What kind of messages do you hear when you go to church? Are they messages that make you comfortable in sin?. Does your church preach about eternity, heaven, hell fire, rapture, holiness etc? If someone talks about holiness in your church, does the person look odd or overzealous? Are your church members always ashamed to hold physical book-like Bible?

If what they always preach to you in church is only about succeeding in business, favour, impact, prosperity, riches, marriage & relationship, open doors etc, then your soul is starved. Though such messages are good, but you need to be made ready, prepared and always conscious of eternity & rapture.

I am one of the writers in the Literature section of Nairaland. I am writing this to respectfully share a concern that has been on my mind for a while.

I was the first and, as far as I know, the only writer to reach 2 million views in the Literature section. When I started writing on the platform, the energy was very high. Readers were active, writers were motivated, and there was healthy competition for the top spot. It pushed many of us to give our best.

Unfortunately, things have changed.

The current treatment and support for writers is not encouraging. Many writers are losing motivation, and the strong competition that once made the Literature section lively is gradually fading away. It feels like the section is no longer receiving the attention it deserves

I believe the Literature section still has great potential if a few improvements are considered.

Here are some humble suggestions:

Feature outstanding stories regularly on the front page to give writers more visibility.

Bring back the monthly or quarterly awards for top-performing writers and stories.

Create pinned guides or support threads to help new writers grow and stay motivated.

Improve moderation in the Literature section to reduce spam and keep discussions quality.

Consider partnerships, contests, or reading challenges that can bring readers back and revive healthy competition.

Boss, many of us are passionate about writing and about the platform. We simply want to see the Literature section grow again and become vibrant like it used to be.

Thank you for your time and for building a platform that has helped many Nigerian writers find their voice. I sincerely hope our concerns will be considered.

I travel to my parent’s house recently. I saw him in one of the new local Yoruba movies like that when watching our family tv. It seems he’s back to the screen. I hope he lasts this time around.

I already knew APC will win that FCT local government election. ADC is still coming up unlike APC that has prepared ahead of time but I’m 100 per cent certain that ADC will get it right soon despite the frustration from the ruling party with their filipant litigation just to frustrate ADC chances in the forthcoming polls. And what Nigerians are truly after is the forthcoming presidential election especially on how to change Tinubu government, and let me also say Lagos state elections too.

Alleged false Rape claims: Ogun police release update on Mirabel

The Ogun State Police Command has given an update on Abigeal Nsikak, popularly known as Mirabel on TikTok, following the rape allegation she made online.

In a statement released this evening February 25, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said upon her visit to the police station, she was received and taken to a medical facility for necessary examination to verify her claims. She has continued to cooperate with investigators as due process progresses.

Babaseyi mentioned that in consideration of her welfare and support needs, she has been released to the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. The Ministry has undertaken responsibility for her care and has assured the Command that she will be made available whenever required as investigations continue.

He assure the public that the matter is being handled with professionalism, sensitivity, and diligence. He urged members of the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to run its full course. Further updates will be provided as necessary.

Mirabel became an internet sensation after she shared a video in which she recounted how she was purportedly raped by a an anonymous man who invaded her home. Mirabel who is an orphan, later had a chat with social critic, Very Dark Man, who she informed that she made up the story. She claimed she is depressed and has a lot on her mind.
