I'd go with Redmi 5 Plus. Mi max 2 is taller and wider than the Galaxy Note 4 that is already wide, it would be an adjustment. On the Redmi 5 plus, you have a bigger screen on a smaller form factor. Also the 18:9 bezel-less design makes it look like it's way more expensive than the Mi Max 2.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I like the mi max 2 but I'm scared of that size/form factor.
My galaxy note 4 is already straining the limit of my pockets so how do I hope to fit in the mi max 2... Especially in lagos here where boys won't hesitate to chukk hand in your pocket and collect anything that is showing face small.

Plus redmi 5 plus looks more premium like you said. The only thing I'm worried about in the redmi 5 plus is the battery life. If I can get 7 hrs screen on time and upwards then I'm okay

I dunno if anybody is using it here and can gimme an idea from their own personal experience. I don't trust YouTube reviewers and their nonsense exaggerations

The difference between redmi 5 plus and note 5 pro is basically camera and the snapdragon 636 instead of 635. Every other thing is the same, meanwhile the bump in cash would be significantly higher. That's the reason I stopped reasoning it

Im currently using a Samsung galaxy note 4 and have never used or even seen a Xiaomi phone before (just watched reviews) so you can understand my inquisitiveness.

I have nothing against you bro, but let us not be blindside, the facts speaks for itself, I use Infinix Note 3, i first got the Hot Note and after comparing with other phones i came to the conclusion that Infinix is better and more affordable, why would i use 79k to buy a sub standard phone like Gionee, that is a waste of money in this hard times.

I also used the hot note pro before selling it off and going back to the galaxy note 3 I used before it sef.
Also so it's not cool to use 79k on a "substandard" gionee but it is cool to spend almost 60k on a "superstanard, top of the specs" phone like... Uhmmm...let's see... INFINIX ba? Nice logic

This is coming from a Samsung fan and it's my first gionee phone. (I've used an infinix before bdw)

Don't put a product down just cos u don't want to break the bank for it. (I purposely won't say "can't afford to" cos we're not quarreling. I saw all the comments on the infinix note 3 but didn't say anything to put it down not cos I thought it was the best out there or even remotely better than the M5 plus but just cos it doesn't make sense raising such comparisons from thin air. U should do the same sometime.

The M5+ CPU grade and clock speed is on the average side but far better than that used in Infinix hot note. My assumption may be the CPU is not powerful enough to handle a FHD display with loads of pixels flying around
I should presume the drop in frames is due to the GPU but comparing to the Infinix hot note, its still far better and preferable

I advice you
1. Turn off any power saving feature that was/is on for better and maximum performance at the cost of battery life
2. Force GPU Rendering in application.. Can be found inside Settings >> Developer Option
3. Remove /Uninstall bloatwears from the device - This may require ROOT

I bought the phone last Wednesday and everything about the phone is cool. The weight isn't as bad so I expected...in fact it isn't even noticeably heavy. The camera could be a lot better tho, especially the back camera.
And don't tell me gaming experience was great cos that will just get me irritated. I'm playing nova 5 that I downloaded from play store yesterday and it's dropping frame rates and stuttering, which means I get killed more easily than I should have been. My brother's older infinix hot note pro even handled the game better which is what annoyed me.
Well it isn't a deal breaker as the rest of the phone is freaking awesome but that game ish and the camera makes me think that purchasing it for nearly 80k wasn't all that wise. Maybe I should have waited for it to reduce in price small.. Maybe 60-65k

Like I pointed out earlier in my post after reading online reviews just hours before buying the M5 plus, it stutters while playing nova 5. Is the processor or gpu that low? because my brother's infinix hot note pro doesn't drop frame rates while playing the same game. This isn't a deal breaker but honestly that's poor handing for a phone I bought at roughly 80k
And pls before anyone comes here to call me a hater, read my previous posts and see that I've been all praises about the M5 plus prior to this.

hello guys, I plan on buying the gionee m5 plus with some money I've saved up, at least before evening today, and I've spent the whole of yesterday researching on the phone. I'm coming from a long line of Samsung products (the last one being Galaxy Note 3) and I know my onions with Android phones, or at least to an extent.
I need candid and unbiased advice on this: Should I go for gionee m5 plus or Xiaomi Redmi note 3 pro? It's my first time of leaving the Samsung and LG line so I'm really apprehensive and trying to be careful cos money hard these days.
I'm skeptical about the processor of the gionee and from YouTube reviews, I noticed it stutters and drops frame rates during HD games like asphalt 8 and modern combat 5 etc whereas the Xiaomi does not, and also the camera on Xiaomi seems better, but on the upside, I love the larger battery, adore super amoled and having used 5.7 inch screen for a while, i would love to try out 6 inch, both of which favor the gionee. I'm confused now. It would have been an easy choice if either the processor or camera of the gionee was better as they are very important deals for me, but right now I'm confused and I'm going to market today to take one of these phones.
I need your unbiased opinions on which one is better plssssssssss . Also users of gionee m5 plus, tell me about ur camera and gaming capacity so far, if possible with pictures to help. I will be so grateful.
