Police shouldn't have any business with Road Worthy Certificate. They are not Road Safety Officials or VIO. Ignore any police that demands that. Police can demand for Vehicle license, insurance, driver's license and maybe proof of ownership, not road worthiness. It's none of their business

The car is okay, though more fuel consumption than a regular corrola. So long as the car is registered in Nigeria, it can be used for this business in Lagos. Third party insurance is good enough.

As for profitability, he can definitely feed himself and his wife. He only has to be on the road on a daily basis. He will be fine in the interim if he owns the car while on the lookout for something sustainable in the long term.

By the way, which testimony are you talking about? Fuel consumption and car repairs takes nearly 70percent of income. It's a business of survival, side gig and a few that are on suicide mission driving day and night like a few ignorant fools on Telegram. Fares are woefully bad, that I know. back to everything you said, you claimed mechanics are scared to touch your car due to the CNG kit, I don't know how truthful this is, but I've seen someone brought CNG powered vehicle to my mechanic and he wasn't afraid or reluctant to fix the vehicle for the owner.

additionally, everything I said about CNG has been everyone's submissions about CNG, even Gazzuzz(RIP) also said similar things about CNG, I'm surprised you have a different experience...

There's no point arguing over this. A first hand user with a first hand experience has spoken, it could be one in as many not too pleasant experiences.

Personally, I've never really liked the idea of CNG conversion, it seem very crude and way out of car manufacturers purview.

You are very correct. What will make a driver pick a trip of 1k or 2k on Indrive if not madness with present rate of inflation and fuel cost? I wonder what such a person stand to gain. Is that fare for labour or fuel? I'm not sure any self respecting human being will even do that but this is normal on Indrive. What sort of hunger pushes them to that level? Seriously, a cart pusher in Lagos will not take such as payment to convey your goods, same distance using his wheelbarrow.

Yeah, but the 10k trip on Indrive depending on distance is far and few. Most of their trips are time based and not about distance I have noticed. Would you take a trip.of 10k from Ikeja to Ajah just because it's 10k? This is what Indrive looks like on an average day.

Bolt wants 25% commission n you set up stupid fares. Uber likewise charges up to 33% commission and you expect drivers to take your dirty fares.
Average price of petrol in lagos is 980/litre. That's roughly 1,000 naira per litre.

If you ignore Uber and Bolt and continue picking shitty fares on Indrive, what sense is there? The main culprit here is Indrive, they are the destructive element here. Uber and Bolt are simply trying to be at pair with them in other not to lose their market shares. The drivers too that don't have the mentality to ignore trips on Indrive are largely part of the problem.

But then again, looking at the unemployment rate and hunger out there, some of these drivers don't care. If it's 5k they take home a day after 10hrs of hard labour, most will not mind. App companies are using these to their own advantage. Take Indrive out of the equation and there might just be some respite. If there has to be any protest, it should have started from the root cause of the problem which is Indrive.
