Cristiano Ronaldo secured an away goal for Juventus as they drew the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Ajax.

Ronaldo, who has won the competition five times, netted his 125th goal in the competition with a diving header following Joao Cancelo's cross just before half-time.

The goal had come against the run of play, but the hosts equalised within a minute of the second half through David Neres' fine curling effort from 15 yards.

Both teams had late chances with Ajax's Jurgen Ekkelenkamp having a shot saved before Juventus substitute Douglas Costa hit the post.

But neither side could grab a winner and they meet in the second leg in Turin on Tuesday, 16 April.

The winners of the tie face either Tottenham or Manchester City in the semi-finals, with Mauricio Pochettino's side holding a 1-0 advantage after Tuesday's first leg in London.

Barcelona take a narrow advantage into the home leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Manchester United after Luke Shaw turned a Luis Suarez header into his own net at Old Trafford.

The video assistant referee came to Barca's rescue after the Uruguayan was initially - and incorrectly - flagged offside when his nod back across goal went in off the defender's shoulder.

United had their chances to draw level but Diogo Dalot missed their best opportunity when he failed to direct his header on target from Marcus Rashford's fine cross.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side must now beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp to progress to the semi-final, something they have never achieved.

The bad news for Manchester United is that Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi have both been producing heroics on a regular basis recently.

Between them, they have scored 14 goals in the last six games (10 for Messi, four for Suarez), with Messi taking his tally for the season to 43 goals in 40 games (he also has 17 assists).

Many observers believe this could so far be Messi's best season yet, and the only real justification for thinking he might be 'in decline' is if you haven't actually watched him play.

Barcelona have only lost once in all competitions since 23 January and are 11 points clear at the top of La Liga.

Juventus are just one point away from winning an eighth successive Serie A title, but they have failed to win the Champions League since 1996.

Cristiano Ronaldo, 34, has been sidelined since he was injured playing for Portugal in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Serbia on 25 March.

The Portuguese forward was bought last July to help Juventus attempt to become champions of Europe, the Italian club having reached two of the past four finals.

Allegri says Ronaldo will start at the Johan Cruyff Arena "as long as nothing happens".

President Muhammadu Buhari says it is ridiculous to suggest that he is indifferent to killings in Nigeria.

He also reassured Nigerians that ending banditry remains a key priority of his administration and he would do whatever it takes to ensure the country's security system confronts these public enemies with merciless determination.

Speaking on the recent spike in reported incidents of banditry and kidnappings in some parts of the country, Buhari condoled with all those affected by the unfortunate events, stating that he is one of the unhappiest leaders in the world.

A statement by Garba Shehu, the President's spokesman, quoted Buhari as stating that: "How can I be happy and indifferent to the senseless killings of my fellow citizens by bandits? I am human and I understand the pains of the victims and their families who have been traumatized and impoverished by constant ransom demands by bandits.

"The politicisation of tragedy reveals the darkest sides of our primitive politics. Almost every week, I summon my security chiefs to get an update on the strategies being devised to defeat these mass murderers.

"There is no issue that dominates my mind every 24 hours like security because, as an elected President, protecting the citizens of my country is one of the primary functions of my administration.

A blade of the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) helicopter on Saturday killed Umaru Abdul Ganimu, an aircraftman, in Bama, Borno State.

ACM Ganimu, a member of the NAF team actively engaged in counter-insurgency operation in the North-East, was passing through the side of the functioning rotor when the blade chopped off his head.

The aircraft was recovered and taken back to the airbase without any damage on tail rotor.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has said his country loses $1.1bn (£837m) every year to medical tourism, local media reports say.

In a speech to policy makers read out on his behalf, Mr Buhari said that the gaps in universal healthcare provision need to be addressed, the Vanguard newspaper reports.

At his own expense, Mr Buhari himself made several trips to the UK for medical reasons during his first term, resulting in a long absence from office.

Some young Nigerians have been protesting in the country's commercial hub, Lagos, asking the government to get rid of a controversial unit in the country’s police force.

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad, known as Sars, has been accused of killing innocent citizens.

Friday's protest was triggered by the recent killing of a young man, Kolade Johnson, by a police officer.

Sars has not commented on this killing or others that it has been accused of being involved in.

The protesters carried placards with inscriptions like "Sars stop killing innocent people" and "government should scrap Sars".

Adelaja Adeoye, who called the protest, said the government must investigate Sars and all the officials who are alleged to have been involved in the deaths.

There were similar protests in other cities.

The UN has urged rival forces fighting near the Libyan capital to halt fighting for two hours so casualties and civilians can be evacuated.

Hostilities should cease at 16:00 local time (14:00 GMT) to allow access for the emergency services, the UN said.

International powers have begun evacuating personnel from Libya amid a worsening security situation.

US Africa Command said it had relocated an unspecified contingent of US forces, while India said it had evacuated peacekeepers to Tunisia.

Rebel forces under Gen Khalifa Haftar have advanced from the east with the aim of taking the capital, Tripoli.

The UN-backed prime minister has accused him of attempting a coup and says rebels will be met with force.

Libya has been torn by violence and political instability since long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi was deposed and killed in 2011.

Gen Haftar began his offensive four days ago and fighting on the outskirts of the capital has led some international groups to react to the deteriorating security situation.

US Africa Command, responsible for US military operations and liaison in Africa, said that due to the "increased unrest" it had relocated a contingent of US forces temporarily, but gave no further details on numbers.

There were reports of a fast amphibious craft being used in the operation.

India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said its full contingent of 15 Central Reserve Police Force peacekeepers had been evacuated from Tripoli because the "situation in Libya has suddenly worsened".

The Italian multinational oil and gas company, Eni, decided to evacuate all its Italian personnel from the country.

The UN is also due to pull out non-essential staff.

Residents of Tripoli have reportedly begun stocking up on food and fuel. But reports says many of those near the fighting are remaining in their homes for now, for fear of looting should they leave.
