PoliticsRe: How Christian Leaders Hampered Boko Haram Fight by themaskedman: 6:14pm On Aug 12, 2015
What kind of dialogue is the Christian leadership supposed to engage in with Muslims when the Muslims leaders have till today refused to accept that boko haram members are Muslims? Muslims leaders and parents in the north have refused to accept that these misguided elements are their children and are representing Islam.
Bishop Oritsejafor has been consistent in calling for Muslims leaders to take responsibility for what has become of their children, I think that should be the foundation of any dialogue. Come to think of it what has the peace committee or whatever it's called headed by the Sultan of Sokoto and John Cardinal Onaiyekan achieved?
PoliticsRe: 10 Most Corrupt Countries In The World, Number 1 Will Shock You!! by themaskedman: 5:51pm On Aug 12, 2015
pharmagba:
The country that interest me most on the list is South Sudan. They cried for independent and got it now what has become of them.
The people clamoring for Biafra and their supporter should learn from this. This is a region that non of their leaders , with limited resources at their disposal have not been exceptional or above board. They claim Nigeria is unfair to them, yet leaders of this region have been unfair to their very own people. Another example is GEJ in 6yrs couldn't coordinate the cleaning of oil spillage in Ogoni land yet was son of the soil, OBJ couldn't build a good road to his very own house in Ota.
I used this diverse example not to be termed tribalism. Let us watch our leader and not be gullible in just following them. Charity begins at home.
What's your concern with Biafra? You shouldn't be crying more than the bereaved. The want independence and if you love them as much as you pretend to all you need do is give them independence and see what becomes of them. You talk about their leaders not been exceptional and above board, now tell me which region has produced leaders who have been all you accused the Biafrans of lacking? Now tell me how SW and Northern leaders have improved the lot of their people.
As far as I know the South Easterners have been far better than most other regions including even the South West, a region that has produced foremost industrialists like Innocent Chukwuma, Leo Stan Ekeh, and a host of other outstanding personalities cannot be accused of lacking it.
Finally I think it's very stupid to use South Sudan in the same light with Biafra, it's only a wicked and hate filled person that will find South Sudan the only example to use for Biafra. Many newly independent countries are doing so well some even better than your Nigeria. The likes of Bosnia Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovakia etc have all move ahead of your sh*t hole Nigeria.
Don't worry about Biafra, it can take care of itself.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Constitutes Advisory Committee On Anti-corruption by themaskedman: 1:56pm On Aug 11, 2015
Fourwinds:
Nomsense. many are corrupt.
Absolute nonsense, what evidence do you have against the many other than the fact that they refused to give Buhari victory at the Supreme Court which he even doesn't deserve.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Constitutes Advisory Committee On Anti-corruption by themaskedman: 7:56am On Aug 11, 2015
Advisory Committee on Corruption? What is the committee really going to advice on?
Who to go after or the number of years they spend in prison? I really don't understand.
There are already govt agencies saddled with the task of the fight against corruption, why not truly empower and strengthen them for more efficiency? Constituting an advisory committee when there are well defined roles for EFCC, ICPC and the courts smacks of cluelessness and waste of resources in an 'empty treasury'.
Secondly, Buhari needs to be adviced not to start a fight against the bench for he will turn out worse for it. Disrespecting judges because he lost his appeal doesn't bode well for harmonious relationship between the executive and judiciary. That's that arrogance we who know him very well have always talked about.
He needs to be reminded that at the end of the day, those judges he has disrespected will be the ones to decide the final fate of his anti corruption rule.

pendy79:
If I follow your argument and line of thought, you think and feel he deserved what he got?

If your other quote of my post is brought to bear here, you will agree with me that there is need to douse the racial/religious tension in Taraba state. Little acts like this end up throwing up a whole town in conflagration.

Religion has been scaled up as basis of everything in.Taraba state now based on the infighting between the political class. There is so much mistrust amongst people of the state. That is my argument the need to.curb things like this from happening. If the man was in police custody why lynch him there,.that's my point.
It's very ridiculous to suggest I support his death. You are right about the mutual mistrust among the people but brother it was a mob attack as sponteneous as it gets. Kasimu as the responsible and kind hearted gentleman he's reported himself to the Pupule Police post instead of driving for 5 more kilometres to a more secured police station at Zing or even the college campus in Zing too. The mob didnt know whether he was Muslim or Christian, all they cared is he killed their children. The College has been shut down meanwhile because the people are threatening to attack staff who ply that route daily Muslim and Christian.
PoliticsRe: Lecturer Lynched, Burnt Alive For Killing Five Pupils by themaskedman: 11:55pm On Oct 24, 2014
pendy79:
Bro you don't need to. Do you know how many containers laden with loads overturn on people and end up killing and maiming them in lagos and other places.

If it was a mob action, it will be instanteneous and driven by compassionate anger and a clear cut belief that the killing of the children was a deliberate terrorist act by the driver.

If the driver was taken to a police station as reported, and was taken out by an irate mob for lynching then you should know that it was simply an act of vengeance and not based on what truly happened at the scene. Mob action is immediate and instant, if that was the case he would have been lynched and killed at the scene of the accident not at a police station.

My views, my opinion. God rest the souls of all the dead. May his vengeance be upon all those who participated in the killing of this man if he is not guilty but if he killed those kids deliberately, let the pain he went through in life be just a beginning of all the pains he will.suffer on judgement day.
Pls quit this line of thought, it's ridiculous.
PoliticsRe: Lecturer Lynched, Burnt Alive For Killing Five Pupils by themaskedman: 11:50pm On Oct 24, 2014
pendy79:
The truth of the matter is that there is so much division along religious lines in the country now. He was killed because he was unfortunate to be an hausa man/Muslim in a more Christian dominated community where people attach sentiments and religious bias to issues.

May God rest his soul and those of the kids he killed accidentally. All that is needed to stir up s mob is to call him a boko haram member sent to kill Christian children. It is such a pity the way the country has been polarised, the repercussion of this over time is yet to be seen except the incoming GMB administration douse religious fanatism that has been a hallmark and celebrated political tool of this administration.
It's better you don't talk about what you don't know about. Kasimu's death is very unfortunate but to suggest he was killed because he was Hausa/Muslim is also very unfortunate. Perhaps you do not know that he was travelling with another Muslim in the car when the accident occured, so if his death was about religion why wasnt the other guy lynched as well. The spot where the accident happened is a hotbed for crisis because there are many people idling around both Christians and Muslims.
PoliticsRe: The Truth About 'Lagos' Sunburn Yacht Hotel by themaskedman: 5:18pm On Jan 05, 2014
Sometimes it‘s better to just keep quite. The edo girl has just disgraced her self and plenty of her likes on nairaland. Tinubu and Buhari will surely be raging mad now.

They don't need the igbos to win the presidential election.
We shall see how far they go without the Igbo.
PoliticsRe: Will Igbos Discard Jonathan Should APC Field An Igbo Presidential Candidate? by themaskedman: 4:05pm On Jan 05, 2014
APC field an Igbo candidate? In Nigeria or in dreamland?

APC is so tribalistic that it won‘t field a Christian as a candidate talk more of an Igbo.

Anyway like Noblezone said even if APC field me as its presidential candidate I will still vote for Jonathan.

Your writing this stupid nd hate laced piece is indeed an insult to nairaland. I‘m not surprised anyway cos you are from the Igbo hating tribe west side of the Niger. Am sure you are pained that neither Obafemi Martins nor Dele Alampasu got a mention.

Incase you don‘t know you can open a new thread on Jonathan‘s tenure in Bayelsa so you don‘t derail this one.

Secondly, nobody is criticizing Amaechi here, he has done well for Rivers but claiming that Jonathan hasn‘t done a single project for Rivers is what this thread sets out to counter. Do you get it now?
PoliticsRe: See What Jonathan Has Deliberately Done For Rivers State by themaskedman: 2:31am On Dec 31, 2013

Ow that ASUU has called off its strike you need to get back to school son and learn the art of good reasoning. You are so lacking in logic that I‘m ashamed.

This thread is about Amaechi and his lies ok.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Projects In Rivers State,a Response To Amarchi's Lies And Propaganda by themaskedman: 2:16am On Dec 31, 2013
Perhaps Amaechi thought everyone was as stupid as him. To have challenged the President to show what he has done in reciprocation of Rivers 2.1 million vote in the face of all these projects is the worst form of politics.

Jonathan sef sometimes dey tire me. You get all these in Rivers naim you go keep quite. Tell the whole world what you have done for Amaechi and shut his mouth for goood.

dan jalingo: Jalingo - Kona - Lau road in Taraba state has been abandoned by the fake Amitec Global International. please rearward the road and Jonathan will win our vote in 2015, even with APC and Cohdin put together.
That road makes me sick especially between Road Block and Mayo Dasa. My car always dances fuji whenever I‘m on that road. The FG needs to do something seriously asap.

Most cities in Nigeria today aren‘t planned. People just buy land and build houses without supervision from the relevant Ministries of Urban and Rural Development.

The only enemies of Jonathan I know are those like you and Obasanjo who feel threatened by the giant strides in all sectors of the economy. People like me and millions of other well meaning Nigerians keep urging him on to do more. You and ur paymasters will surely be disgraced that I promise you.

Great job my President. If Olusegun Mariama Ba Okikiola Obasanjo had concentrated on his job instead of writing So Long a Letter, we would have been passed this stage long ago.

Femi Fani Kayode should cover his face in shame infact shut his mouth forever. Imagine if he had done his job then.

PoliticsRe: I Will Never Contest Elections Again - Buhari by themaskedman: 8:20am On Dec 21, 2013
SUGURU: BUHARI always makes his position known, when he changed his mind he announced that it was as a result of pressure by his followers. GEJ has not said anything!
He hasn‘t said anything and yet you people are up in arms threatening fire and blood id he contests.
Jonathan didn‘t swear an oath not to contest just like Buhari didn‘t and both are free to change their minds if it serves their purpose. You can‘t stop Jonathan from contesting as I can‘t stop Buhari if he wants to come out, the only power I have over him is denying him my vote which I surely must God‘s willing.

I don‘t care whether Buhari contests or not, what I know is that I will still vote against him whether he contests or not.

Thank God Jonathan pays us to feed our families. @op what do you get for all the hard work you do for APC and Tinubu and co? Nothing and thats why you look so haggard, rough, hungry and unkept. You launder their images on nairaland for nothing and their bank accounts keep growing. That shows Jonathan has a heart.

Oga Jona abeg increase our allawi, there are so many hungry and angry APC e-rats who we need to recruit.

PoliticsRe: Okonjo-Iweala To Present 2014 Budget To National Assembly by themaskedman: 5:46pm On Dec 18, 2013
The President isn‘t obliged or do I say it‘s not mandatory for him to personally present the budget before the joint meeting of the NASS. Section 67 (1) makes it clear that “The President MAY attend any joint meeting of the National Assembly or any meeting of either House of the National Assembly, either to deliver an address on national affaird, including FISCAL MEASURES, or to make such statements on the policy of government as he considers to be of national importance.“

Lets be guided by the 1999 Constitution. The President hasn‘t breached any provision of the constitution.
