This is becoming a war or words which will not change the reality on ground. Texazzpete, webdezzi and naijaking will not change their stance neither will Ibime and SapeleGuy. If you guyz think you are smart and want to be heard, proceed to NTA, channels, AIT or tv continental. They love people that argue endlessly. The truth remains that the onslaught will only reduce the activities of the militants. The people in these communities will continue suffering. The rigging party will continue rigging their way to the govt houses. The people will continue suffering, the cry for marginalisation will become louder, the politicians and militants will steal more crude, the military and militants will continue in their propaganda and the rest of the world will continue laughing at us. Nigeria is getting rebranded. By 2020 we will laugh last. |
webdezzi:What was my conclusion? Point out what is wrong with it. |
texazzpete:Igbinedion served TWO full terms. Now he is enjoying his loot. Do u call that "Holding him responsible"? Texazzpete, u dey very funny! |
texazzpete:You made ur point, Yes. But the generalisation was uncalled for. You said foolishness and greed is the ND problem as if Greed is not every human being's problem. Foolishness on whose part? How many Nigerians have been able to hold their governors responsible. Stop castigating all Niger Deltans. Face the facts. Period!!!!!! |
Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Adeboye have their headquarters in Ogun State not Lagos. Lets stop mentioning names. Lets stop condemning religous leaders. We can't tell who the true messengers of God are, so we have to be careful lest we annoy God. The issue here is whether our imams and pastor should pay taxes or not. My opinion is a big YES. The use roads built with taxpayers' money. They have police escorts. They use our airports. They earn money, so they ought to pay. Afterall tithe is 10% of income. And they have several sources of income. |
Give unto Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar. @Oludashmi No vex. I'm enjoying the debate. |
If texazzpete was the Army chief, he'd have bombed out the entire Niger Delta. He knows what the issues are, but his hatred for people prevents him from thinking constructively. Alams stole billions, Saminu Turaki stole billions, Joshua Dariye stole billions, Abacha stole trillions. Corruption is not a Niger Delta thing, it is a Nigerian thing. I'm not in support of militancy neither am I in support of military brutality. Lets think like human beings PLEASE. |
Yeah! A woman MUST know how to cook. |
Your promise na ur word, no be God own. Man proposes, God disposes. Na only God word fit stand. |
Land that could have been used to build schools and industries have now been monopolised by wealthy pastors. Na wa oh. If government imposes tax on pastors and imams, the number of offerings will definitely increase. The masses will pay definitely more. Government should just revisit the buildings and infrastructures act. |
There are many Kolawoles out there, male and female. You too can become a Kolawole tomoro. Nigerians so much believe in their religous leaders. That I think is not too good. Kola believed his Pastor and left her. If u were in his shoes you may also have believed your pastor or Imam. @poster, See this as the will of God. U neva know what would have happened if you got married to him. Move on girl! There is a man out there who God has destined to be eternally yours. All the best. |
JRC spokesperson, Cynthia Whyte, said in the next few days, the militants would know how prepared and combat ready the Nigerian armed forces are because "we will carry out revenge attacks. "Let us also warn that any bandit soldier of the Nigerian state who breaches the rules of engagement in this campaign will be summarily executed. Any attack on unarmed and innocent village-folks will be revenged. Any attack on community people will result in an equal attack on families of soldiers in any barracks we choose to attack. It will be an eye for an eye henceforth." He alleged that the attacks on Gbaramatu Kingdom represent the height of an attempt by a cabal to fully sink their teeth in oil production operations in the Niger Delta. "This cabal, comprising largely of serving and retired army generals would no longer be given free passage through the creeks of the Niger Delta anymore." From today's Guardian. Propaganda. Propaganda. Make una help us oh! We no want any Somalia or Rwanda here oh! Yar Adua our listening President, do something! |
Abeg Seun do somtin to stop this verbal and vulgar war. I hate generalisation. Some ladies are promiscuos, so are some guys. Some ladies take dating as a time to have sex. Guys too. Its all a matter of perception. No matter how many pple u slept with in the past, u can have a happy marriage if u truly love your partner and if you leave your past life. Fruitfulness or happiness in a marriage does not depend on how long u date. I'm for dating tho, But Sex during dating or courtship is against the tenets of our major religions. So, date but dont do. Shikena! |
About seven months ago, a cousin to one of my friends was kidnapped. The husband came out, shouted and accused certain people of masterminding the kidnap. He was later introduced to a sitting governor who promised to help. From what I heard, the Governor called some people (supposed militants) and they all started the search. At the end, the lady was rescued by the military from a location close to the east (mind you, not in the creeks). My points are 1. Militancy and genuine agitation is different from Criminality 2. Criminals/militants have camps in our towns; they are not confined to the creeks. 3. The Nigerian army is trained to dislodge criminals with minimal civilian casualty 4. Our leaders know who this militants are. They simply don't want to tackle it cos of certain interests 5. Kidnapping has become big business in Nigeria. Its no longer a Niger Delta thing. The way the military is going about the current campaign tells me they are on a vendetta mission. They are obviously avenging the death of their colleagues. They are not there becos the militants are stealing Nigeria's crude. My charge to the army is: dislodge the militants in a professional manner; don't burn down the houses of innocent people. It is a shame for a professionally trained army to be engaged in propaganda (war of words) with militants. The Yoruba NYSC corps member who spoke to the press confirmed the destruction of several houses. He confirmed the use of Air strikes. He is not a militant neither is he a military man, so we can assumed his comments are unbiased. |

I no know oh!!! I think it is. The question is "How long should you date"? |
Distinguished Graduates of the Federal Republic, Weep no more. Your liberation is near. You don't need to work in Exxon Mobil or Chevron to become a successful individual. Look inwards. There is always a need to be fulfilled. Most of us are really talented. The posts on this board tells me we have a lot of good writers. Tap into that. DBanj is a success today. Mo Abudu is a success today. Chimamanda is a great success today. What about Mikel Obi. Look for that thing God has created you (and only you) to do. That is what will bring you success. Remain positive and always stand by what is right. May God Bless Us All. |
The issue now is: How do we compel the military authority to stop the killing of innocent people. They said the attacks is meant to stop the activities of militants who terrorise the people. What they are doing now is to burn down the villages so that people will no longer be there to experience militant terrorism. "Burn down the house to get rid of the rat" ![]() |
texazzpete:We have a Nigerian navy whose duty is to protect attacks through the coast. NPA is there also. Why can't these agencies checkmate the importation of weapons? Since you admit knowing the identities of the militants, why not name them? The simple answer is that nobody will listen because they are powerful individuals. And again, we make our posts not to make enemies but to air our view. Your response portrays a person who hates the people of the Niger delta. I aint a Niger Deltan but I've lived with several of them so I don't support what the military is doing. Shikena |
As educated Nigerians, we are expected to get the facts before making comments. But our situation and information management system makes it difficult to get reliable info let alone facts. JTF says they are bombing militants and not razing town villages, How do we verify the authenticity of these statements? MEND says the military is destroying the homes of innocent civilians. MEND claims they have since relocated to other camps. How do we verify this. Lets be honest with ourselves: The military high command will only protect its interest. The interest here is the destruction of people who pose a threat to the pilfering of oil by ex-generals. The Niger delta crisis is more than we can see. Top FG officials are stockholders(not stakeholders) in the crisis business. If you doubt this, ask yourself some simple questions 1. How do the militants get the sophisticated weapons they use? 2. Who negotiates for hostage release? 3. Why is NNPC under the direct supervision of the presidency? I strongly believe President Yar'Adua, Vice-President Jonathan, former president Obasanjo, all know the identities of the so-called militant leaders. They are simply business partners. |
We can only pretend the Niger Delta imbroglio doesnt affect us. The global economic downturn folled by the fall in oil prices is already affecting Nigeria- the Northern states inclusive. How much more the crippling of the oil and gas industry. The United states attacked Iraq thinking that'll be the end of Iraqi oppression. LIE!!! What they've succeeded in doing is make affected civilians have eternal hatred for the US and the entire westen world. Yar' Adua thinks his attack on the people of the Niger Delta is a solution to our problems. Another big LIE!!! The innocent ones will forever hate the Nigerian government and the igerian people. If you come to my village, burn down my ancestral home in the name of chasing militants, I will hate the militants who caused my woes but I will hate you more. The attack and subsequent burn down of that boundary village between Abia and Akwa Ibom cannot be blamed on kidnapping. The razing to the ground of Zaki Biam wasn't as a result of militancy. Listen Nigerians, the military will come after you no matter where you reside. They are just out to show their might. |
The Nigerian Military should have gone to war against Cameroun if they think they are strong |
