As the days go by, I tick off each day remaining to round off my programme, with enthusiasm.
Dont get me wrong housemanship has been really great!! The clinical skills acquired, experiences, fun times and of course the alerts (my favourite part) have been amazing. But everything that has a beginning surely must have an end.
When I came into the practice I was "as green as they come.

Celebrities / It Was A Close Shave...... But I Survived! by Thestylishdocto(f): 7:23pm On Nov 15, 2017
have this conspicuous scar on my knee that people won't stop "admiring" and asking me what happened to me. Initially it made me self conscious. You wouldn't catch me in an "above the knee "dress/ skirt until I learnt to embrace it and understand that:
"My scars tell a story, they are a reminder of the time when life tried to break me but failed. They are markings of where the structure of my character was welded"
So to bring you up to speed ,this is my story.
OK, fast forward to 2015 , in the small village of okada in Edo state, around June/July I was preparing for paediatrics exams. If you went through medical school in Nigeria you would understand that paediatrics was one of the tricky exams that held back a lot of people hence we always prepared extra extra extra for it.
After an all night I wanted to go study in the call room at the hospital because I didn't want to be tempted to sleep if I read in my room. That morning I can remember saying my morning prayers and having a few drops of tears run down my face but that's usually me when I pour my heart to God especially.........

Hello darlings! Am excited for the Jambites, fresh medical students and even those who have being medical students long enough.
It gives me great joy to write this post especially for you because Once upon a time, i was a jambite and then a medical student like you. Today i think i can sit on the other side as an elder ( chuckles) and share with you, tips that will help you make it through medical school and be exceptional.

I will like to start by saying that medicine is not just for the very intelligent students. Contrary to what a lot of people think, An average student who is determined to work hard can be a doctor.
I will try to keep this as simple as I can.
Medics are we ready?......

Celebrities / My Thoughts On Last Week's Tragedy by Thestylishdocto(f): 2:41pm On Nov 06, 2017
Hello dearies, happy new week to all of us. Am actually writting this post from the theatre lounge, as i have a few minutes before the next procedure will begin.
Last week was very emotional for me. Aside the fact that I am naturally so emotional,
we lost a patient ( a colleague from another hospital).
Loosing a patient is very heavy and trying, mainly because I have dealt with a loss before and it keeps taking me back to that moment and also because you have had time to bond with your patients that you feel the pain when they pass on.

I can't discuss the diagnosis or what happened here because its confidential but I won't fail to share what I took away from it with you.

Celebrities / Understanding Women Made RIDICULOUSLY EASY ! by Thestylishdocto(f): 11:18am On Oct 22, 2017
Hey darlings welcome back to our blog. If I received a coin for all the times I have heard that women are too difficult, complicated or impossible to please I will be negotiating to buy zenith bank by now.
Women are not as complicated as you think. This is how I see it, understanding a woman is like operating a cell phone. Pretty easy! But to someone who has no knowledge of the principles its almost rocket science.
Everyman has at least a wife/ girlfriend, mum, sister, auntie, cousin in his life that he loves and wants to be at peac e with. Which ever is more reason..... http://diaryofastylishdoctor..com.ng

Celebrities / #lifelately: Ep 9 7 Months Later,how I Survived! by Thestylishdocto(f): 6:55am On Jun 24, 2017
Good morning darlings!what have you been up to? Lately I have been reminiscing on my experience 7 months ago and what I went through Here and Here
It wasn't what I expected but I can say that I have adjusted pretty well.
So my place of work is located in a village which I think is quite thoughtful of the government so that they have access to quality healthcare and don't get left out of development.
Problem is there is hardly light, haven't been for the past 3 weeks and you have to walk some distance to fetch water. The closest market is about 45 minutes away even that does not have all that you need.
I can't believe I have been here for 7 whole months already.
I can remember cancelling out each day from my calendar, counting down to the end of this programme. Goodness! How time flies!
I actually came unprepared and I feel obligated to give you tips on how to survive if you get posted to such place for service, job or whatever.

1.Rechargeables are non negotiable. Light is a luxury so be prepared!

2.you need a laptop. While televisions are cool, you need light to be able to watch it but once you can charge your laptop you are good , at least until the battery goes off then you are back to square1

3. You need a bestie,or two. You see this is not the kind of place where you fly solo because you will be bored out of your mind. A few good friends to gist and hang out with will make it easier to endure.

4. You need to have lots of money in your pocket. Yo would expect that since you are going there to work you will survive with your salary, well we all thought so until we were hit by the harsh reality of the country we live in. First of all from my experience I spent a whooping sum trying to make it "livable" and then the salary didn't come as expected until much later when we were almost eating grass. So make sure you have enough stacked in case of eventualities.

5. Be sure to fleet the entire house with insecticide after cleaning, before you move in, very important!

6. Keep the porshness away it won't do you any good. You can't be in Rome and be acting like a Ghanian ko le werk!

7.Get acquainted
I had a cab man who gave me a sort of orientation about where not to go at certain times, where to hold my purse tight. What kind of people lived where and how to blend in and that was quite helpful. Study your environment.

With these few points of mine I hope I have been able to convince NYSC that I have payed my dues hence should be posted someone fancy for my service while also getting you prepared in case you find yourself someone similar.
I hope this helps you start your day on a beautiful note.

Celebrities / Viral Hepatitis And The Liver by Thestylishdocto(f): 9:15pm On Mar 17, 2017
Viral hepatitis is the commonest cause of liver cancer in our environment and as such more emphasis should be placed on the prevention, early detection and treatment of hepatitis.

What is hepatitis?

Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver it can be self limiting or progress to fibrosis (scaring), liver cirrhosis or liver cancer
Some of the symptoms of acute hepatitis include:
-Fever
-Fatigue
-Anorexia
-Abdominal discomfort
-Nausea and vomiting
-Yellow mess of the eyes
-Passage of pale stool
-Passage of dark coloured urine

What causes hepatitis?

Hepatitis viruses are the most common causes of hepatitis. Other causes include toxic agents like alcohol some medications and autoimmune diseases.

How is it transmitted?

Hepatitis A and E viruses are usually transmitted via ingestion of contaminated food or water, usually mild and most often self limiting. Vaccines are also available for its prevention.
Hepatitis B and C are transmitted via

-Exposure to infected blood and body fluids
-Sexual intercourse
- sharing sharp objects with an infected person,
-Blood transfusion
-Mother to child transmission during child birth.

Why get tested?

1. You can have the disease even though you feel fine and have no symptom
2.To avoid spreading to your family and friends
4. Early detection and treatment can suppress the virus in the case of hepatitis B or even wipe out the virus in the case if hepatitis C. Meaning that the individual can live a normal life thereafter.
5. To protect the liver as early testament can prevent liver cancer or liver failure
To protect your liver

For more information on this you can leave a comment below and send me a mail@officialcynthia123@gmail.com

OK so someone really really really close to me is asking for advice on a very pressing issue and I thought to do a post on it so that those with similar worries can benefit as well.

If you are full blooded Nigerian you will understand that meeting le boo 's parents is a very big step for any lady and making a great impression matters a lot especially when you are meeting them for the first time. let me share my tips here and if you have more tips please do share in the comment box so we can all be great together
1. Dress responsibly, most African parents are not about the western style of dressing, this means that those sexy crop top, torn super tight jeans and mini dresses should be packed away for when you are alone with le boo. That is not to say that........

Celebrities / My Housemanship Hustle by Thestylishdocto(f): 12:11pm On Jan 31, 2017
My housemanship hustle
Good afternoon to all the special people reading this piece, how are you doing?am in a good mood today because God has finally answered my prayers.you don't understand? Keep reading.

flash back to November 2015 I was a very hopeful medical student writing my final exams and dreaming of how free I was going to be after med school, finally catch up on all those trending seasonal movies and sleep like a baby and how I was finally going to earn a living with my 7 years medical training,I was excited,I put in my very best, sleepless nights reading marathon, name it.

Fast forward to march 2016 I got inducted,I finally had the license to practice medicine in Nigeria and form effizzy. I can remember looking at the license and saying to myself so I went through this 7 years of stress for just two sheets of paper? I guarded it jealously because that was my labour, my proove and my consolation for all the mosquito bites I endured doing all night reading in class.I was basking in the euphoria,of course reality had not hit yet.

Fast forward to may 2016 and I was yet to get a placement, even though i had sent out a dozens of applications. now many of my friends had started their housejob,I started to feel really bad,so many promises here and there but none was clicking. I decided it was time to "take it by force" first I went to the hospital management board abuja to make enquiries.

Sir when will the list be out?I don't know we will contact you if you are one of the successful candidates.when will that be sir? Well it can be just as soon as you leave my office or maybe next 2 years. I didn't know if he was trying to be funny or not.I just jejely carried my two sticks out of the office to avoid stories that touch. Then I was introduced to a certain politician who was to help me get recommendation letter that will facilitate my application. He asked me to come see him in his office,I went there and after waiting close to 2 hours for him to show up (as a boss that he is) He finally did and his receptionist ushered me into his office. He had a picture of his wife and kids framed on his table and a bible.I was relaxed,I knew I was in the right place or so I thought.

He was friendly, talked about his political ambition, why he lost the last election, how he is well connected and what not. After so many plenty talk dude came out plain that he wanted me to be his girlfriend before I knew it he placed his hand on my thigh I was confused i thought he was a christian,Nawa ooooo. He started talking about how he likes me and will do anything for me, I was angry in my mind I wondered why the hell will I put in the work, graduate and still have to deal with this.to cut the long story short I walked out on him and when he wouldn't stop blowing up my phone I blocked him.
I still kept on applying to different places and praying for favour to locate me.imagine taking an exam with more than 400 people and only 40 people will be selected. I was down for long I stopped picking some calls I didn't know which was more painful, the fact that I was yet to start work or friends and family who will not stop asking me why i haven't started working.

I wasnt having any more of this.I packed my bags and headed to the east,I applied to all the teaching hospitals there finally on the 5th of October the interview list was released And I was shortlisted but something strange happened.

Romance / How To Spot A Gigolo by Thestylishdocto(f): 5:18pm On Jan 10, 2017
I had a good laugh reading through the article posted by joro on how to spot a "runs girl"
Now that we know how to spot a runs girl wouldn't it be nice for us to know how to spot the male version of a runs girl?..... I believe such a person is called a gigolo.

1. He doesn't have a day job,yet lives a flamboyant lifestyle. He is at the club every Friday turning up at the VIP section with no care whatsoever.

2. He is not interested in filling out an application for a job except if it is for the post of "CBN governor"( why will he? When he is the CEO of Sidon dey look)

3. He takes pictures like a girl. I mean selfies every other minute. His instagram feed is filled with pictures of his bare chest and he is more concerned about how he looks than a lady going for MBGN contest

4.He brags a lot about who he knows and how much of a big boy he is( wash)

5. He is always in the midst of influential women and women who have their own money.

6.He always comes up with one excuse or another to borrow money from you.

7. He lives in a hotel or friend's house

8.His most expensive possession are his clothes, shoes or chain......landed property? Wetin concern agbero with overload.

9.Of course he is good looking with sugar coated tongue. With an excellent mastery of the art of manipulation. Can talk you into anything

10. 90% of his contacts are females

Teniolasmart:
blogger and lies.....................................

Ok next news pls
This actually happened to me, I have no business lying about it.
Celebrities / My Experience With "One Chance" In Enugu by Thestylishdocto(f): 3:17pm On Dec 31, 2016
So yesterday I wanted to go withdraw some money from the bank because I have not gotten my ATM and my bank is about 45minutes drive from where I stay (strange right) and didn't want to be cashless over the weekend.
I didn't want to take a bus in the park because I was in a hurry to get to the bank before closing hour,so I decided to pick one along the road since its faster ( little did I know)
I stood under the scorching sun for almost 30 minute with no taxi in sight. Just as I was beginning to think of a plan B a taxi pulled up beside me
"Gariki! Gariki!"
"Yes enter,hope you have change"

To be honest I was skeptical at first but a guy who was also waiting for a vehicle got in and when I saw a lady at the backside I relaxed and got in.
The driver asked me to sit infront with another guy even though there were just 2 people at the back. I didn't think about why he would say that I just got in and we drove off.
A short while after the taxi drove off I started feeling uncomfortable,my spirit was not at rest I did the sign of the cross and started praying in my mind hoping I was not in the midst of kidnappers or ritualists.
The next thing the driver started complaining about the front being too tight I adjusted and when he asked the guy to do the same he refused

"I have paid you so you can't ask me to shift"

They started arguing then the driver slowed down in an attempt to stop the vehicle insisting that one person should go to the back
I waded in and ask him to be patient till we get to the junction.
I was more scared than angry because we were at a very lonely and dangerous place with just bushes around..... http://diaryofastylishdoctor..com.ng
