I don't know what's wrong with this SE people. They keep shouting as if it's their land. I have someone living there as well.. And have not heard anything about the military killing innocent people. There has been corpse being hurled out of the creeks which I believe are the militants.. They are the one afraid of military presence in the east, here we are not scared of their presence if it is called for.
None of them lives near these places and yet they are here spewing thrash. I'm just sick of them putting mouth in a matter that doesn't concern them. When their brothers were killing and kidnapping you will never see them go against it by opening threads here. But once they see their brothers being slaughtered like goat, they will be shouting here and there about. I just wish they grant them their Biafra and let's see how they will kill themselves with hates.

From experience, I know a majority of south westerners and in fact, Nigerians generally are lovely people. Only a dumb minority come to the internet to misrepresent their people. Just yesterday, a friend posted a lovely message to her friends from Adamawa state. In her own words, they are the most hospitable people she has ever met. She met them during NYSC. A brother of. mine served in Anambra state. Told me of how the indigenes would go out of their way to make strangers comfortable. My own story is set in Benue state. They made NYSC the most beautiful one year of my life till date. I don't know where your story is set but I'm sure its similar.

So you see, the misguided elements you see up here don't represent the majority. No doubt, there are sickos but they are in every tribe. Spread the love bro. our future generations would be grateful you did.

I have many friends and relatives in that area and and I visited the area about 3 weeks ago.
Now, up till now none has called me to corroborate any news of military killing innocent inhabitants of that area whether intentionally or unintentionally.
Right now, most people there are strictly indoor and movement as been restricted.

Which makes me to ponder on the bases of ur post. I mean, we that have everything to lose are not bothered, in fact, we encouraged it.
So why should you? Believe me, if there's any extrajudicial killing people there will know.

If this was meant to spite the West, sorry, you've failed-and woefully too.
We're just too civilized for that.

For the records, I'm only a south westerner by residence. But being on ground here give me an advantage (probably unfair) of seeing things from varying perspectives.

The average south westerner, though tribalistic, is reasonable enough to see that what must be done must be done. These so called militants have terrorised so badly that they are actually happy with the current military operations.

As regards collateral damage, its inevitable. We hope the military will keep it minimal and so far, there has been no report suggesting otherwise.

Now from me to you, if we must succeed, we must learn to shed our tribal and religious prejudice. You might want to argue that a lot of people show the same bias towards your people but two wrongs never made a right. I deduce from your post that you're an intellectual and if Nigeria will benefit you and I and our future generations, the onus is on us to try to lead our blind.
