museveni:And who is Baba that Ekweremadu cannot sit with to discuss his policies? What policies has your Baba to start with? The Senate belongs to the people of Nigeria and not APC or PDP or even your Baba. |
How much does a train ride from Lagos to Osogbo cost that the people can't pay themselves? Why waste the little available to the govt providing a service the people can ordinarily provide themselves? TBH, Osun people deserve what they are getting from this clown of a governor. Look the boy in the face and tell him to go to hell with his free train ride. Tell him to pay your salaries and then you can even afford to fly to Osun. |
I hate to call Okorocha an idiooot but that's what he's. Imagine the iddiioot saying he would have been a governor since 1979, for God's sake how old was this clown in 1979? Who knew him in 1979? Isn't it an insult on the Igbo for this guy to utter this rubbish, you would have been governor instead of De Sam or even Collins Obi of NPN? This clown must be high on nshi aturu. |
bettercreature:Without sounding immodest, my 'mere father' in his hustle has produced six graduates 2 of whom today are Master degree holders and 2 PH.D holders but that's beside the issue here. Each time we are enjoined to respect him because of his age but here we have somebody who doesn't respect himself. A person who respects himself appreciates his strength and weakness, he knows what he's capable of doing and leaves those he isn't capable of to those who can. Obviously your president doesn't know this. |
kokoA:What's there to read other than your dullard of a president being petty. The state govt has explained that the highway won't cut through the park bug will be several kilometres away and that the EIA is being handled by a reputable firm. You don't think the CRSG will be foolish enough not to take all that into consideration before going ahead with the project. Because your president is dull and brainless he shouldn't think every other person is. |
The Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Professor Chidi Odinkalu, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reveal his plans for Nigeria for the nation in the country instead of revealing his plans during his visits to foreign countries. Speaking to legal luminaries during a conference to brainstorm on the roles of Integrity and Accountability in National Development in Abuja on Wednesday, the NHRC Chairman, said the era of change which the President has launched requires that he carries Nigerians along first. Professor Odinkalu said the President’s trend of announcing his plans in foreign countries is inconsiderate of the needs of Nigerians, who elected him into office and deserve to know his plans for governance without reading or hearing about them in the foreign media. The event was also set to create a dialogue for national renewal by overhauling the country’s integrity system to ensure accountability. The thrust of discussion was that development in Nigeria can neither be advanced nor sustained while impunity and lack of accountability are allowed in the public service and government at all levels. Professor Odinkalu said the change needed to instill integrity that will cause development will be led by the President, who he said will start by talking to Nigerians. Other speakers at the event observed that there are many challenges that Nigeria needs to tackle; chief among them insecurity, unemployment, infrastructure, health and education. He, however, maintained that any effort made to set these sectors right towards development would be unsuccessful without integrity and accountability across board. http://www.channelstv.com/2015/09/16/reveal-your-plans-to-nigerians-not-foreigners-odinkalu-tells-buhari/ |
adellam16:What tribe is Delta? |
The op is the biggest phooollll I have ever seen on nairaland. You call them Delta Igbo but then ask that they not be claimed as Igbo. If the Igbo don't claim them who will? Perhaps the Hausa kwo? You are indeed a phooolll. Just like there are Igbo residing in Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi and Abia so are there Igbo residing in Delta, Rivers, Benue states and non is more Igbo than the other. The Igbo in the South East are seperated by their kit and kin in the South South and North Central by mere administrative convenience. Ifeanyi Okowa is Igbo the same way Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Okezie Ikpeazu are. |
tucky200:I just came back from Panya, can you be kind enough to tell me the areas in which these results are being recorded? |
Aren't these Bayelsan APC folks crazy? They don't want Bayelsa to be used as a launching pad against Buhari's govt but they were comfortable and infact supported the use of states like Kano, Borno, Zamfara etc as launching pad against the erstwhile govt of Jonathan. It's only a guilty mind that entertains such thoughts, never want to be done to what you do to others. APC is just crazy I swear. |
fromnigeria:You see we need to start from demanding from these governors owing workers' salaries what they did with state resources handed over to them. Time there was when Aregbesola told us that that the IGR of the state stands at N16 billion monthly and that he doesn't need the FG to pay workers' salaries. What me to him owing the workers'? |
fromnigeria:This is very wicked coming from you and I can't believe you said it. There's no reason why Aregbesola mustn't pay the workers their full salary after all the bail out money he received is for that. Why punish workers for your incompetence at management of state resources? Times are hard yet top govt officials still live in stupendous opulence, times are hard yet Aregbesola, his family and aides live on three square meals a day while poor civil servants can't even find a meal a day to take. Did the workers make a mistake working for the state? |
uboma:Unfortunately this no way for us to determine whether you didn't vote for Buhari as you claim but the fact remains that declaring one's assets before the CCB is the basic constitutional requirement which must suffice. One doesn't break any law if he fails to publicly declare his assets, that I'm sure you and the president know. Wike has fulfilled the requirement and that ends it. You see I have always asked how declaration of assets and of course the public one Buhari claims to have done stop corruption. If I declare my assets before assuming a position, is there any constitutional demand on me to declare when leaving that office? Isn't it necessary that I declare when leaving so the world could know whether I enriched myself through my office or not? Thus like Wike said every declaration private or public becomes useless when you are dishonest with what you claim. |
Always trying to appear relevant, why don't you face your duties in Edo and let Nigerians have peace. In all the years Jonathan was president he never denied any state its monthly allocation and he never owed federal civil servants. State governments all got their allocations every month and so it's incumbent on Oshiomole to tell Nigerians why his colleauges like Aregbesola and Suswan couldn't pay their workers even when their allocations was regular. There are states both PDP and APC controlled that were faithful to the payment of workers salaries even in the shortfall in revenue, so why did Aregbe and his brother in crime Suswan fail to pay, Oshiomole you are closer to them than we are, can you explain? |
uboma:He doesn't need to promise that as deceitful Buhari didn't need to promise public declaration. Wike has fulfilled the basic constitutional requirement just like Buhari did but promising public declaration was aimed at deceiving the gullible like you to vote for him. Nobody outside the constitution is going to compel anybody to make public declaration of assets. Buhari can't force that on anyone as he lakes the constitutional backing. If he does that we will freeze his ar×× at the court of law. |
A Nigerian fugitive, Abdul Adewale Kekere-Ekun, who was arrested on February 12 this year by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFFC), for identity theft-related offences, was today sentenced to life imprisonment in the United Kingdom for the murder of Marcus Hall, 18, in 2001, following a scuffle outside Luton’s Atmosphere Nightclub, where the popular music group, So Solid Crew, performed earlier. Kekere-Ekun, 39, with many aliases like Adebayo Dalvin James Ekun, Adeba Yo Kekere-Ekun, Adeba Yo Muta Lito Kekere-Ekun, James Dalvin, James Adebayo, had initially pleaded guilty to the murder charge before the Luton Crown Court, but he later fled to Nigeria. A statement by EFCC Spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, said he was, however, arrested in Nigeria in February by the commission. "During investigation, it was revealed that Kekere-Ekun, who was arrested for fraud, was on the wanted list of the UK Police. "Consequently, an extradition notice signed by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, was served on him by the EFCC. "He was finally extradited back to the United Kingdom, where he reportedly admitted to the killing. "Before his conviction today, seven of the gang members had been convicted in 2002 and 2003 for their part in Hall's murder, but two convictions were later quashed. "Revealing how he had been traced, the Bedfordshire Police said he was identified in CCTV footage of the attack, where he was wearing a distinctive checked coat. "Upon discovery of a flyer for the shop found by the Bedfordshire Police during a raid on his home, detectives went to a designer clothes store in London, where it was discovered that the jacket was one of only nine sold in the United Kingdom and the convict was listed as one of the buyers." After the sentencing, Mr. Hall's mother, Icelyn Wilson, in a statement issued through the Bedfordshire Police, said: ‘‘My son's death still hurts as if it had happened yesterday and I will never get over it. ‘‘You did not just ruin one life, you left a 'ripple effect' which has impacted on everyone involved in my son, Marcus' life." http://collinsssundayokobi..com/2015/09/murder-nigerian-fugitive-kekere-ekun.html?spref=fb |
The quantity of oil in Geisha and Sardine increases as Buhari orders probe of the oil sector: Aregbesola |
cooldays:If you have any evidence of the money stolen BG Jonathan why not approach the court and get a conviction instead of all these media plays. Buhari should stop all the noise and take Jonathan to court if he has evidence. |
Jesusloveyou:Even when no money was 'missing' did you have 24 hrs supply of electricity? Were all your roads paved and tarred even when no money was missing? Why was the Benin-Shagamu road a death trap during OBJ when no money was missing? Stella Obasanjo died in a Spanish hospital when no money was missing, Year Adua died in a Saudi hospital when we had no money missing and all the hospitals in Nigeria were first class. Why didnt our schools look like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, UBC Vancouver, Oxford, Cambridge when no money was missing? Why did we have almajiris and beggars on all streets of Nigerian towns and cities when no money was missing. At what time in Nigeria have we had all Nigerians eating three square meals a day? Even between Jan 1984 and August 1985 when Nigeria was a paradise and no money missed was their constant suplly of electricity? What was the price of fuel then? One to think of it, why is fuel still selling at more than #100 a liter now that no money is missing? Why haven't there being an upgrade in facilities in those schools Jonathan 'ran down' because he stole? Why do beggars still accost me each time I drive into a filling station to buy fuel now that Nigeria is paradise and everyone has something to eat? You guys should just advice the dullard to face governance squarely and stop chasing shadows. |
Trees previous govts spent millions to plant and maintain is what this illiterate marafoker is cutting down because he lacks idea how to protect the naira, what a shame. Let me remind the phoool that those trees he's cutting down were planted for the beautification of the city and also against desert encroachment. Must you destroy the earth to protect the naira? How about sending the police and other security agencies to flush them out if you feel their operation is responsible for the fall in the value of the naira? When you told us you were going to make the naira equal to the dollar, we knew you were crazy and had no idea what you were saying, but we didn't know you plan of success is even more crazy and idiotic than the idea itself. In other places, the earth is being conserved and protected against the elements but here a brainless dullard is opening us to harm and destruction. It's so unfortunate we have to live with this mess for the next four years. |
IbnSultaan:How are they not supposed to know who he's in a world of intel? Your excuse is rather pathetic to say the least. I do not know the reason the reason behind granting him the visa but doing so at a time like this sends brains cracking. I hope it's not what I'm thinking. |
A radical Muslim cleric, Ahmad al-Assir has been arrested by Lebanese authorities as he attempted to leave Lebanon to Nigeria via Cairo. Assir was apprehended while attempting to travel with a fake Palestinian passport and a valid Nigerian visa at the Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport early Saturday, August 15, 2015 in Lebanon, according to a statement released by General Security. Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reports that Assir, who was travelling with another man, was holding a fake passport in the name of Rami Abdul Rahman Taleb, while his companion was holding a passport in the name of Khaled Sidani. The driver who drove Assir to the airport in a Mercedes Benz was later arrested. ALSO READ: Break Down Of Boko Haram’s Killing Spree Since Buhari Assumed Office (DETAILS) Unconfirmed reports said Assir had shaved off his beard and undergone facial surgery. An unverified photo has been circulating in the Lebanese media purporting to show Assir without his signature bread, and it appears that he has had plastic surgery. Sheikh Assir has been on the run for two years. He was declared wanted in Lebanon in 2013 when his followers clashed with the Lebanese army killing at least 18 soldiers. The radical cleric was relatively unknown prior to the outbreak of the Syrian war in 2011. But, he quickly gained notoriety as a “a self-proclaimed defender of Sunni rights” due to his fiery anti-Hezbollah rhetoric. Hezbollah is Lebanon’s Shia movement which backs Syria’s President Assad. He had been recruiting his followers to join the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) in Syria fighting against Assad’s government. Violence broke out in 2013 when one of Assir’s men was caught with unlicensed weapons in his car at a military checkpoint in Sidon, south of Beirut. In reaction, Assir’s followers opened fire on the soldiers manning the checkpoint sparking a two-day battle between his militants and the army. According to reports, machine guns and rockets were used on the Lebanese troops by Assir’s men in fierce fighting which ended with at least 18 soldiers and 40 militants dead. Heavy weapons and military-style uniforms were discovered in Assir’s compound. Assir is regarded as media savvy and is known for his publicity stunts. ALSO READ: Electing Buhari Would Be A Disaster For Entire Africa – US Envoy Alexander Mukhtar Dan’Iyan, the editor-in-chief of the 15Past8 Media Group based in New York City, who goes by the name @MrAyeDee on Twitter, says that Assir is the ”unofficial de-facto Emir of ISIS in Lebanon”. Assir’s fugitive status and his links with ISIS raise serious questions for the Nigerian government. How would a radical Muslim cleric, a fugitive linked to ISIS be granted a Nigerian visa on a fake Palestinian passport? What was Assir’s mission in Nigeria? Who are his contacts in Nigeria? Who was he communicating with in Nigeria? Where was he planning to stay in Nigeria? Most importantly, who granted his visa and based on what recommendations? The deadly terrorist group, Boko Haram which has killed over 60,000 in Nigeria and displaced millions from their homes in North Eastern Nigeria had last year declared allegiance to ISIS. The group recently spread its operations to neighbouring countries President Muhammadu Buhari promised to crush Boko Haram in two months after he took office in May. However, there has been no success story against the terrorist group since Buhari was sworn into office. Jesusloveyou:Kiddo perhaps you do not realize the moral burden that promise places on Buhari. While no law (not any I know of) demands a public declaration of assets, a promise made especially that made to win votes must be kept. Buhari presents himself as a man of integrity but I believe there's no integrity in denying what you and everyone know you promised to do. The first step in rebuilding Nigeria which he claims to do is keeping faith with us, doing as he promised. He needs to build confidence and trust to enable Nigerians work with him to effect the change he promised. |
Do I need to remind Femi Adesina that people voted for Buhari not just because of what he (Buhari) promised to do but also because of what his party APC which he represents promised he was going to do. A candidate campaigns on the manifesto of his party and his party ideology he's supposed to live by so I do not see any difference between what Buhari said and what APC said. Come to think of what why didn't Buhari counter the promise statement when it was made publicly if he knew he wasn't going to do it? He and his party used it to scam Nigerians and now the tunes have changed. I thank God I never bought into the change nonsense. |
I don't see anything wrong with what Bishop Kukah said that should warrant the nonsense from Lie Mohd and APC. Kukah and his committee do not support corruption as we all know but rather the probe the govt is embarking on shouldn't be used to intimidate perceived political opponents. The age long statement that all is innocent until proven guilty should apply here. You don't go about calling one a thief when you haven't convicted him of any crime. The APC govt should just start the probe and stop all the noise on the media. |
mogentle:You see if everyone keeps quiet the way you suggest, these governors who see themselves as lords will continue to mess things up. May I ask you if teachers don't speak out against the rot and mismanagement of the system who will. To your question, I'm am academic and have at various times spoken against perceived and obvious wrongs. Ever heard of academic freedom? A governor was elected by the people to take care of their welfare and so should tolerate their criticisms, any governor who doesn't tolerate criticisms isn't worthy of being one. |
ademate: mogentle:You guys need to have your head checked well. Where in the world should a worker not criticize the govt just because he works for the govt? So because we work for the govt we all should keep quiet while things go wrong? |
pharmagba:To start with I have not been being a proponent of Biafra the way Nnamdi Kanu is but what irked me is your reference to South Sudan in relation to Biafra. Talking about political leaders, the north and south west have ruled this country for close to 50 years, so do you think if those northern and south western leaders have been exceptional and above board Nigeria would have been where it still is today? The north and south west have produced more presidents/heads of state, more ministers and heads of govt parastatals than the south east and these are the people who have shaped Nigeria the way it is now. Now mention those leaders from your region who have being above board and I will tell you thousands of Igbo leaders who are. |
Sorry to ask this, why did the Ooni have to die in London? Does it mean there's no good hospital in Osun State with an IGR of over 1billion that could have treated him? In all these years Aregbesolaand his fellow deceivers were shouting change, so hospital good enough was built? Shame. |
He should just constitute his cabinet and get on with governance, all these talks are getting boring already. |
vedaxcool:And what have the Muslims themselves done to arrest the situation? You people should stop blaming others and accept responsibility for once. All through BH onslaught against the Nigerian people I haven't seen any decisive and bold attempt Muslims leaders have made to arrest the situation. You may recall the role Niger Delta elders played in stopping militancy not to talk of what Igbo leaders did when Osisikankwu was terrorizing Abia and neighbouring states. |
Smh.. ignorance.
