Just to correct this thing on pricing. It's still N250/SCM at mother stations. Mother stations have existing pipeline infrastructure and can receive gas directly from say Escravos.

Mother stations store and distribute gas to daughter stations using CNG tankers. Because of the cost of transportation, daughter stations have to sell at N450/SCM.

It's very similar to the way NNPC or major marketers receive fuel directly from vessels and sell cheaper compared to independent marketers.

The reason for the wide disparity in price difference compared to petrol is that, CNG requires expensive and specialised tankers to transport it and you can't transport it for more than 500km at once.

Before middle of next year, it will enter 600 per kg or even more.

My brother, this N450 is just a tip of the iceberg. It's going to climb oo. We don't have a government that can control anything in this country. People should just manage themselves as much as they can to avoid regrets. Because you go carry your hand convert, na you go still unconvert that car after a few months. Not to mention the likelihood of your car engine having issues and breaking down or not working optimally.

The price of CNG will continue to go up and will hit the roof in the nearest future. It's not an option worth considering if you ask me.

Instability in Nigeria, inflation, Naira losing value, profiteering are the drawbacks. The cartels are waiting for more people to convert before they strike up the price even higher than expected. Use your head and don't waste your money on conversion. It's not even worth a debate if you understand the country you live in.

Cars with smaller engines are the only option it seem. Likely not going to get anything reasonable out of the business driving an old car with a 2.4 engine these days, it's no rocket science

My reasons for leaving the business boil down to two main factors.

Firstly, it's challenging to find trustworthy partners in this business as an investor. No matter how transparent and open you intend to be, there are always individuals who exploit the situation. The last person I collaborated with almost renewed my faith in the business, but by then, it was too late. Lovely guy he is!

Secondly and most importantly, the returns on investment in this business are no longer viable. The high cost of vehicles—imagine purchasing a 7 million Naira vehicle and then earning 40,000 to 50,000 Naira weekly with driver insulting and playing on your intelligence.
Moreover, the time it takes to recover your capital, let alone make a profit, is too long. There are other investments offering similar or better returns within a shorter timeframe.

Regarding your question about if I have done well in the business, I can't definitively say. E-hailing was intended to diversify my income streams rather than serve as a primary source, so the earnings were primarily used to cover incidental expenses.

Simply put, with 20k fuel, you are going to gross about 40k minus commission on an average day. This is the reality as of today. Quite simple and clear.

On a fast lane bro. Must have been about 12k fuel. Was a little below half tank when I started. Usually fill up my tank. Could have made more than 50k from it and could have gone past 100k if I continued driving till 7pm and bought additional fuel. Roads were free

Just a demonstration that there's no hard and fast rule to the game, just be street smart, firm and have basic awareness .
