Both Obi and Atiku are even lucky that the Supreme court didn't fine them again for wasting court's time
Let the Obidients who are not satisfied with the supreme court's judgement go and appeal at the Court of Arise TV where Justice Oseni Rufai will hear their appeal....😝
For now Asiwaju Tinubu is our president. May God bless Nigeria 🙏 Can you afford a plane ticket to Dubai or even Cameroon? |

richmond500: The essence of these policies is to kill importation business and make Nigeria a production country. Your business is not the only business that is dying, many business that depends on dollar has closed down and more will close too.
Time is coming when Naira will hit 5000 to a dollar. When this happens, foreign products will be difficult to purchase and we will have no choice but to buy made in Nigeria goods cos even a pair of foreign pants will be so expensive that only politicians can afford it while the rest of us will wear plantain leaves.
It's so annoying that the average secondary school student knows the dollar to naira exchange rate, that shows how we depend so much on the dollar and killing our own naira. Until we patronize our own companies, we can't grow the economy, this painful stage is called the transition stage from foreign to local, the govt is not the problem but the time it takes Nigerians to accept the Nigerian goods will determine how long the pain will last.
In the next five years, we will fully accept our own economy and in the next ten years, we will have an economy that will beat France and Germany cos we have the market already. Hope the device you used to type this rubbish was made in Nigeria. |

FreeStuffsNG: Remarks from the Minister of Finance and the CBN Governor at the National Economic Summit Group. 1. The FX market is illiquid because there is not enough supply of foreign exchange in the system due to various reasons.
2. The bleeding with respect to Nigerian resources has stopped.
3. The time to be concerned has gone as the country is now on the path of rebuilding.
4. There is enormous interest from foreign portfolio investors and foreign direct investors.
5. The President has signed an executive order that will effectively legally allow all the cash in the domestic economy to come into the system.
6. There is another executive order that will allow domestic issuance of foreign currency instruments.
7. Revamping of the FX market to ensure simplification and digitization of the FX market through a robust regulatory framework.
8. There is an expectation of a $10 billion inflow to clear the backlog of FX obligations in the coming weeks.
9. There will be supply of FX from NNPC, Sovereign wealth fund, foreign portfolio investors. Check my signature for free stuffs! All this talk na rubbish, your jagabandit knows nothing about the economy, soon they will start raiding the homes and bank accounts of ordinary Nigerians looking for what to sieze. |

DeLaRue: Well, I am making my own contribution and not hoping the country fails like some people are hoping.
Others like Mr Dangote and the BUA man are working non stop to help the country, and of course themselves.
80% of items 1 & 2 on the Statisense data you provided will no longer be imported within the next 2 years.
Many other items on that list can and will be produced in Nigeria.
We must reduce non-essential imports as much as possible, and that's why I think the government is not bothered by black market dollar rate especially now that the 42 previously banned products have been allowed to buy dollars from the official market. Infact, the CBN Governor must be looking at the import statistics and be smiling to himself. The black market is doing the job of killing non essential imports without the CBN lifting a finger.
Goods that are imported at black market dollar rate are no longer affordable to many, so demand for them is reducing drastically, thereby reducing imports drastically. The black market is doing the job of the CBN in curtailing non essential imports.
In the medium term, that will rebalance the economy towards more local production, greater real employment, increase in GDP, and general improvement in overall prosperity.
It is unfortunate that in the short term, many will be affected negatively. However, in 3 or 4 years, the rebanlancing of the economy will be firmly on track.
Short term pain for long term gain, or short term gain for medium term bankruptcy. The choice is Nigeria 's to make. Wow this guy is actually very dumb did you not read that most of Nigeria's imports are basic things we need for survival? How many people did you think could afford imported cream when surviving on 1 dollar a day? . No wonder all the graduates in Nigeria want to japa. It's not wishing and hoping that caused the problems you are facing today it is Tinubu's stupidity. He wants to make Nigerians poorer with no access to fuel and food to stop "non essential imports" that have no major effect on the economy. He also wants the same Nigerians without access to electricity, medicine, and machines that are imported to start producing, how? This is what politics of bitterness, envy and hate does to you people. |

Politics › Re: Lekki Port Struggles To Gain Traction Amidst Economic Headwinds by Theunbothered: 6:38am On Oct 21, 2023 |
DeLaRue: Lack of dollars affects imports, it doesn't affect exports.
Nigeria should focus on exporting more goods. That's the way for the country to earn more dollars to pay for essential imports.
The fact that importation is slowing down is good for the economy in the long term, but only if Nigerians will focus on producing more of what we eat and use locally.
How is it bad if imports of indian/peru/Brazilian hair, lotions, creams, cornflakes, furniture, multi vitamins, shoes, and thousands of other non-essential goods that we can produce locally reduce drastically?
Are China and India developing their economies by importing everything under the sun from other countries and not producing their own locally?
So Lekki ports is not busy because of lack of imports. Are we supposed to be celebrating importation that enriches other countries Why aren't we asking why we have nothing to export through the ports?
Keep importing everything na. We shall see what will happen to the Naira. Sebi, the government will put a printer in Aso Rock and start printing dollars abi?
People are just not serious in this country. Go and open your factory to export. When you do you will understand that it's rubbish you just typed.
