I find it funny that creationists refuse to believe any other proof of the origin of life from scientists but they have embraced every other scientific breakthrough and they are enjoying everything that science has done to improve human life.

They believe everything in a biology text book except evolution.
There is a difference between operational science and historical or "origins" science .

Sometimes I wonder a lot of things too. Its very clear that Christianity, like wise Islam is a sham.

We have been duped for long. The bad news is that we call on Jewish pagan god and believe so much in them like we are being controlled by remote control.

How can a whole creator of the world use such means to spread information about him? How can he chose a tribe among all tribes in the whole world? How can he neglect all his other creations like they didn't exist and spent more than a thousand years interacting with just the Jews? Even when his so called son came, he said nothing about other tribes in Africa and Asia.

I have never been so happy that I have been liberated from the shackles of religion.
What do you understand by the term "Gentiles"?

Thanks everyone for the responses so far. I thank God for his mercies upon my life, I just graduated from the Uni and by November I will be going for service. The problem now is I can't wait anylonger. Some people are advicing me to get married forgetting the fact that I need a stable source of income first. My hormones are raging everyday, so is it a sin to self service once in a while till i get ready for marriage? I'm sure God will understand my predicament.

I grew up in a strong Christian family were I was indoctrinated to believe that fornication and masturbation is a sin. Now i'm in my early 20s and the urge to fornicate grows stronger and the only solution is masturbation which is also a "sin". So how do I relieve my self of the urge without comitting any sin?

Because I realized that absence of faith is the absence of god.
Because I cherish knowledge more than I cherish faith.

Darwin was not the pillar of atheism. Atheistic thought were already common in europe starting from 16th cemtury. Perhaps you mean he was the pillar of evolutionary thought. That would be right. But atheism is not synonymous with evolution, ok?

A reasonable person cannot associate the idea of a compassionate loving god with the realities of its creation. But then, if xtians were reasonable, there wouldn't be xtians.

following my poor performance for the past two years in the University with the inability to make it into 2nd class, i think i need your advice guys.

i applied through direct entry with a distinction from a polytechnic into a federal university. But i got carried away with "unnecessaries" that i couldn't make it even into the 2nd class level. now, we're about to end the session which is my 2nd year-which means i have only 1 year to complete my bsc program from that university (as it is a 4 year course).

i know i can't make it to second class form the result is too poor now.even if i have the best result in my final year, i won't still make it. Do you think it's a good idea to apply for another direct entry form next year into ilorin for i know i'm not that bad, but due to some "rubishes" i was involved. or do you think i should just carry on and end up with third class? pls your mature advice is needed!

thank you all
What course did you study bro?

of course I do Wiegraf, God (Yahweh ) created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him male and female he created them.

people got killed because they were negligent with their lives, faith in religion or in a pastor is not faith in God, reasoning enhance faith and not the other way round, most religious followers do not think because they have been hypnotised.

man was born to die some days and this should not be attributed to God's anger when a death is tragic, as for tb Joshua and his contractors who have raised substandard buildings in the name of god should not go unpunished for they have breech the laws of our land.

as to the dead, I will say tb Joshua has no contract with any one of then whatsoever, they were in the collapsed building by chance and by their own illegal and voluntary movement, they were looking for god and so they have found god.

answer---a sky dweller does not exist but God exist.

don't ask me for proves.
You took the words right out of my mouth sir +100

Dapo777:
So God is not powerful enough to prevent the collapse? You are such a lunatic.

I am very sure you must have attributed it to God Fr the few that survived, and dismissed the other people that died and say It's God's plan. Isn't it?

Anyway God doesn't dwell in temples made by man. He dwells in temples made by themselves. grin
What I'm trying to say sir, is that the negligence of the contractors that tragically led to the collapse of the structure could have been avoided . what happened to the church building could happen to a w/hore house or a strip club. the key words here is HUMAN ERROR. calling me a lunatic won't change this fact. God is not mocked, what ever a man sows that shall he reap. RIP to the dead.

Christianity Etc › Re: Synagogue Tragedy: The Obituary Of God Or The Obituary Of Common Sense? by Thugnificent(m): 11:55pm On Nov 06, 2014
plaetton:
Both are tragedies. Both were caused by wicked men who put profit ahead of lives .
But what makes a church building collapse much more intriguing is that it is supposed to be a sanctuary where people come to feel the presence, the protective power of a loving god.

The tragedy raises serious questions about what we believe, what people are being sold by pulpit p.I.MPs.
If god that you beseech every hour cannot save a person, a believer, from such a horrific and embarrassing death, then what can God really do for you on this earth.

Who needs god, and why?
so you agree that the tragedy was caused by human error right ? God is clearly not in support of greed or covetousness. not withstanding, I'm clearly not favoring the pastorpreneurs, but the crux of the matter is that all this tragedies could clearly have been avoided. I'm sad life was lost but blaming God for the tragedy is just pathetic grasping at straws by a well known atheist on this forum.
Christianity Etc › Re: Synagogue Tragedy: The Obituary Of God Or The Obituary Of Common Sense? by Thugnificent(m): 10:06pm On Nov 06, 2014
plaetton:
Human error?
That's my point bro.
Where is god before and after humans make these tragic errors?

Is God incapable if overriding common human errors, especially when such errors portend doom for his faithful worshippers who beseech him day and night to protect them from such calamities, more especially in a temple dedicated to him?
Your logic is laughable. what's the difference between the collapse of a "church " building and the collapse of the clothing factory in Bangladesh? and besides , God doesn't dwell in Temples made with human hands.

I'm still wondering how God comes into the picture in this your epistle, the SCOAN tragedy was clearly caused by human error, please get that into your head Mr plaetton . the funny thing with so called atheists is they can't stop talking about a God they don't believe in. Quite ironic if you ask me .

First, hellfire is for religious imbec.iles.
I reject your delusions of an invisible skydaddy, so by rejecting that delusion, I also reject the entire package of devil, evil spirits, demons, angels, heaven and hellfire.

I do not smoke those drugs.

As for filthy lucre, I do not put my mind nor build my life on filthy lucre.

If I did, I would be a pastor of the church of Jesus christ.
So you're not afraid of eternal torment? and besides, why are you clearly in support of intimate perversion?

Then I have a problem with your god's moral compass.
It's too far below my moral compass.

In fact, I think he is post-diagnosed as being schizophrenic.

You see why religious faith makes no sense?
hell fire is your destination Mr plaetton unless you remove your mind from filthy lucre
