BLOODY COWARDS One of the Bama leaders said he found it hard to understand why their colleagues in Maiduguri were lying to the press about the status of Bama. He told SaharaReporters that he had fled Bama along with many soldiers to Maiduguri. “I even used my car more than fifteen times to drive soldiers from Konduga to Maiduguri,” he said. |
THE TRUTH IS FINALLY OUT A former Minister of Petroleum, Prof Tam David-West, has berated President Goodluck Jonathan for failing to address the security situation in the country. David-West said he was convinced that the President was afraid of Boko Haram that was why he (Jonathan) refused to visit the parents of the schoolgirls that were kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State over four months ago. http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-is-afraid-of-boko-haram-says-david-west/ |
Anxiety, panic gripped residents of Mubi, the commercial nerve centre of Adamawa State, yesterday, as news spread that Boko Haram insurgents were closing in on the town. This came as the military vowed that the onslaught to checkmate activities of the terrorists will not stop until they are completely wiped out. The military has also claimed that it raided the terrorists’ hideout in Kawuri, killing more than 50 of the terrorists as it recovered anti-aircraft guns, armoured tank and artillery gun. An officer and two soldiers were wounded during the raid according to the military. President Goodluck Jonathan, on his part urged Nigerians to pray for the security forces as they battle the insurgency. In the last five days, the insurgents have allegedly taken over five towns in Borno and Adamawa states. The towns are Bama, the second largest town in Borno; Bara and Banki as well as Gulak and Madagali in Adamawa State. In Mubi, yesterday, there was stampede and confusion as people ran helter skelter following an alert that the insurgents were closing in on the town. The entire city was almost deserted. According to one report, the insurgents were also close to Vimtim, the home town of the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh. It was gathered that armoured tanks have, however, been deployed to the area to scare away the advancing insurgents. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/boko-haram-tension-heightens-adamawa/#sthash.9z8iBBg2.dpuf |
Families and non-military staff residing in two major military barracks in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, are being evacuated after Islamist insurgents dropped letters announcing their plan to take the most important city in Nigeria’s northeast region. Families and non-military staff residing in two major military barracks in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, are being evacuated after Islamist insurgents dropped letters announcing their plan to take the most important city in Nigeria’s northeast region. The letters were dropped at the gates of Giwa and Maimalari military barracks as well as different parts of the city of Maiduguri. Several soldiers also told SaharaReporters that some of their colleagues had fled the barracks after the letters were circulated amongst military personnel yesterday. A military officer at Defense Headquarters in Abuja said he was not aware of any desertions. The letter detailing the planned attack on Maiduguri was written in the Hausa language. It specifies that Boko Haram’s unpredictable leader, Abubakar Shekau, planned to personally lead insurgent fighters to attack Maimalari, the more formidable of the two barracks, and to fight to the death as a martyr. “Soldiers are moving their wives and children out because they should not be there if a battle begins,” a security source said. Boko Haram appears emboldened by its success in capturing Bama, the second largest city in Borno State. The Nigerian army and officials of Borno State were so rattled by the insurgents’ seizure of Bama that they claimed for two days that the town remained under Nigerian troops’ control. However, a senior official of the Borno State government told SaharaReporters yesterday that there was no doubt that Bama had fallen to the insurgents. A senior United States official also acknowledged the capture of the town by insurgents, and disclosed that the US would provide logistical assistance to the Nigerian government to help secure Maiduguri. Yesterday, the Islamist terrorists began an apparent push towards Maiduguri by killing some 30 people near Kawuri town. They now have just an army checkpoint in Konduga standing between them and Maiduguri, a city with more than two million residents. |
Nigeria's militant Islamist group Boko Haram has captured the key north-eastern town of Michika, residents say, gaining more territory in its efforts to create an Islamic state. People fled into bushes as gunfire rang out in the town, they added.Boko Haram has changed tactics in recent months by holding on to territory rather than launching hit-and-run attacks. The government called on Nigerians not to lose hope. The military was committed to defending Nigeria's territorial integrity, it said. Soldiers killed 50 militants during a raid on their hideout in the small north-eastern town of Kawuri at the weekend, the army said. Last month, Boko Haram said it had established an Islamic state in areas it controls in north-eastern Nigeria.Michika is a trading centre in Adamawa state not far from the Cameroon border. 'Fear and panic' concern is mounting that the group plans to target Maiduguri, capital of neighbouring Borno state, says the BBC Hausa Service's Bilikisu Babangida. Thousands of people who have fled towns and villages captured by Boko Haram are taking refuge in the city, which has a population of about two million. The fall of Michika will add to the fear and panic that has gripped the north-east, as it shows Boko Haram is gaining territory not only in their heartland of Borno but also in Adamawa state, our reporter says. Thousands of extra soldiers have failed to quell the five-year insurgency.Amid fears that Boko Haram could advance further into Adamawa, the university in Mubi town has shut, she says. On Thursday, the militants captured the small town of Gulak after earlier seizing Madagali, which borders Adamawa and Borno states. Residents told the BBC that Boko Haram fighters entered Michika on Sunday in a convoy of vehicles. A military jet circled over the town, causing the militants to hide in people's homes, they said. There was confusion as people ran into the bush fleeing gunfire, residents added. It was unclear who opened fire as the insurgents often wear uniforms similar to the Nigerian soldiers, they said. Last year, President Goodluck Jonathan imposed a state of emergency in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states, vowing to send more troops to crush the insurgency. However, Boko Haram as stepped up its offensive since then. In April, the militants captured more than 200 girls from a boarding school in the town of Chibok, also in Borno state. Countries such as China, France, the UK and US have sent military assistance to help find the girls but they have not yet been rescued. |

NIGERIAN ARMY If rains won’t touch the generals, why should the foot soldiers allow bullets to come near them? Cameroon, here we come............. This is what Nigerian solders is about, The strong oppressing the weak to the point that those who are paid by tax payers monies cannot hold their umbrella themselves anymore. That is why the Nigerian army has become weak and have had to run for safety in Cameroon Nigerian army lost it a long time ago when they yoked together with the corrupt politician Today, The Nigerian Army who were assigned to combat Boko Haram are now cooling off in Cameroon after being beaten by the Terrorist group in Northern Nigeria 'Tactical manoeuvre’ is another name for 'Tactical escape' from the butcher of Sambisa, Field Marshall Shekau and his soulless ragtag army. I have read and understood this incredible 'tactical maneouvre'. I think it is at best an argument that the fleeing soldiers may only tenuously enter in their own desperate defence from the dock when arraigned before a Cameroonian War Tribunal. Under international law it is a treasonable offence for a soldier of a country to bear arms and forcibly enter into a foreign territory. If however the Cameroonian Tribunal accepts this desperate and tenuous defence, any Nigerian soldier may engage in such 'tactical maneouvre' from time to time - regardless that Nigeria's military barracks may become empty and have no soldiers left in consequence.

The Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT), which is located in the Richards Bay harbour on the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa, is the largest coal export facility in Africa. Positioned at one of the world’s deep sea ports, RBCT is able to handle large ships and subsequent large volumes. As such, it has gained a reputation for operating efficiently and reliably. The 260 hectare site currently boasts a quay 1,6 kilometres long with five berths and four ship loaders. Currently, the terminal has a storage capacity of 6.7 million tons of coal and is serviced by six stacker reclaimers, two stackers and a reclaimer. In September 2006, RBCT set a new world record by loading and exporting 409,809 tons of coal in a 24 hour period at an annualised rate of 149.17 million tons per annum (Mt/a). Potential throughput is to reach 91 million tons a year by the first half of 2009. @AUGUSTUS A THIRD WORLD LIKE NIGERIA CANNOT ACHIEVE SUCH A FEAST
