CelebritiesRe: Michael Jackson Died: Cardiac Arrest by ThinkRait: 8:49am On Jun 26, 2009
He was human. "I'll fight to d end cos I'm only human, "
He had his complexes but he passed several messages across. "Black or White, "
He contributed to world happiness. "Heal the world, "
His death made several people "Speechless"

Yeah, he is gone. But his songs will live forever.
Adieu MJ

Ezinne seems to be a 'Say it as it is' kind of person. I really admire that.
But every guy may not be comfortable wit that.

@Ezinne

Take life one step at a time. Don't go looking for love. Give out love and true love will find you.
Goodluck.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Insists On State Police • Wants Special Status For Lagos by ThinkRait: 12:24pm On Jun 05, 2009
If we were practising true federalism in Nigeria, this would have been a non-issue.
Truth being told, Nigeria is not ripe enough to have state police force.

Not until we have a genuine constitution, not until we begin to practise true federalism, not until we set aside tribalism and sectarianism will we ever move forward as a Nation.

Fashola's proposed state police will slowly become like the sometimes oppressive LASTMA.
PoliticsRe: The Real Warri (with Pictures) by ThinkRait: 11:58am On Jun 05, 2009
Warri has little or no highrise buildings. This is a fact.
Warri is small when compared to Lagos. But we must not that Lagos is a city-state.
Warri happens to be the commercial nerve centre of Delta state.

One thing that will never change is the attitude of the people. The ever-evolving pidgin english. the langua of d people.
People from every part of Nigeria live in Warri.

Abi, I lie?

Good people of Nigeria.

When we rebrand, we show the world our good side, just the positives. Delta state is being rebranded. Some of the comments on this thread are really cool.
I've lived in Warri, PHC, Katsina, Kaduna and Abuja. I currently reside in Lagos. If I want to have fun, Warri is the place. If I want to make money Lagos and maybe PHC. If I want to research on poverty and ghost workers, Katsina wont be a bad place to start. If I want to loot and stash, Abuja!!

Every city has its slums, Warri is no different.
PoliticsRe: Arewa Backs Action In Delta, S'south Alleges Genocide by ThinkRait: 7:50pm On May 29, 2009
No responsible government will fold its arms and watch criminality. But the responsible northern state governments are folding their arms and allowing Nigeriens cross our borders to cause havoc.

The ACF meeting had different issues in its agenda but all they came out wit was a statement on the Niger Delta.
They should have proffered a solution to the influx of people from Niger republic. The should have proferred a solution to the educational backwardness of Northerners.
PoliticsRe: Arewa Backs Action In Delta, S'south Alleges Genocide by ThinkRait: 7:46pm On May 29, 2009
I'm not surprised at the utterances of ACF.
When a so called Senator from Kebbi state called for the killing of all Niger Deltans so that Nigeria can have free access to the oil from their land, some people on NL said he was speaking for himself. Now it is clear that he spoke the mind of his kinsmen, Yar'Adua inclusive.

How many Nigerians have we lost to the militant activities?
How many Nigerians have we lost to religous crises in the North?

Some of the militants are criminals, I agree. But they have never attacked people from other parts of the north. The Northerners attack southerners (especially Igbos) with reckless abandon and nobody has ever called for the military to attack them. Now the so called northern elite, represented by ACF, is calling for what I dont know.

It is now crystal clear that the arrangement called Nigeria, is one of convenience. We don't have true Nigerians. All we have are Hausa/ Fulanis, Yorubas, Igbos, Niger Deltans.

The day the oil reserves in the ND dries up, that same day we'll see the Northerners calling for a break up of the country.
I weep for Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: You Must Pay Tax, Lagos Tells Pastors, Imams by ThinkRait: 8:46am On May 27, 2009
This thread is not about Kalabari mythology, neither is it about how rich a certain Pst Adeboye is.

It is about taxes and taxes alone. I honestly don't think its right to condemn anybody. I don't know if Adeboye is a real man of God, thats not my business. My concern is, they should be taxed like every other Nigerian.

Market women and petty traders pay taxes in form of levies. So people that can afford 3000 square meals a day should also pay.

No religous leader can rightly condemn any politician since they contribute little or nothing to the govt coffers.

Please Lagos lawmakers, Fast track the passage of the tax bill when u get it.

"Ironically, Niweigha is the elder brother of Duoye, Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Governor Timipre Sylva, who was at a time orderly to former Minister of Energy, Dr Edmund Daukoru, who is now the paramount ruler of Nembe Kingdom.
THISDAY also gathered that the Executive Assistant to the governor (name withheld) is the immediate junior sister to Henry Okah, the militant leader standing trial for alleged gun running. The Executive Assistant is also the Personal Secretary to the governor and she wields enormous influence in government
Udeka gave the names of the three other arrested militants as Etete Diepreye, Lucky Ogun and Kurotimi Gabriel.
When interviewed by reporters, Niweigha admitted that the berretta pistol was found on him, explaining that he armed himself with it because he was the Odi Local Government Area Coordinator of the Bayelsa Volunteer."
Thisday newspapers 27/05/2009

So, tell me. Who are the militants?
People in government, I'm tempted to say!

From today's Thisday newspaper

This tells me the Government and the millitants are one and the same.
The only solution to the crisis is political.

Niger Delta: Is Their Solution In Sight?

I have a little problem with this quetion. It is a Nigerian problem, not a ND problem. What is going on is affecting Nigeria as a nation, the economy is gradually collapsing due to the falling oil production. The moment we start seeing this as a collective problem, then, and only then can we begin to find the solution.

Niger Delta: Is the solution in sight?

Card crimes are rampant the world over.

Mr Soludo's decision to ban banks from placing their ATMs in public places will help reduce this new crime in Nigeria. You cant go into any bank premises in Nigeria without getting filmed (Hope I'm correct!! huh).

Wait oh!!! How did the card cloning machines get into Nigeriahuh Nigerian Customs Service, answer this.
PoliticsRe: War In Niger Delta: Mend Threatens Northerners In Oil Industry by ThinkRait: 5:51pm On May 25, 2009
Granted, our leaders are corrupt but some of us will simply kill to get what we want.

What we should be discussing is, "How do we solve the current impasse?"

@ Biina,
If you are elected into the senate, will this be the kind of contributions you'll make?
PoliticsRe: War In Niger Delta: Mend Threatens Northerners In Oil Industry by ThinkRait: 7:19pm On May 23, 2009
This is becoming a war or words which will not change the reality on ground.

Texazzpete, webdezzi and naijaking will not change their stance neither will Ibime and SapeleGuy.

If you guyz think you are smart and want to be heard, proceed to NTA, channels, AIT or tv continental. They love people that argue endlessly.

The truth remains that the onslaught will only reduce the activities of the militants. The people in these communities will continue suffering. The rigging party will continue rigging their way to the govt houses. The people will continue suffering, the cry for marginalisation will become louder, the politicians and militants will steal more crude, the military and militants will continue in their propaganda and the rest of the world will continue laughing at us.

Nigeria is getting rebranded. By 2020 we will laugh last.
