I know bro...you can't even get a 3k rpm in most of these our roads asides while traveling via the expressway but i was just curious since it's a newly changed transmission coz i was thinking probably it might be the transmission hence why i brought it here on Nairaland

Well, I would like to know the kind of car you're using. If you're using a high performance car of 500Hp and above, then you should be worried of your rev not passing 4k RPMs, but if it's the regular car with hp range of 139-250hp, I think your rev doesn't have a business in 4k RPMs mark, 2-3k RPMs is the optimum rev. Anything above that, you're driving to kill yourself.

It's actually a Toyota Corolla....yeah i know one won't even get 4k RPMs on 95% of our roads here asides expressway sha...but yunno i was just skeptical coz i ve done 5k RPMs on the highway so i was just like let me feel this new transmission alas i noticed it won't rev pass 4k RPMs

Exactly , a lot of people don’t know the major work of the engine cooling system of a car engine and other engine but let’s focus the cooling system on the car engine . Let’s start from your car thermostat function and it’s relationship with the radiator and the team work they are both doing for your engine . In a sim play layman understanding; you start your car , your water pumps start working as the engine is working because the your engine belt runs through it also , now it passing the water in and out of the engine and through the thermostat in your engine , so your radiator absorbs the engine heat , retains it to help your car gets to its peak performance, ( every car need to be heated up to a certain level ) so when the heat is getting above recommended heat for the engine , the heat pressure pushes and compresses the thermostat which automatically triggers your fan to work , so now the thermostat gets back to it position the moment the heat is reduced and the fan stops working . Now it’s keeps your engine are a particular heat level , not to go too high or too low.
Back to the reason your car consumes more fuel after listening to your road side mechanic who will have told you that 9ija is too hot and where the car is coming from is too cold so you don’t need the thermostat, or else your car will keep overheating lolz , fiam them don remove am and by pass your fan relay , INFACT that is the beginning of your car problem but you might not notice immediately.
Yes when your car runs on below recommend temperature for your engine , it’s takes more fuel , my next post I will show you exactly how but let me focus on the one you will understand faster, I saw lots of post saying alternator charges the battery while fan get power from battery there for it has nothing to do with fuel lolz , INFACT is has everything to do with fuel , “have you had of battery over charging before “. What you are doing is making the alternator over work ,most times when your battery is fully charged your alternator stops charging it but you will never notice that because it’s does not work like your AC compressor that you see the physical cutting of power , that is the reason your battery don’t get overcharged and the moment your battery start over charging, that mean something is wrong with your alternator, in conclusion, you are making your alternator work too much by always charging the battery since the fan is always on there by take more tole on engine .
There is another major important of thermostat a lot of people don’t know , immagine you driving on a raining day through flooded str , if your thermostat is working , the minute you enter flood , the engine temperature drops immediately and the fan will never pick Exept your AC is on ( why it’s always advisable to off your AC while driving through flood ) but what do you think happens when you connect your fan directly, it’s means your fan keep running inside flood and in most cases destroys the blades and in a long run the fan engine . Hello Friends, i recently changed my gearbox coz the former was faulty and after a week usage, i noticed my car doesn't rev past 4,000 RPMs. Though the gear selects very fine without issues or hassles but just this issue so it got me worried if it's the gear itself that has issues or probably any other underlying mechanical or electrical issue.

I contacted the seller and he said it might just be an electrical fault and he's gonna look into it but i'm just curious to throw this to the nairaland family. Is it an issue to be worried about and is it something that can be fixed.

Please i'll appreciate professional comments and advices as regards this issue.

I gave it to an engineer to help me reinstall the operating system and he was telling me I would have to change the hard drive?

Can I boot it with an external drive. Because I have an external drive.

It has crashed...just change the hard drive and reload do a fresh installation of original windows software...my emphasis on "original"....then your laptop should be fine

My Sienna developed a gear issue some time last year in Ogun State. I contacted him in March and tried to buy a gearbox from him but I couldn't afford it then. It took me 7 months to get the money together and I paid this man for a gearbox (13 pin) paid for delivery and labour and also purchased the recommended Gear Oil for 100k and he sold me a lemon of a gearbox. A badly rehashed gearbox that did not even last one full day.

I called him and his mechanic repeatedly and nothing happened. I had to buy another gearbox one month ago.

He knows me. I took the gearbox to Akute. I await his response or his version before I post further details.

Hmmm....This is bad....I'm Soo sorry for this...Thank God i haven't even contacted him coz i'm about to also get a gearbox from him....is the new gearbox you finally got now working fine?

Hello @Dozieson, Thank u for the advice. I got in touch with a seller hia on Nairaland. He offered to get the 13pin gear for 280k though based in Lagos. He also suggested his Mechanic cm to Kaduna wia am located to fix it. Turns out his Mechanic was not too cool with the idea. I eventually got the 13 pin gear hia in Kaduna for 340k and fixed for around
40k (gear oil inclusive). Everything runs smoothly like it was never changed. Even the error lights on my dashboard magically disappeared. Where I fixed my gear, I noticed some one came with a similar issue like mine and wanted to opt for the 10pin gear. Omoh that car no get head again oh. So thank u so much for the advice. It has quite difficult raisin the cash but now am resting

If you have a deep pocket, drain and refill with the recommended fluid. If not, drive as is and do the change after a year.

If you notice any form of slipping, drain and refill asap.
