The prime minister of Mali and his entire government have resigned, following an upsurge of violence in the country.

On Wednesday, a motion of no confidence was submitted as MPs blamed Prime Minister Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga for failing to handle the unrest.

Last month, scores of herders were killed by a rival ethnic group.

President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita said in a statement that he accepted Mr Maiga and his ministers' resignation.

Mali has been struggling to control violence since al-Qaeda-linked Islamist extremists gripped the desert north of the country in 2012.

Despite an ongoing military drive and a 2015 peace agreement, jihadists still dominate areas huge areas of the country, having migrated from the north to the more heavily populated centre of the country.

The government has come under increasing pressure over its inability to restore stability, particularly after the massacre of 160 Fulani herders in the Mopti region.

Armed with guns and machetes, the attackers appeared to be members of the Dogon ethnic group, which has a long history of tension with the nomadic Fulani people.

The country was shocked by the killings and tens of thousands of people protested on the streets of the capital Bamako on April 5.

The president said in a televised address on Tuesday that he had "heard the anger".

I am not a fan of them corrupt politicians, but I don't like it when people don't reason either. Zambia and Nigeria are not on the same level and should not be compared. Nigeria is called the giant of Africa, not because we achieved something laudable, but because of our huge population.

Zambia has just 16 million citizens, that's not even up to Lagos' population.

However, it seems Drake knows that he's cursed.

Earlier this year, there were concerns he might influence the outcome of the Superbowl, so he took to his Instagram story to post a picture of himself with a caption that read;

"To everyone that believes in the Drake curse, good luck tomorrow" as he wore a jumper donning the logos of the four teams who were in the play-offs - Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, and Rams.

With so many infamous examples, it's unsurprising that Drake has got in on the joke.

Ahead of the game that decided who'd be playing in the most recent Super Bowl, Drake wore a jumper featuring the logos of all four teams that were in with a chance.

Two teams had to make it to the final, so surely that was the end of the curse?

And if you still need more evidence, last year Conor McGregor tapped out in the fourth round of his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In a way, it kicked off with Drake's beloved NBA team the Toronto Raptors. He became a global ambassador for the club in 2013, and can be seen cheering them on from the sidelines whenever they've got a big game.

Other footballers have fallen foul of the 'Drake Curse', Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho had a picture with Drake before their 5-0 defeat at Bayern Munich while Juventus lost the Champions League final after Drake was pictured wearing their away shirt.

But the curse doesn't just affect footballers.

Have you noticed that Drake pulls the same face in all his pictures? Anyway, Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fell victim to the 'Drake Curse' after posing for a photo with the musician on 2 April.

The Gunners lost to Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park the following weekend and Aubameyang was benched.

Man United
Everything was going so well for Manchester United with Ole Solskjaer at the wheel and then half the squad went to see Drake in concert...

After the gig at the Manchester Arena on March 11, Paul Pogba posed with Drake, while Man United team-mates Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard watched the concert from a box.

The team went on to lose to Wolves, twice and Barcelona.

Even Manchester City weren't spared the curse of Drake! Sergio Auguero took a selfie at the same concert, only to miss a penalty against Tottenham in the Champions League.

Roma's decision comes after, PSG defender, Layvin Kurzawa became the latest victim of 'Drake Curse' following Paris Saint-Germain's shock 5-1 thrashing against Lille.

The full back joined a long list of sports stars that have gone on to lose their next game after getting a selfie with Drake.

Italian football team, As Roma are the latest to take the mysterious curse seriously, banning all of their players from having their pictures taken with Drake until the end of the season.
