Religion / Re: Why Is God’s Name Missing From Many Bibles by THEVOICE3: 3:06am On Aug 19, 2014
The Bible in many places presents an explicit and clear Divine Mandate for stressing and publishing proper knowledge of His name. Here are two such instances:
Jeremiah 33:2 "YHVH Who made the earth, Who formed it and set it firm - YHVH is His Name - says this: 'Call to Me and I will answer you ...'"
Isaiah 12:4 "Give thanks to YHVH - call His Name aloud. Proclaim His deeds to the nations, declare His Name sublime. Sing of YHVH, for He has done marvelous things - let it be known to the whole world!".

So, don't shy away from Knowledge which will set you free. The Truth shall certainly set you free. Simply cling to the admonition given in:

Phil 4:8 (KJV) "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things"

nathanyl77: Original name of the father YAHWEH and son's name of YAHSHUA the MESSIAH.

the name is written as יהוה (YHWH), as biblical Hebrew was written with consonants only. The original pronunciation of YHWH was lost many centuries ago, but the available evidence indicates that it was in all likelihood Yahweh, meaning approximately "he causes to be" or "he creates"

Religion / Re: Why Should Christians Go To Church? How Important Is It? by THEVOICE3: 6:33pm On Aug 17, 2014
Alexk2: i realy don't get ur point bt i'll like to start clearly that Christianity is NOT a religion as widely believed proclaimed...Christianity is the way of life of those who believe in Jesus Christ truely; those who live there lives after Him(Christ)....
it is only in Christ that the knowledge of right and wrong can be sincerly establised.
way of life - the typical pattern of behavior of a person or group.
religion -the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods,a particular system of faith and worship,a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion

what determins the pertan of the way of life of chrristians, those it have a dos and dont (commandment) those it belief in the super human controlling power those it entails faith, worship and devotion, how then can you seperate it?
Religion / Re: Why Should Christians Go To Church? How Important Is It? by THEVOICE3: 8:52am On Aug 17, 2014
Alexk2: Here are some irreplaceable pieces of the Christian that cannot happen when you live in isolation from the church:
1.
USE OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS - I Corinthians 12 makes it clear that God has given spiritual gifts to every Christian. And verse 7 states unmistakably that these abilities are not provided to make you feel good; they are abilities to minister that should be used for the common good! I Peter 4:10 commands us to use spiritual gifts to help each other.
The same passage makes it clear that we meet with other Christians so they can use their gifts to strengthen us. God's gift of a preacher or teacher is wasted if no one comes to hear them speak.
2.
MUTUAL MINISTRY - The church is pictured as a body in I Corinthians 12, and Paul explains that each part of the body exists to meet the needs of other body parts. In the same way, God intends each of us to meet the needs of other believers, using our strengths to help in their areas of weakness. I Corinthians 12:21 expresses it this way: "The eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you." Neither can a Christian claim to be self-sufficient today.
The New Testament is full of “one another” commands. We are to comfort one another (I Thessalonians 4:18), build up one another (I Thessalonians 5:11), confess our sins to one another (James 5:16), pray for one another (James 5:16), and many more. How can we obey these directives if we stay away from the gathering of believers?
3.
ACCOUNTABILITY - God designed the church as a place where spiritual leaders could watch out for our welfare, as a shepherd guards the sheep (I Peter 5:1-4; Hebrews 13:17). A Christian who answers only to himself can easily rationalize sinful attitudes or actions; regular contact with other Christians can keep us sharp.
A single verse should actually be sufficient answer for this question: Hebrews 10:25 warns its readers against “forsaking the assembly of yourselves together, as the manner of some is.”
From religion point of view you must do all things according to your religion(doctrine)like someone said how do you know what is good or bad because logically stealing is good because you get to enjoy the proceeds we don't have any ideological fact which is not based on religion to condem stealing but based on religion, your religion outline some reasons witch later connect to your conscience why some things are good and some are bad.
religion is a driving force that determine all you must or must not do
Religion / Why Is God’s Name Missing From Many Bibles by THEVOICE3: 2:24am On Aug 17, 2014
Why were the Sacred Names removed from the Scriptures? - 7000 times in the Old Testament and 1000 times in the New Testament?

how important is the name "Proverbs 18:10" the name of GOD were mainly represented as LORD,Yahweh,Jehovah,ADONAI,God Almighty in the bible.

God himself has the right to change or alter the Bible. God himself gave mankind a warning - in his own Word - The Bible;to NOT add to - NOR take away from his Words. (Revelation 22:18,19)

The tetragrammaton (Greek for "word of four letters"wink is the one name that observant Jews will write down but will not pronounce, considering the word to be too holy for utterance.

According to the Bible, the name of God was used during the lifetime of Adam and Eve, but the Hebrew Bible implies that by the time Moses was born none of mankind still knew the name.

In the Book of Exodus, God commands Moses to tell the people that 'I AM' sent him, and this is revered as one of the most important names of God according to Mosaic tradition Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.'" God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation".
— Exodus 3:13-15.

I read this interesting article. If you feel some of your prayers aren't being answered, maybe it's because you aren't asking anyone. If you shouted in the air CAN I HAVE A BLESSING? No one would no who you were talking about. Give a name. Well, that's my take on it..

In the Bible, God says: “I am Jehovah. That is my name.” (Isaiah 42:cool Although he also has many titles, such as “God Almighty,” “Sovereign Lord,” and “Creator,” he honors his worshipers by inviting them to address him by his personal name.—Genesis 17:1; Acts 4:24; 1 Peter 4:19.
Many translations of the Bible contain God’s personal name at Exodus 6:3. That passage says: “I used to appear to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God Almighty, but as respects my name Jehovah I did not make myself known to them.”(KJV).

my take, the real pronunciation of GOD NAME is not non but the symbol is there

Nairaland / General / What Verse Is in the Center of the Bible? by THEVOICE3: 11:52pm On Nov 02, 2012
What Verse Is in the Center of the Bible?

When you open your Bible right to the middle, what verse do you find? Many Christians believe the center of the Bible is Psalm 118, which is preceded by 594 chapters and followed by 594 chapters. Psalm 118 is also preceded by the shortest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 117, and followed by the longest chapter, Psalm 119. If you add 594 and 594 together, you get 1188, and the center verse of Psalm 118 is Psalm 118:8. However, there is some controversy over whether this is true, and some Christians suggest that other verses are the central verses (all references English Standard Version).
The contents

Psalm 118:8 is an entreaty from the psalmist for those who hear his words to turn to God rather than earthly powers: "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man." Psalm 118 as a whole praises God for his might, care for his people and for saving his people from the depths of their distress. Psalm 118 is often quoted along with the verse that follows it: "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes." Taken together, these verses are a good example of parallelism in Hebrew poetry, where a verse is followed by one that echoes the first verse's sentiment with slightly different wording.
The math

However, the math naming this verse the center of the Bible is incorrect, even though the belief persists that Psalm 118:8 is the central verse of the Bible. Although there are 1189 chapters in the Bible, Psalm 118 is not the 595th chapter, but is instead the 596th chapter, placing it one off the center. The idea that Psalm 118 is the Bible's middle chapter is easily debunked with simple addition. Just count up to the 595th chapter, and you discover that chapter 118 is not in the middle at all.
The real center

So what verse is at the center of the Bible? That depends on how you count. If you take "middle verse" to mean "middle verse of the middle chapter," then the true middle verse is really the two verses of Psalm 117: "Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!" Alternatively, if you count every single verse in the Bible and divide that number by two, you get Psalm 103:1-2. This is because there are 31,102 verses in the Bible, so verses 15551 and 15552 would form the middle portion.
The lesson

There is no verse at the center of the Bible. There are an even number of verses in the text, so the closest you get to a center verse is Psalm 103:1-2: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits." Do not get caught up in numerical speculation, as it is easy to see numbers fitting together if you really want them to, regardless of authorial intent. Relying on the Bible is more complex than simply looking for numbers to conveniently add up.
In the original text of the Bible, there were no chapter and verse distinctions at all. A French printer named Robert Estienne finalized the chapter and verse divisions in 1551.
