TravelRe: Writing CIMA For Express Entry?? Lets Meet Here! by thelma76(f): 3:50pm On Feb 18, 2021
Just wanted to give this heads up. The rates are still 450:1 if you pay to CIMA's Nigerian bank account number. So far so good, this is the best rate I've seen since I started CIMA. I wish I had paid for my earlier exams that way, I'd have saved some naira at least.

So my advice is, if you have the money for your exam, I think you should take advantage of this, I doubt any other platform/option would give rates lower than 570 with these value fluctuations.

The prices keep going up. I saw an article talking about CIMA BA exam fees being reviewed to 100pounds per paper in 2021. Hmm, God help us

Hello. Yes I have used the Nigerian Bank account option. But their rates have been reviewed since January 30th I think. Contact Abiola Okai to confirm the current rate.

Good morning everyone. Please how can I get the link to the whatsapp/Telegram group. Really need all the ginger right now. Written my BA1 and BA4, on to BA3 right now but it's quite voluminous with all the ratios and differentiation of accounts (probably because of my science background).

Anyway, I think the group chat may come in handy right now. Anyone that can help, please assist with the link. Thank you!

Hello, good day. Trust you're doing well. Please, this BCS exam, was it the diploma in IT or the certificate in IT that you wrote ? Just searched for it on google and I'm a bit confused here. Thinking of writing it to boost my score as well.

rockstarB:
I wrote it too. It will boost your score with 33 points.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by thelma76(f): 6:13pm On Apr 18, 2020
Hello, you have some time before then to improve dear! 37 isn't bad at all! Dare I say, if you can get 37 in a practise test, you're close to 39 or 40 in the real exam. Some exercises are tougher than others so you can drop lower than usual sometimes, that's normal. Just keep practicing till there's a good average in sight!

jagaban17:
Guys. My IELTS exam is next month (hopefully it's not postponed). Hoping to max out the scores but I find it difficult to access my progress with my practices (i.e Reading and Listening). My scores vary so much ,I still get scores ranging between 37-29 with Cambridge practice Tests.. Please people, especially those that have aced it, Is this normal ?

How will like to know where I stand with these practice tests.

Thank you very much! It's God's grace oo. All the prayers I didn't pray before, it's Ielts that made me remember it grin. It was MOD. I'm not sure why there's a belief that BC is more complicated in marking, but I didn't want to find out by myself cheesy

Gifty28:
Hello, your scores are impressive. Was it Bc or Modhuh Heard Bc don’t give above 7 or 7.5
In speaking.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by thelma76(f): 6:05pm On Apr 18, 2020
Hello, goodevening. Sorry for my late response, I am just seeing this. Hmm, my scores in the practise tests for listening, used to range between 36-40. My first practise test score was the lowest of the range. Thereafter, I used to get at least 38/40.

This was really because I read the Test tips on different sites, read people's comments on ieltsliz about their experiences(areas of difficulty) and picked one or two tricks that helped before I actually attempted the practise test(the fear of paying that exam fee again was just in my head, even till the exam day, chai!). Also, I used the practise tests on YouTube and the cambridge practise answer sheet. For reading, on the other hand, I used to get lower scores (32-35 at most lol), I only scored higher than 35 maybe twice (I battled with the True,False,Not Given questions). But towards the exam, I read tips again and that was the period I got higher scores.

It may be the materials you're using, some of them are harder than the real exam! But I'd advise you continue with them to be honest, if you can get high scores in the practise tests, the exam would be a walk in the park literally! Well..can't say for writing and speaking though, since there's no way to score yourself before the exam. Don't panic, you're doing well! Dedicate more time/focus to the tests and you'd definitely exceed expectations.

jagaban17:
Please what were your scores like when you were practicing for the exam.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by thelma76(f):
Hello, in response to your question below, I used Ieltsliz, ieltsadvantage, The IELTS Listening Test on Youtube, Career zone ielts institute Moga India also on Youtube. I also downloaded sample answer sheets from the official ielts website (this helped in preparing me for the real deal, time management and all), did the available practise tests and that was it. Total prep time took about three weeks, since I was juggling this alongside my 9-5. Results came out as L-9, S - 8.5, R- 8.5, W- 7, Overall- 8.5.

P.S: I didn't practise writing until the day before the exam and I regret it till date. Do not make the mistake of underrating writing!! For speaking, just read through frequently asked speaking questions online, once you can get past the accent of the examiner, you'd be just fine! I got these pages based on recommendations here, thank you all for your contributions. Goodluck!

Please house, those of you who aced their IELTS test in just one attempt please which materials did you usehuh

Hello! Good day everyone. Been following this thread for some days now and I want to appreciate everyone who has chipped in, one way or the other and offered necessary assistance to the "prospective visitors" smiley

However, I need the most sincere advice anyone could give, on a particular issue. I am a 400l student here in Nigeria, expected month of graduation was December 2018, but due to the strike, I really do not know. I'm finishing with a good result so I have zero plans of absconding. I also own my cake store which was registered just few days back under the CAC. My "salary" from this business is just about 20-40k in a good month and I also have monthly allowance from my dad of N40k. Now, my aunties (one in UK;married, other in US; a nurse, married to a doctor-both citizens) have been suggesting I come visit for some time now but I just have never taken the suggestion seriously until recently.

However, I have no travel history but I also have no plans of staying more than 2 weeks max. I just want to visit and see my aunt and cousin(who's about same age with me, just turned 20). My dad would be sponsoring the trip(flight and maybe tiny shopping lol) but I would be staying with my aunt in the US for the duration of my visit. My dad earns about 600k monthly, has very good travel history (within and outside Africa), has worked with top companies, working with one at the moment, however my parents are separated, I also have two other siblings in school.
What do you think? Should I go on and apply to the US or try UK? Or just chill till I'm working and have my own stable income.

I'm not particular about visiting any other country(in case of building travel history) since I don't know anyone there and would probably be going alone. If yes to the above, the next puzzle is- my dad is also planning to apply for a visa to the US for a business trip. Should we apply together as in, "family" or are our visas different categories since we're both going for very different purposes?
Thank you very much, in anticipation for your wonderful opinions. *hoping the auspiciousness of the time posted, would bring in good comments grin*

Always try to see the positive side in every situation. Many of you might not get the admission this year cos of your scores, some of you will.To those who won't,this isn't the time to nurture envy, hate,or one thought that UI is biased,This isn't the time to hate yourself or develop depression, its a wake up call so you know how hard it is to be a Uite. However, many of you will run to private schools to make yourselves happy, experience that student feeling, many of you will go to schools that lack standards just because you can't face that shame of writing JAMB again,or you think your mates are ahead of you. Many of you will choose courses you're not comfortable with too.My advice is that, you take your time and choose well. UI is hard tbh, tbvh,Don't let anyone pressurize you,its your life at the end of the day,Don't accept what you don't like, the struggle inside the Skul is real, you might take one course you don't like and end up failing at the end of that year cos right from the start, you weren't ready for UI.this is a wonderful opportunity to go back, take lessons if possible, prepare yourself for a better post-utme score and aim for your desired course, come back a stronger and better aspirant so you won't rejoice now and cry later....use this time to build yourself,no knowledge is wasted, and you won't regret it later.A word is enough for the wise.

All those sciences get luck, i swear.. Dentistry iz just 61 !
God, why didnt i chose unilorin? Cla is 70. ! Ah. .. Mogbe!, how wil i do it now hen?

I gat one question tho, i had 61 in my post utme, the cut off for my course(c.l.a) is 70, the cut off for phsycology is 60.. Is it possible for me to do a coc and switch to phsycology ? I need answers please
cc lexyybooy and co, ur answers are needed please!
They don't have luck...the sensible explanation for the low cut off marks,is obviously cos of the mass failure that was recorded in this year's post utme, especially for the science students, so just as much as it is,a struggle for you to get CLA,be rest assured that many other science(lucky) students are facing the same struggle.

Please can anyone help me with the detail of UI 7 point grading system. What is the range of Fail, pass, 3rd class, 22, 21 and first class. Please I need it urgently. Thanks.
Each course has a fixed unit,it may be a 2,3,4,5unit course.Your individual score in each course is converted to points using this system. 0-39-Fail(0point) 40-44(1point) 45-49(2points) 50-54(3points) 54-59(4points) 60-64(5points) 65-69(6points) 70-100(7points) .whatever point you get inba course is multiplied by the unit of that course,For example,if you get 70 in a 4-unit course,70 is 7points,7x4units= 28.....this would be done for each course and the total points would be divided by the total units you're taking that semester to give you your GPA.UIs grading system is 6.0-7.0(GPA)-First class 4.6-5.9(2nd class upper) 2.6-4.5(2nd class lower) 1.6-2.5(third class Hons.) Less than 1.6(Pass)

thank you very much, I really appreciate, but what about the "automatic job" and "study and work scheme"?
The automatic job as well, those with first class though. The companies come to pick them I hearddd, from a stallite, the work and study scheme I'm not sure what that's about exactly though during orientation, the man said something abt "legal way for students to earn money while working" within the school, you know anything private business by a student is not allowed within the hostel and all so its their own way of assisting students if they really want to work to earn money.I guess.
