Fake news, there is abundant fuel only Peter Obi and his family don't have fuel. We are teaching him a serious lesson. Soon the fool will learn to stop wasting his time trying to save Nigerians from themselves. grin

Maybe not, but currently there's a change. Moreover there are some states and cities that can guarantee that. He should relocate to one.
What is the change?
If half the country doesn't have access to power for a calendar year while fuel is on the increase how is the statement below true?

But nowadays electricity supply has really been good in most city in nigeria.

Because they were all stupid policies.

Buhari and Emefiele rushed to put something out so they could siphon money from the hands of Nigerians after squandering our foreign reserves.

I just pity what we will see from this maladministration in 8 years time.

Lol.

Now that you're done calling me names, what difference have you made? Can you sincerely tell yourself that you've been useful to any of the audience in this thread? Has your electricity situation changed?

Wisdom is indeed profitable to direct.
What difference did your useless initial comment make?

The same nonsensical you vomited is the mindest politicians love. They love when Nigerians are patient and excuse their laziness. The same "be patient" nonsense is what we heard at the polling units when APC rigged their way to power.

The idiots that helped the criminals steal the ballot boxes told us there would be "another chance" in 4 years.

You keep wasting whatever short time you have on this earth in the hopes of "another chance".

You and them, just a bunch of fools.

Funny how you're yammering from both sides of the mouth on this issue..😂.

On one hand you're lambasting me for the perceived brief I'm holding for politicians and accusing me of being indifferent towards governmental failures. And on this hand you're systematically excusing Nigerians' inability to have leadership accountability on the high-handedness of politicians and the security agencies.

Are you sure you're alright? Bros, you don eat?
I'm lambasting you for dropping stupid excuses for failure in the thread while trying to sound a intellectual.
If you had a working brain in that empty head you would also read the last line where I wrote Nigerians ruined their chances by being non challant about nonsense governance, just like you are doing now.

You can blame the politicians for being inadequate and useless when Nigerians spend all their time in churches and mosques asking God to provide.

Nigerians have failed to hold their politicians accountable, so they rule with impunity. Elections are a small part of the democratic process; holding politicians to account is the key part.
How will you hold someone with a gun accountable?

Even if it's striking they will settle some few people and nothing will change in the long term.

Elections were the last chance Nigerians had to change their story and they ruined everything.

Insulting me doesn't exactly make your arguments more convincing or intimidating.

I am not a Nigerian who lives in squalor, neither am I ignorant. Leadership failure is a concern we collectively share as a people but ignoring the baby steps of progress and reeling out comparisons about how Hiroshima had electricity in the midst of a nuclear explosion, isn't going to increase our current electricity capacity by a single kilowatt.

You can stay on nairaland and bark at your interlocutors all you want, it is not going to stir anyone to do things differently unless we as citizens find the will to demand leadership accountability through the proper means.
I'm not even trying to convince you, quite frankly you haven't said anything sensible since the first comment on this thread.

To me you are a lost cause, my only reason for engagement is so others who still holding similairy silly ideas that government so lazy and nonchalant actually cares might have a rethink.

The last chance we had to get leadership accountability had Nigerians attacking their fellow citizens at their polling units over five thousand naira and a bag of rice.

Really the more I engage with your kind online the less I care for the suffering of Nigerians, it's like you enjoy watching your house burn.

Maybe the world is right to ignore our stagnant country and take only the skilled workers from here.

It is because I am not mad that I have opted to be objective even in criticism.
This isn't being objective, this is willful ignorance. Nigerians are too comfortable living in squalor and I'm honestly starting to think you all deserve to suffer.

Buhari was a colossal mess but at least we both agree he materialised the deal for Siemens to bring and install enegy transformers to improve our electricity generation capacity, a project that is currently underway. So there's no viability to you labelling that project as "useless" in the interim.
After 8 years it is still underway.

Ukraine that is at war still has electricity.

Iraq that was bombed back to the days of Babylon has 100% electricity access and it's the same oil they are using. Meanwhile you are here hyping the purchase of transformers, you don't even have shame. undecided

I have no love lost for this government or the previous, but as regards electricity, if we cannot be honest enough to admit that it is better today than it was with OBJ, Yaradua and GEJ put together, then we're no different from the politicians.
Government should be a continuum and our improved electricity today, even if not at a 60 percent satisfaction rate, is a cumulative output of efforts from previous governments sustained to this day.
The only continuum here is failure.

I don't like Tinubu but not everything has to be a basis for toxic politics.

Nigeria's electricity woes predate even Goodluck Jonathan's government and any objective mind can even posit that the situation has seen marked improvements to a reasonable extent.

To be quite candid, most of the states and areas without decent electricity are as a result of transmission inhibitions at the States level, but we're all clearly not ready for this conversation yet.
I'm sorry but this sort of hollow response will no longer be tolerated from me, I'm done playing nice.

The previous government was given 8 bloody years to make things better or at least keep things the same but they keep getting worse with no end in sight.

After running for president since 2003, Buhari gained office and did NOTHING for 8 years. His greatest achievement with power is buying some useless transformers from Siemens that we can't even use.

His main priority during that 8 years looking out for the welfare of foreigners and their cows while his underlings plundered the excess crude account.

If I vote a politician in the hopes that they do better I will not clap for them and lambast my fellow citizens when they fail because I AM NOT MAD

Nobody is talking about the big Elephant in the room, which is lack of electricity. This week I've spent 58,000 naira on fuel for my generator for work, that is full tank for alot of cars every week, and the car owners are complaining, what about us that need Electricity to work.

I barely get 6 hours of electricity, I tried buying solar, but the conditions are too much, turn off this, turn this on, don't use this bulb. Mehn, plus I can't turn on AC while working.

Since my work is from home I decided to buy a laptop worth 1million here on Nairaland (thanks to Nairaland) just to ease my work, atleat I get 4 hours of break in severe heated room with my laptop.

How else can someone survive in this country with this low electricity, is there any state that is better? Or is it a must I have to travel to another African country just to get simple electricity to work. My generator just went off and my fuel gone, that why I came here to rant. I'm going to buy feul at 615 naira per litre cry
It's mynd44 you should ask this sort of question.

Anyways, allowing marketers access to Dollar at the official exchange rate will strike off NNPCL monopoly allowing for healthy competition and eventually forcing down price in the long run as we have in the telecom industry. We hope this works.
He's not your government. grin

The ones that forced their way into power are the cause of this mess. If you also think the fuel price will come down you're due for heavy disappointment. This will just stop fuel from rising to 3000 naira per litre.

Nigeria is not importing food if you want to argue name the food we import?, we only import grain
And grain is what? It's clothes abi? undecided

and the things we import both food and fuel is not affected by floating before tinubu bdc is 700+. immediately tinubu said subsidy is over show me any company that import fuel more than 700+ per dollar? what evidence do you have that increment in price of things is caused by floating
Another sign that you don't read. Nigeria has no local refining capacity that's why we import fuel, in order to import we trade with dollars which became worth more than naira with the float policy, this isn't hard to understand.

if the 3 front presidential runner say they will remove subsidy so no time that it is removed that is not good
Obi and Atiku proposed gradual removal of subsidy and putting the money back into power and education so the economic shock is minimal. Politicians have media teams because their words have power, unguarded utterances can cause chaos in an instant.

naira floating is not the reason for bad economy, the only people that affected is people importing things and as a business all you do is just increase price, those imported things is not meant for poor people its for the rich or you mention imported things you own
Do you not understand that the most imported items are FUEL AND FOOD? People are increasing prices because the cost of production had increased, didn't they teach you this in school? huh

Is it only the rich that eat and use fuel? huh

E gba mi o huh

tell me wrong policies tinubu made
Announced fuel subsidy removal at his inauguration like a mumu.

Waited 100 days to form an economic team while giving sensitive appointments to his friends.

Announced floating of the naira at the same time meaning every imported item would be three times as expensive. Refined fuel is the most imported product to Nigeria.
