There's a new app that address the card security issue effectively. It was launched by Access Bank last month. It's called PayWithCapture (www.paywithcapture.com) and works online and offline. It's a secure, convenient and smart way to make payments on-line, in-store and In-app. It's already accepted by Spar, Medplus, Arik Air, Ethiopian Airlines, Jumia, Konga, payporte, Airtime purchase and so many more merchants. Simply download the app for free (on iOS, Android, Blackberry platforms), Link your payment mode (Card, Bank Account or Mobile wallet) Scan QR-Codes at merchant locations, confirm amount and PAY! Payment is as simple as taking a selfie. Other benefits: Quick, one-click payment The app can be linked to all accounts, cards, and mobile wallets. You do not need to type in your card details online or expose your cards for transactions anymore. The accounts identifies and debits a funded account if the default account is not funded. Works offline. Can be set up to make regular payments. Can be used by customers of all banks (through their credit/debit cards).

A system is only as good as the processes and procedures it operates with - and how effectively those processes and procedures are implemented, reviewed and updated. This is the primary function of the govt. agencies and by extension, the FG. It is sad that IMPUNITY has eaten into our system so deeply that mediocrity and utter ineptitude is the order of the day. Nigerians need citizens' opinion platforms like @flyteXperience to make valuable contribution to the system. |

The "REAL THIEVES" are those pot-bellied, arrogant and increasingly clueless bunch in Abuja, Lagos, Rivers, Bayelsa and every other "lucrative" state in Nigeria who have stolen the basic social benefits of the present day from this generation and are determined to steal the future of this generation and of those unborn. Until we are bold enough to bring them to JUSTICE in every definitive sense of the word, then this shameful, babaric and hypocritical act will continue. olokfor: An angry mob has set three suspected armed robbers ablaze in Ikotun, Lagos State. |

Abati is a disappointment to the struggle for a better Nigeria - just as many other people. Why hasn't he resigned still? Let us weigh him by the standards he has set for a honorable gentleman in the first paragraph of the article in question. By his own "standards" he has FAILED. Failed himself and his lineage. He is a classical example of why Nigeria is a huge joke to the international community. If he is not honorable and gentlemanly enough to resign, I think we need to remind him that there are honorable people in the society and he is unfit to address us. |

Interesting! On one hand, they are actually "communicating" to a select portion of the society - at a level they will understand; In so many other ways, they are defrauding "unsuspecting" (and I must add, GULLIBLE) citizens. 1 Like |

- Silly email address: it’s no crime to be sexy, cute, “hawt” and all that but killerfire@domain.com, 2sexyrealdirty@domain.com.. etc etc. is amateurish. Enough said. Let’s just say your application had a cutesy email address because you failed to properly proofread your résumé. Some recruiters may not find it a big deal but that’s not a risk you want to take. Advice: cutesy email addresses don’t say anything professionally appealing about you; opening an account with any domain is still free, last I checked. Get serious about your job search, have an official email address. To add to this point, I would advise that as a rule of thumb, your default "formal" email address should be in the format: "first name"."last name"@domain.com (if you may, try to stick with gmail or yahoo - many corporations have default settings in their web admin that will "bounce" emails from certain domain names/types to their junk mailbox. Please be guided.) |

I know this thread is about auto mechanics but please permit me to add this tyre specialist: Name: Alfa (I call him Alfa toh m'oye - meaning Smart Alfa). Location: Beside Mobil Service Station/Mobil House, Victoria island Lagos. Contact: 08062697059 Core competence: Wheels and tyres Pros: He is one man I got to know by happenstance - I had a flat around in V/I and i drove into mobil service station to get my tyre fixed - nothing extraordinary; what impressed me though was the set of equipment this guy uses and the careful procedures he follows in executing his work. He is also calm and cool headed. I will recommend him any day. Cons: He comes across as a "road-side" guy - that's if you do not see his equipment or stop to have a chat with him. 2 Likes |
Business / Re: New Scammer ( Austin Azubuike ) by Thosen(m): 12:06pm On Jul 21, 2011 |
Hello, Have not meet this Austin guy though, but incidental i meet one guy talking about them needing pump cork to be gotten at Ayobo power plant, and i seriously smell a rat, cause the guy is so hasten, he is not even talking about his commission, he just want me to link up with the contractor that will be bringing the money, then id buy the stuff for them and bla bla, and has refused to disclose where he knows me. The heart of man is desperately wicked, seeking whom to devour, they have failed. My brother run and don't look back. Someone tried the same with me earlier this year, even calling me by name and coming with a similar proposal to the one you mentioned. But he picked race when I insisted he must tell me where he knows me from before any further discussion with him. Guys, these scammers are getting really serious - I tink they are getting better by the day. I just got a call a few minutes ago from a guy who claims to know me as he was working with one of our clients in my former company. I know that by virtue of my JD, i had given out my call cards and sent emails to a lot of people. This guy called me by name; told me where i worked; called my boss' name - every single line was on point but i was not at peace in my spirit. I told him I am very good with names and faces but i could not recognise his. His proposal is that same Ayobo Power Plant - someone coming to pay me to pick up , bla bla bla. My first action was to check Ayobo Power plant online - and thanks to this thread! The major reason i'm contributing to this thread is to lend my voice against this line of scam. people please BEWARE!!! Let's kill greed and 419 - it starts with you and I speaking up. |

Politics / Obasanjo Condemns Heroic Reception For Bode George by Thosen(m): 9:50am On Mar 05, 2011 |
Now the recent twist in obasanjo's views has got me thinking, has he gotten so old that he feels he has nothing at stake in Nigeria anymore? Is he taking Nigeria for a joke? - says he's "proud" of Alao Akala; that he was "tricked" to attend Bode George's "thanksgiving". . . Obasanjo condemns heroic reception for Bode George By Francis Falola, Abeokuta Saturday, 5 Mar 2011 Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Friday, condemned the recent heroic welcome organised for a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George. George was, last Saturday, released from the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons after he completed a two-year jail term. The lavish reception that was organised for him by the PDP and which was attended by Obasanjo had attracted criticisms from Nigerians. But Obasanjo, in an interview with journalists in Abeokuta on Friday, shortly after a public lecture to mark his 74th anniversary, said that he was tricked to attend the reception organised for the ex-convict. The former President, who had earlier in the interview denied his alleged “do-or-die” comment on the April polls, said, “You got it wrong again. I was not part of the celebration of (Bode) George’s release. “And let us get a few things right. When (Bode) George went to prison, the first thing that I did was to find out from his lawyer what really went wrong. What the lawyer said was not what I found out eventually. “Then, he (Bode George) sent a passionate message to me from prison, urging me to attend a family church thanksgiving and I believe that for whatever reason, if any family is giving thanks in the church or in the mosque and they invite me and I am able to go there, I will go, whether it is for marriage, for burial, house warming or christening a child. But when I got to the church, the atmosphere I found was more than a family affair. “And I even took the opportunity to ask the state PDP chairman, ‘Is this a PDP affair?’ “And he told me it was not a PDP affair because I don’t see why the PDP, as a national party, as a party that is trying to form a government in Lagos State, as a party that formed the government at the national level and in at least 27 states in the country, should be celebrating criminality because whatever we may say, the reason Bode went to prison should be condemned by everybody and I have condemned it. He did not go to prison for a political offence. “If he had been sent to prison for a political offence, then, he comes back and all his political associates may get round him and the PDP must do something noble and wholesome; but in this case, the PDP as a party must dissociate itself from celebrating criminality. Obasanjo added, “When I asked the state chairman, he said, ‘You know Area Boys, they do hijack things lie this.’ But I believe if it is Area Boys, you leave it to the Area Boys and not to the PDP. He denied the recent statement of “do-or-die” politics credited to him at President Goodluck Jonathan’s political rally in Lagos. He said, “You see, people in the press, it must be either you are deliberately ignorant or misinformed or uneducated or mischievous. Whichever one, I think it is not good. I went to a campaign and I sang, ‘Lau erebe’…. (a Yoruba lyrical song). “How can I vote and you steal my vote and you expect me to accept that? And you said that that is “do-or-die.” If you want to do it, go and do it; if you want to die, go and die. I stand by what I meant and what I said, that if I vote, my vote, my party’s votes must not be stolen. “We had suffered it before. In 2003, the PDP won in Lagos and that was stolen. Now, PDP will not stand for a stolen election. They have moved from direct stealing to stealing through the judiciary and you said that I should accept that, aren’t you part of that, don’t you know that?” He lamented the lingering political crisis in the PDP in Ogun State and expressed the hope that soon, the conflict would be resolved and all parties in the disputes would unite and work for PDP’s victory at the April polls. In facilitating the rebuilding process in the party in Ogun, Obasanjo said that he had mandated the governorship candidate of the party in the state to institute a reconciliatory committee to unite all the members. “I am the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PDP. As the chairman, I am supposed to be the conscience of the party. “Whatever is the rift, I am supposed to find an amicable settlement. I have done it in other states, why not in my state? “I have told (Chief Tunji) Olurin to extend his hand of fellowship to other people. I have told him to set up a reconciliation committee even before the court ruled,” he stated. On why he kept quiet in spite of the criticisms against him, especially from the political actors in the state, on the situation in Ogun, Obasanjo said he kept quiet or reacted according to biblical injunction. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20110305829048 |
