, the Drama has also come with the Nigerians, Because the Nigerian housemates always came with that ‘You better know who i am’ [vibe], so when you have 12, 13, 16 of those personalities together, you don’t need a shower hour to get this sort of drama.

I think that showed itself. As much as it was probably the most censored season of Big brother ever, a lot of things were actually not broadcast.

No shower hour, a lot of the kissing, a lot of things were actually not broadcast because they knew it wasn’t going to be Nigerian friendly.



There were issues with National assembly, National Broadcasting Corporation not wanting certain things to go on air, even if the show was rated 18, they still didn’t care. So a lot of things weren’t put on air, still the drama was crazy.

Toolz: So what was not on air?

Ebuka: A lot of things, lots of things (laughs)

Toolz: Did any of the contestants have like, Proper full Sexy time?

Ebuka: Like Sex? None that I know of. To be very honest, none that I know of. I don’t think any body went that far. If any body did, they must have been very sly about it. But I don’t think any body went that far.

Toolz: So, what was actually censored then?

Ebuka: A lot of nud!ty, there were people who walked around the house naked.

Toolz: Other than Tboss, who else got naked?

Ebuka: Well, That’s what the viewers would never know, ‘cos it just was never broadcast, and since it wasn’t broadcast, it can’t be content anymore so i can’t talk about it. But couple of people were caught on camera doing “things” (Laughs).

Toolz: What kind of things?

Ebuka: Things!.. Things like? how do i say this, Self Happiness?

Sometimes.. Sometimes, maybe. I mean three months is a long time. I’m sure you dig what ‘Self happiness’ means, lol.

The Omega Fire Ministries founder and spiritual leader, Apostle Suleman is yet to suppress the sex scandal allegation leveled against him by a Canada-based Nigerian songstress, Stephanie Otobo.

Recall that the alleged mistress had alleged that the cleric made an attempt on her life to cover up his numerous sexual affairs.

She further released some photos of their cam chat adding that the cleric was responsible for financing Nigerian actress, Daniella Okeke’s luxury life after he allegedly bought her a Range Rover vehicle and forked out millions on her house.

The cleric whom the alleged mistress recently filed a $5 million lawsuit against in Canada was at the police force’s headquarters on Friday.

Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo – Ita has promised to give a house to the couple who recently delivered quintuplets at the National Hospital Abuja.

Oyo – Ita made the promise while visiting the children on Saturday in Abuja.

She said that the house will be given under the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Scheme.

She also promised Mr. Imudia Uduehi, father of the quintuplets who is a graduate from the University of Ilorin, Kwara state a job with the Federal Civil Service.



Uduehi, at the moment, is unemployed.

She described the children as great blessings given to the couple by God on a platter of gold.

She said the job offer to Uduehi would enable him cater for the children. “I am very happy for you and I am standing here this afternoon representing the entire civil service of Nigeria.

Today is a day of joy for all of us. Indeed you are a couple that has been so blessed by God. You have been married for just two years and God has blessed you with five children at once.



I want to tell you that the Federal Integrated Staff Housing program will be made available to you, we will give you a house that can accommodate you, your husband and your five children.”

Oyo – Ita also presented cash gifts and diapers to them. Mrs. Oluwakemi Uduehi, mother of the children who spoke on behalf of her family thanked the Head Of Service for her kind gesture. She is a staff of the National Population Commission.

Nigerian singer, Davido and rapper, Iceprince Zamani were reported to have been involved in a fight which broke down in Warri.

According to a social media user, Davido Music Worldwide boss, Davido who was in town for an event fought the Chocolate City ‘Oleku’ crooner at the event in Warri, Delta State.

The Twitter user, Saint Lee, alleged that the fight broke after Iceprince Zamani questioned Shina Peller, Quilox club boss, why he was asked to manage a ride with some other persons when Davido got a salon car to himself.

The social media user noted that the DMW boss got furious on account of Iceprince’s remark which led to the fight.

The founder and lead pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries, OFM, Apostle Suleman has reacted to the various allegations leveled against him by a Canada-based Nigerian lady, Stephanie Otobo who had earlier alleged that he made attempt on her life to cover up his sex scandal.

The cleric represented by his Media Advisor, Phrank Shaibu in an interview with Vicent Kalu, addressed the fresh allegations made against him by his alleged mistress in the last edition of Saturday Sun.

How do you react to recent claims by Stephanie on her relationship with Apostle Suleman?



It is not for her to probe the wisdom of the mother in going to beg for forgiveness. The mother has done what she felt was right and we have responded to the mother’s appeal for forgiveness. Can’t you guys see the contradiction in the claim of being poisoned by Apostle? First, she claimed that the poison was given to her by Apostle in a hotel. Next she said it was in a dream. Perhaps, she would come up with another bizarre tale. Seriously, even my three -year- old daughter can do better.

She also alleged that if Apostle presents his international passport, and places it side by side her’s, it will reveal that both of them travelled together on a certain day to Canada. What do you say to this?

How do you travel with someone you have never met? It is clearly an illusion and part of her romantic fantasy. But again, if she wants to prove her case before the media, are we the ones to help her do so? Can’t she go to the airline and get a manifest on how they travelled together? Tell the world her seat number and that of Apostle Suleman. Let her get those facts and give to the press.
Besides, when a stalker is desperate, he/she can go to any length to get his/her victim’s attention. If you know the itinerary of your target, particularly a preacher whose international meetings are made public, a desperate stalker can go there in attempt to see the person. The truth is that, this is an unnecessary media trial and it is deceitful, mendaciously knavish and full of falsehood. So, we cannot keep giving this girl this honor of coming to speak to the press and waste people’s time and waste people’s money, just because we want her to entertain the public with falsehood. Sadly, there seems to be a group of people who are well mobilized, from all indications, to ensure that Apostle Suleman is assumed guilty and stripped of all credibility even before his accuser is able to prove any of her allegations. I fear, the objective of this group is informed by anything but altruism. It’s mischief.

The bank statement showing payments Apostle Suleman allegedly made into her (Stephanie’s) account, was it forged?



I am surprised that you are even referring to the purported bank statement as genuine. Anyone can type and print a statement and call it by any name. But it cannot be called a genuine bank statement, except such a statement has been so verified by a forensic expert under the direction of a court of competent jurisdiction to so do. More so, what we had expected was evidence to buttress her initial claims of tons of dollars, Euros and the Pound Sterling being paid into her account, not the lodgment in a Naira account. Certainly, this is an afterthought, but it is not strange as Apostle Suleman engages in a lot of charity. On a daily basis, men and women come for help and he assists them. Was Apostle Johnson Suleman sleeping with Nollywood Actor, Leo Mezie, when he paid his entire medical bill of £30,000 for kidney transplant in UK? This is what they don’t tell you. Was Apostle Suleman sleeping with the nine poor Nigerians (male and female) he gave cars to on February 5th, 2016? Was he sleeping with the 30 widows and other indigent people that he gave out millions to start their own businesses? To Johnson Suleman, giving is a lifestyle. The fact is that, we have never denied extending help to this girl. What we actually said was that, help was extended to her based on her claimed need and her quest to stop functioning as a stripper in Canada. And there is nothing strange about that. If money was given to her to turn her life around and embrace God, it’s okay. But then, it must be noted that these so -called revelations are only an after-thought. The girl is just busy trying to manufacture weak and unsubstantiated evidence to justify her story. Fortunately, everything she says contradicts her initial claims, thereby exposing her as a serial liar. The truth is that it’s simply preposterous to want to join issues with her, since it’s so obvious where she’s coming from. So, I don’t want to be dragged into any expanded debate with a Stephanie Otobo. The mother has asked for forgiveness and we have looked into that accordingly. She alone, knows where she is getting her inspiration and or motivation from on this issue . But it will do her well to seek forgiveness from God. Not from Apostle. Because of the import inherent in what she is doing.

The BB chats with the man of God, were they also forged?

Let me clearly state that, Stephanie’s social status in Canada is quite un-dignifying and it will be quite unnecessary to respond to someone who has remained inconsistent in her claims and told a litany of lies. It is sad to say that she does not represent anything positive, either in her private life or the image she is projecting through this controversy. Let me reiterate that Stephanie is a half-baked upstart without any claim to a pedigree and all her claims have fallen like a pack of cards.

She also alleged that money was paid into her account through the Apostle’s pastor in Canada. Could she have made such allegation without facts?

Did she present another bank statement? Stephanie Otobo is certainly struggling with some issues and I think it is right for her to see a psychologist and a psychiatrist to resolve those issues. Because, this is what we call emotional fantasy. A girl who has never met someone; who has no evidence of ever meeting the person, yet claims the person impregnated her? What can she not manufacture? If she had a shred of fact, you think, she wouldn’t have given it out a long time ago? What fact? Any keen observer of the whole saga will know that she has exhausted herself on lies. We believe in the rule of law and will expose her barefaced lies. For instance, when you check the first video and photos she released, as a graphic designer and expert, you will see the overlay of the photos, which simply showed it was a photoshop creation. Anyway, we are not stupid to allow our evidence in court to be ambushed.

She said only a public apology would assuage the embarrassment the Apostle caused her, and also apology to his congregation. Would you consider this to end the matter?

She threatened to sue Apostle for N500 million for breach of promise to marry. She moved to ask police to investigate Apostle for procurement of illegal abortion. Then she said Apostle should be arrested for threat to life. Now she says all she needs is apology from Apostle and for him to also apologise to his congregation. So what does she really want? Her so -called lawyer, Festus Keyamo, who wrote the letter and threatened to sue, has not done so. Suddenly, he is quiet. At a stage he caused his staff to issue a statement that he was not involved. But we know that Keyamo and Stephanie are from Sapele. Is it just a mere coincidence? This girl has an undignified social status as well as economic crises or difficulties in Canada. So, whatever she has done or is doing now, is to be expected of people of such status. It’s unfortunate that she and her sponsors thought Apostle was a fertile ground for her to extort money. She wanted to reap where she didn’t sow. If Apostle Suleman had something to hide, he would have settled her and would not have involved the police in the first case. And as it is obvious to everyone of us, when she started making unreasonable financial demands, he involved the police who played along, acting as if they were the ones to pay her the money, and that was how she was arrested.

Has this not eroded the confidence the public and members of the church have in Apostle Suleman; has it not affected his reputation and what he stood or stands for?

The church has reached a decision on this matter. And I don’t think there is any need expanding any debate on this. Her mother has come to beg for forgiveness and we have reached a decision on that. The church also knows that this is a lady that deliberately wants to distract Apostle Suleman from his good works and there is no point giving her attention because till date, she has not brought out any credible evidence that she has been able to hold on to. Everything she has said in the past, she contradicted in her subsequent videos. It’s so unfortunate that she has wasted everybody’s time.

In any case, no man called Apostle Suleman into ministry. He was ordained by God and his ministry has continued to grow with manifestations of signs and wonders to show that the church belongs to God. Omega Fire Ministries is not a business concern and people do not go there to engage in buying and selling. The church enjoys a divine mandate and that is why the gate of hell cannot prevail against it. You may wish to know that, Apostle Suleman, despite the raging controversy recently had crusades in Washington DC, Cyprus, Turkey and Accra and the turnout was overwhelming, as much as the miracles were unprecedented. So, it’s simply preposterous for anyone to imagine that a mere mortal can stop or challenge the work of God.

Known for tactical disappearance when mostly needed and vehement aggression when extorting drivers, nothing defines misplacement of priority better than men of Nigeria’s Police Force (NPF). Their expected responsibility is not too difficult to comprehend; protect law and order, but Nigeria police officers has for years proven they are not ready to get that alone wedged in their brains, they’ve therefore found another angle to their statutory role. I don’t know how true this is, but it’s a general saying in the country; embark on a visit to a police officer’s house and you’ll be welcomed by “what did you bring for me and my family”, a visit to one’s house by a police friend will end with “what do you have for me to take home”—it’s that bad.

A brief point of correction. I won’t overgeneralize and label the entire system bad. There are still good eggs in the police system, which I must commend their patriotisms but the reality is appalling, the bad ones apparently out shadows the good ones, two or three out of fifty is insignificant and mathematically negligible.

At a point in time, you will be left with no other option than to wonder if there exist a communication link between the Abuja office of NPF and her wings moving from states to local government areas and finally to local settlements. If actually there is, the reason(s) a police officer will still violate orders from Abuja office is unfathomable. Sadly, a good percentage of them do not know the name of the Inspector General of Police. That needed to be mentioned too.

Even when he/she doesn’t know the name of his/her boss, once on the road in most times not surprisingly dirty, rough, and unattractive black kits with outdated and tattered beret, if not complemented with rubber footwear (AKA Yar’adua), assumes a position comparable to that of Idi Ami, giving orders one must obey if one has something tangible to do in life. Their unappealing mode of dressing might be a topic of another day. Oh, lest I forget, sometimes some of them pay Iya Sikira o ni paraga (local alcohol seller) visit before resuming duty, to shack up their body system, a necessary cause to most of them, pathetic.



A quick suggestion before I continue, NPF needs to redesign the uniform, there is an urgent need to remove pockets from their uniform. This will go a long way in giving road users some form of relief, certainly.

To all grown up Nigerians, news of NPF men seeing an economic angle to their duties is stale. New IGPs, new strong warnings but none has yielded a positive result, instead, there has been a direct response from our officers to any economic development when the amount to be paid as police tax is to be agreed upon. From days of twenty naira, to fifty naira and now to hundred naira and possibly two hundred naira considering the body language of Nigeria’s economy, you have to give it to them, they’ve been responding well. This trend can better be analyzed by a public transport driver, at least they are at the receiving end—this used to be my thought, just to be disappointed by a driver who told me police-settlement-fee is put into consideration when the cost of transporting is to be decided by the union in charge, that was I realized these people are extorting my poor self too.

Aside from this negative attributes, their posture on the road looks impressive at first but end up being depressive or funny—depending on one’s state of mind. Standing gallantly with loaded but most times rusty gun rolled round their necks, you’ll think one serious security personnel is standing until you see one human hand forming curve-like shape, indirectly saying Oga drop something or an unsolicited handshake that must be complimented with naira note. Failure to obey the message from the hand can result in verbal war if not physical. Pictures below give a better explanation.

Racism itself has become so ingrained in the psyche of the black man that he no longer sees himself as less or equal to the white man but now superior…..As evident in the strong yet unsavoury reactions of black females to strange yet perfectly normal social media posts by unsuspecting individuals.

Lady Johanna, a Swedish dancehall queen married to a black man is at the center of racist attacks from female blacks.

In recent times, there have been outcries from the female blacks as regards how their ‘black’ men roll over them and get hooked to white ladies.

When the video below went viral, expectedly, the women came out in their droves and swamped upon the young couple. Naturally, some defended them, while others went for the jugular. The lady in the video showed off her dancing skills despite being in labour and on her way to the hospital.

Like they say, different strokes for different folks. A section of the women ‘folk’ who are blacks lampooned other blacks for their attitude hence the major reason why the men ‘pull over’ and ‘port’ to the white folks.

American singer-songwriter and record producer Mary J Blige is ripping into estranged husband Martin “Kendu” Isaacs for spending her hard-earned money on his new girlfriend, and demanding she supports his kids from a previous relationship.

TMZ reports that Mary will refuse to pay for her husband’s spousal support as she accuses him of spending money on his girlfriend.

Mary also indicates that during the marriage Martin took more than $420,000 and chalked it up as “travel charges.”

Martin is asking for more than $110k per month in spousal support but Mary says that’s outrageous. She also added that “I am not responsible for supporting Martin’s parents and his children from another relationship which he lists as ongoing monthly expenses.”

Leaders are meant to make the tough decisions, keep the economy afloat, make sound political and diplomatic decisions to keep the country flourishing. However, before we reach the point where we can speak of the ideal leader, we must add that every country must have a transition period where bloodshed and madness will prevail.

As humans, it is ingrained in a natural history that there’d be violence, massacres and destruction as power continually changed hands between leaderships.

However, there is no harm in mentioning that each country hasn’t had their fair share of horrible leaders.

10. Yakubu Gowon (1.1 million deaths)

It starts as many sad stories do with precious beautiful oil. It had been found in the Niger delta where tensions were already high between the Eastern region (led by Ojukwu) and the rest of the country (governed by Yakubu). A dummy agreement was signed between them called the “Aburi Accord”, but it meant nothing to either leader.
Yakubu started to put pressure on the region and tested how much sway he had in the area versus Ojukwu. Well, Ojukwu being no slouch declared secession from the rest of Nigeria and became the “Republic of Biafra”. This began a war that caused the deaths of 100,000 soldiers, and much worse, a blockade on the region which starved 1 million civilians.

9. Mengistu Haile Mariam (400,000 – 1.5 million deaths)

Mengistu Haile Mariam is a politician who presided over Ethiopia from 1974 to 1991. The way he got into power was by smothering the previous president Haile Selassie although he has denied those rumors. His biggest claim to fame is the Ethiopian Red Terror which was a campaign of repression led by the Derg (communist militia in Ethiopia).

In his introductory speech Mengitsu yelled, “Death to counterrevolutionaries! Death to the EPRP!” Then he took three bottles filled with blood and threw them to the ground.

During his reign, thousands were killed and found dead on the streets in the years that followed. Much of the murdering can be attributed to the friendly neighborhood watch there known as “Kebeles”.

8. Kim Il Sung (1.6 million deaths)
Before our very own Kim Jong-Il was his murderous father Kim Il Sung who led North Korea in a terrible direction. He fought for a command economy that allowed the government to make all decisions for the country.

For various reasons, the people never seemed to love the man, and so his hold on power was tenuous at best. Like most lunatics in power, he had to blame somebody else, in this case, the USA and said they had spread disease throughout its population. He also initiated had large-scale purges. His underlying reason was that it would scare people into believing he was telling the truth. Kim’s purge was a little different than Stalin’s though in that there were no trials. During his tenure prison camps sprung up all over the country to contain the ever growing masses of people against Kim Il Sung.

7. Pol Pot (1.7 million deaths)

Pol Pot was the leader of the communist movement in Cambodia. He attempted to “cleanse” the country and it resulted in the death of an estimated 1.7 to 2.5 million people. There was an interesting policy going around called agrarian collectivization which he put into practice in the late 1970’s.

Basically, he forced city folk to head out to the farms to do some labor and vice versa for farmers. As you might guess, and hindsight is 20/20, neither group was very good at their new jobs. Pol didn’t stop at enslaving his own people though. He also didn’t feed them well, gave them little medical care, and executed many of them. The net result was killing off approximately 1/5 of the Cambodian population!

6. Ismail Enver Pasha (2.5 million deaths)

He began his career as a Turkish military officer and leader in the Young Turk revolution. Eventually, he rose to power and led the Ottoman Empire in both Balkan Wars and World War I. As a war minister Enver was not very useful, and was defeated over and over. His crushing loss at the Battle of Sarikamish needed a scapegoat, and that’s when he decided to blame Armenians for the failure. That is what began what is now known as the Armenian Genocide. The word “genocide” was coined to describe this event.

5. Hideki Tojo (5 million deaths)

Hideki Tojo was a general in the Imperial Japanese Army. He assumed the position of Prime Minister and held Army Minister concurrently. As if that wasn’t enough he also held other major positions like Home Minister, Foreign Minister, Education Minister, and Commerce Minister. His major contributions to education were teaching militaristic and nationalist indoctrination. His version of homeland security was approving eugenics measures which essentially made a distinction between pure blood and mixed blood Japanese families.

During World War II Tojo started winning battles and the public loved him for it. He really bought into the Nazi ideology, and held steadfastly with Germany. When the tide turned, and he began losing, it was devastating.

He was tried for war crimes and found guilty of waging wars of aggression, wars in violation of international law, and waging unprovoked war against many countries. Not to mention ordering, authorizing, and permitting inhumane treatment of Prisoners of War.

4. Leopold II of Belgium (2-15 million deaths)
Leopold II was the King of the Belgians, and believed in colonialism. He thought acquiring colonies overseas was essential to a great country and was always scheming. The problem was Belgium really didn’t care, and so Leopold went into business for himself. He started a company that seemed like it was doing good called the International African Society. A year later he used that company to travel to Congo, laid claim to a plot of land 14 times the size of Belgium, and made 14 countries agree (USA included) that he was free to rule it with his own private militia. He then forced the indigenous populations into forced labor, created a bustling rubber industry, and abused his workers grievously.

Estimates of the death toll range from two to fifteen million which could all have been avoided if 14 countries didn’t allow it but they did.

3. Adolf Hitler (17 million deaths)

Adolf Hitler was the leader of the Nazi Party. He was the absolute dictator of Germany from 1934 to 1945. He gained support by promoting values like German nationalism and anti-semitism.

Hitler was appointed chancellor in 1933 and began the Third Reich. Hitler was power hungry as all hell, hated the shit out of Jews (and others), and wanted hegemony in Europe. The militarization that was needed to complete such a lofty goal led to the outbreak of World War II. Nazi forces engaged in the systematic murder of as many as 17 million civilians, an estimated six million of whom were Jews and 1.5 million Romanis.

2. Jozef Stalin (23 million deaths)

Jozef Stalin was the first Secretary of the Communist Party from 1922 – 1953. After Lenin’s death in 1924, he became the leader of the Soviet Union. Stalin didn’t take long in launching a new economy that screwed up food production across the country so bad it caused massive famine.

Between 1922-23 it had reached such catastrophic proportions, in Ukraine this dark period is known as Holodomor; where it was widely believed that Soviet policies caused the famine there and was designed as an attack on Ukrainian nationalism. Estimates on the total number of casualties within Soviet Ukraine range from 2.6 million to 10 million! During the late 1930s, Stalin launched another wonderfully titled initiative called the Great Purge. It was a paranoid campaign to kill off the people who opposed him, and his targets were often executed.

In 1939 Stalin agreed to a non-aggression pact with the Nazis. Eventually, Germany violated the pact, the Soviet Union joined the allies, and they racked up 23.9 million deaths (the largest death toll in the war).

1. Mao Zedong (49-78 million deaths)

Mao Zedong was a Chinese revolutionary, political theorist, and communist leader who led the People’s Republic of China. Mao, while controversial, is still widely considered a savior of the nation. During his first five years from 1949 – 53 he is said to have systematically killed between 4 to 6 million people by sentencing them to die or by sending them to “reform through labor” camps. He organized mass repressions, established execution quotas, and defended his actions in these early years as necessary for securing power for “The People’s Republic of China”.

His social programs the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution are two of the most ill-fated, poorly named, initiatives ever. The first was an effort to rapidly industrialize China. His focus was on making China a premier exporter of steel, and to this end, he asked everybody to make it. The problem was it got many citizens to make smelting shops in their backyards. Not only was the steel of little value, but it was made from everything lying around the house including their own cooking supplies! Without the tools to make food, no money coming in from the steel, and no money to survive ~ a lot of people starved to death. The estimates on this program alone are 20 million deaths!

In the interim Mao started the socialist education movement. He aimed the concept at young ones who would eventually wrest the power away from the older guard. By 1964 this movement was renamed the “four cleanups movement” whose goal was cleansing politics, economics, ideas, and organization of “reactionaries”. This led to the formation of the “Red Guards” who were organized to punish intellectuals and take out Mao’s political adversaries. The Cultural Revolution was now underway, and its overriding mission was to abolish: Old Customs, Old Culture, Old Habits, and Old Ideas. Something Mao fervently believed in was that destruction and chaos could bring re-birth. So he told his followers to destroy buildings, sacred objects, talk back to one’s elders, punish them, turn them in, and kill those who did not agree. By 1968 things were starting to look pretty good for Mao all over again, and so he put into place the decade long “Down to the Countryside Movement” which forced young intellectuals to move out to the country to become farmers. Sadly, the people he pushed out there were the same Red Guards who had helped him get back into power. Estimates of the death toll are between 40,000 – 7 million depending on who you ask.

Finally, there is the 100 flowers movement which just needs an abbreviated mention here. Mao asked people to come forth and tell him how he should govern China. Intellectuals and liberals bit at the chance to tell him what they really thought, and were encouraged by the Communist party to do so. Then in a sudden change of heart or an incredibly crafty mission to out his haters, the government persecuted 500,000 of them who were considered to be “dangerous thinkers”.

Essentially, the moral of this story will be to try as much as possible not to repeat the mistakes of the past so that they wouldn’t bring forth situations where people like this will take power and make everyone miserable.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States of America are looking to the assistance of the general public in locating Kelechi Declan James.

He has federal criminal charges against him from an investigation by FBI New York’s Cyber Crime Task Force.

The FBI is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest. James is 32 years old, 6’0″ tall, and approximately 175 pounds. He is a Nigerian national, has brown eyes and black hair, and may have a beard.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of James is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.

The FBI can be reached 24 hours a day at (212) 384-1000. He is not considered to be violent in nature.

As alleged in a complaint sworn out of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, James, along with four other co-conspirators, ran a business e-mail compromise scheme that resulted in victim losses of more than $5 million for their victims.

As part of scheme, James and his co-conspirators defrauded victims across the U.S. by tricking them into wiring money to bank accounts the victims believed were owned by family members, friends, or business associates.

They did this in two ways: by overtaking an e-mail account of an individual trusted by the victim and then requesting money be wired to a bank account; or by developing a relationship of trust with victims like an Internet romance and then asking the victim to wire money.

As soon as the money was wired, it would be moved from one account to another, and the funds would be withdrawn.

James’s role in this scheme was to withdraw the money from bank accounts.

The California Golden Gate Bridge has a problem and that problem is its horrifyingly high suicide rates.

However, the community has a solution for this lingering problem; the erection of a net covering the perimeter of the bridge.

It may sound like a simple response to a complex problem, but the barrier is a big task.

In May, crews will begin to erect fencing along the approaches and tower legs, but that deterrent is only temporary.



From there, workers will take careful measurements to begin installing a net that extends 20 feet out along both sides of the 1.7-mile long bridge.

The installation will begin in 2018 and the Golden Gate Bridge, Transportation and Highway District expects construction to be completed in 2021.

And this isn’t your average net. It will be constructed from stainless steel; light enough to be inconspicuous, but strong enough to save lives.

Since the bridge was built in 1937, nearly 1,700 people have jumped to their deaths from it, according to the Bridge Rail Foundation, a group dedicated to stopping suicides from bridges.



The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District posted a video on Facebook to introduce the net project.

Costing $211 million to design, plan, and construct, the project is a group effort.

The funds are coming from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Caltrans, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, state mental health provisions and private donations.

It sounds like a high price, but for suicide prevention, it can have a big impact.

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California, said 39 people died last year alone by jumping from the bridge.

“What you’re doing here today, what the Bridge is doing, what the taxpayers are doing, will hopefully turn that number to zero.”

House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi echoed the statements in her address at the ceremony. “We are honoring a deep moral responsibility to save lives whenever and wherever we can.

But how does the net prevent suicides in the long term?

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District cited a 1978 Sieden study at the Golden Gate Bridge and a Harvard School of Public Health article.

So a net that saves a life today may offer more than just a chance at tomorrow.

A 19-year-old Nigerian student studying law at the Birmingham University, UK, Kika Onyibe, has been reported to have passed away.

The Nigerian student passed away on Wednesday, April 12th, during a surgery at a Lagos hospital.

Kika Onyibe went into surgery for ruptured appendix at the Lagos hospital and was reported to have suffered complications during the surgery which led to her death.

The deceased’s boyfriend, Emmanuel Ayoola, took to his social media page on Facebook to narrate how she had traveled from the UK to Nigeria to receive treatment for what she had thought was an infection.

A couple in the United States have were greeted with a shocking news from their doctor after several attempts at having a baby.

The couple were revealed to be biological twins following a DNA test conducted as part of steps to help them conceive.

Doctors were reported to have found out that the DNA from both couples looked so similar and hence conducted an investigation into it.

The twins who later ended up marrying were reported to have been separated at a young age after their biological parents died in an auto crash.

The church known as Louzolo Amour was founded by Guy Emile Loufoua Cetikouabo, who proclaims himself God, and claims to be invisible to his followers.

“What we want to share with the world, is that we found a person who has the three characteristics of God, omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient.

This church bases its doctrine on the consumption of beer which they believe can be used to cleanse evil spirits.

Uber seems to be getting into more trouble with alarming frequency these days, as another revelation about ethically questionable business practices by the company has been made public.

According to the Information, Uber has been secretly tracking Lyft drivers using an internal software program dubbed ‘Hell’.

The program not only lets Uber see how many Lyft drivers were available for rides and what their prices were but also figure out which ones were double-dipping by driving for Uber, too.

This meant Uber had data that made it easier to offer those drivers incentives to switch over to Uber exclusively.

The software was called Hell in reference to “God View,” its other tool for tracking the location of customers.

The report is yet another stain on Uber’s reputation, which has already been on a nose dive due to many indictments of sexual harassment and discrimination, an on-going court battle with Alphabet owned Waymo and the founder and CEO Travis Kalanick’s less than mature behavior in recent times.

According to Information, only a few people at Uber knew about Hell, including Kalanick, several other executives and data scientists.

Hell originated after Uber created fake rider accounts on Lyft and used software to trick Lyft’s system into thinking those riders were in certain locations. This allowed Uber to see the eight closest available Lyft drivers to each fake rider.

Then Uber executives realized that Lyft had assigned a numerical user ID to each of its drivers.

This development may drag Uber into another legal battle as a potential infringement of civil legal claims is directly related to the use of the program, the Information reports.

Nintendo Co. shares rose as much as 4 percent after the company said its new Switch console is off to a record-setting pace in the U.S. since its March 3 debut.

The new device sold 906,000 units in North America during March, according to industry researcher NPD Group, Bloomberg reports.

According to Nintendo, the gaming machine “sold faster in its launch month than any other video game system in Nintendo history.”

The record only applies to the U.S. market, not globally, a spokesman for the Kyoto-based company said.

The Switch has received praise for its console-tablet hybrid design that lets gamers play both in the living room and outside the house.

While its limited software lineup and graphics ability have been criticized, demand has consistently outstripped supply during the first six weeks of sales.

That’s buoyed investors who think the Switch is on track to a much bigger hit than the Wii, the company’s best-selling home console of all-time.

The stock, which has climbed about 12 percent since the beginning of March, was up 3 percent at 26,005 yen at 10:31 a.m. in Tokyo.

Atul Goyal, an analyst at Jefferies Group, estimates that 2.5 to 3 million units were sold globally in March, outpacing Nintendo’s target of 2 million. Nintendo is scheduled to report full quarterly figures on April 27, including sales forecasts for the coming fiscal year.

A pioneering judge, who became the first Muslim woman in US history to serve on the bench, was found dead Wednesday — washed up on the Manhattan side of the Hudson River, sources said.

Sheila Abdus-Salaam, 65, was discovered floating in the water near 132nd Street and Hudson Parkway at around 1:45 p.m., according to police sources.

Police had initially responded to a 911 call about a woman in the water of the Hudson around. They found an unconscious and unresponsive woman, who was later pronounced dead and identified as Abdus-Salaam.

Sources told The Post that Abdus-Salaam, who is an associate judge of the Court of Appeals, had been reported missing from her home in Harlem earlier in the day.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the incident is under investigation, according to a statement from the New York Police Department.

Abdus-Salaam had been an associate justice on the state’s Court of Appeals since her confirmation in 2013.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who appointed her to the state’s highest court, hailed her as a “trailblazing jurist whose life in public service was in pursuit of a more fair and more just New York for all.”

“She was a pioneer,” he said. “Through her writings, her wisdom, and her unshakable moral compass, she was a force for good whose legacy will be felt for years to come. I was proud to appoint her to the state’s highest court and am deeply saddened by her passing.”

In addition to being the country’s first Muslim female judge, Abdus-Salaam was the first ever African-American woman to be appointed to the state’s Court of Appeals.

After receiving her degree from Columbia Law School, she began her legal career working as a staff attorney at East Brooklyn Legal Services. Abdus-Salaam rose through the state ranks before eventually being elected to the Supreme Court in 1993.

She was then appointed to the Court of Appeals by Cuomo in 2013. Former US Attorney General Eric Holder, who went to Columbia with Abdus-Salaam, was in attendance for her historic swearing-in ceremony and described how she had “defined herself by her relentless pursuit of excellence” — while also managing to be a great dancer.

Abdus-Salaam’s death came the same week a prominent Chicago judge was killed outside his home Monday. A suspect in that case has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Judge Raymond Myles.

An American teen is dead after he accidentally shot himself while his friends watched on Instagram Live, according to local TV station WXIA. “I heard a big boom,” his mother Shaniqua Stephens said. “I couldn’t tell if it was a gunshot or what.”

Stephens had just watched her 13-year-old son, Malachi Hemphill, take out the trash Monday evening when she heard the gunshot.

She rushed upstairs with her daughter to find her son in a pool of blood. His phone was still streaming on Instagram Live.

“We kicked in the door. We found him just laying there in a pool of blood,” Stephens told the station. “My daughter screamed and said, ‘Mom turn his phone off!’ As I proceeded to look at his phone he was on Instagram Live.”

The teen was live on Instagram holding a gun when it suddenly went off. He was rushed to the hospital where he died. “There was about 40 to 50 kids outside,” she said. “I guess these were the kids that were watching on live that live in the area.

I guess when it happened they just ran over here.” Stephens informed WXIA that someone told Malachi to put a clip in the gun during the live video and he obliged. Stephens believes it was an accident and not a suicide.

Detectives are working to find out how Malachi got ahold of the gun.

14-year-old Danielle Bregoli is living the high life, which is why police just cited her for weed possession.

The girl who became an ‘overnight celebrity’ over the ‘cash me outside’ phrase was just busted for possession of marijuana.

Online sources report that she was at a friend’s house Wednesday in Boynton Beach, Florida, hanging outside when her friend pulled out a joint and lit it.

Police on patrol rolled by saw the girls and made their move.

However, Danielle insists that she wasn’t indulging when she was arrested.

Reports from TMZ indicates that the cops asked the 2 girls if they were both smoking weed but neither would rat out the other, so the cops gave both citations.

A disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended the Texas medical license of an orthopedic surgeon, Donald Okechukwu Ozumba, M.D., on Friday “after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare.”

44-year-old Dr. Ozumba, born in Nigeria, faces two charges of sexual assault. McKinney police arrested him on Mar. 31 and booked him at the Collin County Jail, where his bail was set at $50,000. He was released on Sunday.

According to the arrest warrant, the first victim contacted police in August of last year, alleging that the assault happened while she was at an appointment to have her IT band examined.

That woman told investigators that Ozumba touched her genitals during the exam.

Police interviewed another victim last week who accused Ozumba of sexually assaulting her while she was a patient in 2015.

She told police that the doctor exposed half of her genitals to check for internal fluid and told her he needed to rub in the medication he had injected under her left hip.

Ozumba massaged the area, then penetrated the woman’s genitals with his fingers and massaged her inside, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

The woman’s husband was sitting behind the doctor but couldn’t see what was happening,police said.

The woman told police that she contacted another doctor after the visit and asked whether what Ozumba had done was normal procedure.

The second doctor informed her that Ozumba was “absolutely not supposed to penetrate her vagina,” according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

Shortly after the visit, Ozumba asked the woman to download a messaging app and sent her a text asking what her favorite part of the procedure was, according to the affidavit.

The woman told police that she texted him back with a message that said “Not receiving a script,” then deleted the app.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured corps members passing out from the one year national service that loan facilities would still be available to them to start their businesses.

Mr Abdulrazak Salawu, the NYSC FCT Coordinator, said this while addressing the 3,468 corps members of the 2016 Batch `A’ Stream I during their passing out in Abuja on Friday.

Salawu, who noted that there were no white-collar jobs lined up, said financial institutions were still ready to grant loans to corps members who were interested in starting up and running their own businesses even after the service year.

“Financial institutions are still ready to give you loans even after your service year.

“The Bank of Industry, Heritage bank, even the NYSC Foundation is still ready to give you loans to start up your businesses.

“Some of you do not know what it means to pass out from national service until next month when the alert will not sound again; that is when you will remember that certainly you are no longer corps members and there is no N19,800 again.



“Because of that, we have prepared you through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (SAED); some of you, I am sure, are already making money.

“And if you need money to continue, the banks are still open to you.





“Try to be employers of labour, do not be job seekers; it is not easy to live in this present day Nigeria if you are not earning anything,” he said.

Salawu also urged the corps members to remain good citizens of Nigeria as the scheme had tried to imbue them with the spirit of selflessness, discipline, humility and self-reliance.

He said that out of the 3,468 corps members passing out, about 25 were given letters of commendation and awards.

Salawu said that the 25 corps members embarked on projects and participated fully in the community development service and programmes that impacted positively on the lives of people in their host communities.

He also said that the scheme did not hold its usual closing ceremony due to economic and security problems in the country.

“We did not hold a closing ceremony because we are looking at the security situation in the country; right now the economic situation is also not giving us the opportunity to go into serious ceremonies.

“These corps members are coming from different parts of the country and so we cannot give room for any unforeseen circumstances.

“That is why we gathered them here today so we can disperse them within the shortest possible time,” Salawu said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports Mr Salawu Akanni, a graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Ogun, was one of the recipients of the award.

Akanni had, during his service year, constructed three water piping systems for the Aghayapho Community and provided a directional signpost for the LEA primary school in the community.

He also rehabilitated the community water borehole, donated 10 wooden chairs to the LEA primary school and trained 40 students in Government Secondary School (GSS) Jabi on Sustainable Development Goals, among other projects. (NAN)

The Supreme Court in Russia has begun consideration of the Russian government’s move to place a ban on Jehovah Witness.

The move by the Russian government comes after it described the religious organisation which boasts of 175,000 members in Russia and 395 branches across the country an ‘extremist organisation’.

The Supreme Court’s review board began consideration of the Russian Government’s move a month after the Justice Ministry filed a lawsuit with it against the national headquarters of the country’s Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The Jehovah Witnesses organisation was however reported to have filed a counter suit against the Justice Ministry lawyers on Wednesday after the case’s hearing commenced.


The Jehovah Witnesses in the lawsuit filed described the action of the Russian Government as ‘unlawful’ and further asked that the court recognise its members as victims of political repression.

The case was adjourned after the court ruled that the request by the religious organisation was not part of its jurisdiction.

The hearing of the case between the Russian government and the Jehovah Witnesses will continue later today.

Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kante, has revealed that Arsene Wenger wanted to sign him for Arsenal, before he chose to join their London rivals last summer.

The France international was in demand after an impressive first Premier League season with Leicester City, but eventually signed for the Blues in a reported £32million deal.

Kante however admits he could have easily been playing for the Gunners, but felt he was more wanted at Stamford Bridge.

“With Arsenal there was an interest but not a big as other clubs,” Kante told Sky Sports.

“That is why I didn’t go to Arsenal and went to Chelsea.”

The 26-year-old has played in 29 of Chelsea’s 30 league games, with Antonio Conte’s side seven points clear at the top.
