Alleged killer husband, Lekan Shonde, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Lagos State High Court, for the 2015 killing his banker wife, Ronke.

Justice Josephine Oyefeso, today, found the dockworker guilty of the murder which occurred at about 8.30 p.m. on May 5, 2016, at their residence at No. 3, Tiemo Close, Egbeda.

Trouble allegedly started when Lekan accused the mother of their two children of sleeping with one Kayode, the general manager of a publishing company.

After killing his wife, Lekan Shonde was alleged to have locked the door on the corpse and their two children before the incident was discovered by a housekeeper and later reported to the police.

Delivering the judgement on Friday, Justice Josephine Oyefeso sentenced Lekan to death based on the conviction that the convict killed his wife, Ronke.

R. Kelly has denied allegations that he has sexually, emotionally, and physically abused women and girls for decades, saying he is currently fighting for his life.

R. Kelly who broke down in tears during his first interview since the Surviving R.Kelly docuseries aired, said the allegations are “stupid”, “not true”, and “not fair.”

In an explosive segment that will air on Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, the singer denies all of the accusations against him. In an emotional outburst, he tells Gayle King,

“I’m fighting for my fucking life!”

The R&B singer said he is being judged based on his past and that’s sad. He added that it would be stupid to think he would have girls chained up after all he has gone through.

The CBS This Morning interview comes less than two weeks after Kelly was released on $100,000 bail after being charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse against four victims, three of whom were between the ages of 13 and 17 when their alleged attacks took place. The alleged incidents date back as far as May 1998.

Prosecutors allege that Kelly met one of the underaged victims at a restaurant where she was celebrating her sixteenth birthday party, and that he met another victim when she got his autograph after attending his trial for child pornography in Chicago in 2008. He was acquitted in that case.

Manchester City have agreed to a £650m sponsorship deal with Puma, this is the second-highest in the Premier League.

The new deal by the reigning Premier League champion sits only behind Manchester United’s with Adidas when it comes to the most lucrative in the English top-flight.

City, who currently work in partnership with Nike, will see a new sponsorship contract kick in from the summer of 2019.

The figures represent a huge hike on City’s current kit contract, which stands at £20m a year with Nike.

Initial discussions with Puma centred on producing kits solely for City before other clubs under their umbrella were later brought to the table.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned a man identified as, Tayo Morawo, for N4.8m fraud in Benin.



Tayo Morawo was arraigned before Justice E. Nwite of the Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence.

Morawo and Kamilu - who is now at large - were said to have fraudulently obtained the sum of N4,811,000 (Four Million, Eight Hundred and Eleven Thousand Naira) from their victim. The charge reads:

“That you, Tayo Marawo and Mr. Kamilu (now at large) between 2016 and 2017 in Warri Delta State within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did conspire with yourselves to commit an offence to wit obtain the aggregate sum of N4,811,000.00 from Ebuwa Emmanuel Ikemefure by false pretences and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 8(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3)of the same Act.”

Tayo Morawo pleaded “not guilty” to the charge when it was read to him on Monday, February 25, 2019.

In view of his plea, the prosecuting counsel, asked the court to fix a date for trial and to remand the defendant in prison custody as he needed time to respond to the bail application filed by the defence counsel.

Justice E. Nwite, thereafter, adjourned the case to March 18, 2019 for “hearing” and ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison pending the determination of his bail.

FIFA has banned Tanzanian referee Oden Charles Mbaga for life after being found guilty of accepting illegal payments.

Oden Charles Mbaga becomes the second African referee in as many months to be slapped with a life ban by FIFA's Independent Ethics Committee for bribery.

Reuters reported Fifa as saying that Mbaga “accepted bribes to manipulate several national and international matches between 2009 and 2012.” Mbaga was also fined $200 000.

“The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has found Mr Oden Charles Mbaga, a referee affiliated to the Tanzania Football Federation, guilty of having accepted bribes in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics...and banned him for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.

"Additionally, a fine in the amount of CHF 200,000 has been imposed on Mr Mbaga,” Fifa said in a statement.

FIFA said investigations on Mbaga were opened in July 2018 but Mbaga reacted to his ban by telling Reuters that he was last interviewed by Fifa in 2010. He said;

“This is a shocking news to me (sic). I don’t know anything about me being banned to participate football activities for life (sic). I really don’t know this.

“I know Fifa was doing an investigation and the last time they came to interview me about the issue was in 2010. I told them openly that I don’t know anything about match-fixing and I have never heard anything from them since then.”

It is not yet known if Mbaga intends to appeal against the ban.

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, President Muhammadu Buhari won Atiku Abubakar at Uche Nwosu’s polling unit.

Recall that Nwosu had promised to deliver Buhari in his polling unit.

However, he won his polling unit in Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state for Buhari with 711 against PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar’s 50 votes.
