Eteka1:Pls enumerate why agree with him? |
They are scared of letting go the legacy system bequeathed on them by the former colonialist. The Nigeria security system is a relic left by the former colonial masters to serve their interest only. The only difference then and now is that the elite has taken over the legacy system and is scared of letting go because it serves their interest just fine. Lol Then they make these silly excuses why they can't let it go to Nigerians, their supporters swallows it hook line and sinker and propagate same. It is brutal out here. |
Moroccoguy:I believe this is same excuse the IG is giving the he failed to enumerate. I will call it Horseshit...create modalities, limits of state Government power, consequences for breaches for the rules it was first established like political witchhunt and all... Look if we want to get it right, we would. |
I wont be surprised if he becomes proponent of state police when he retires from the police, they are mostly like that. President Tinubu was once a proponent of the retention of fuel subsidy when he was an opposition but now that he's the president he suddenly sees the need to do away with it. Well, surprise! suprise! Mr. Egbetokun, Nigerians take every info coming from you lots with 'a grain of salt'. It is surprising you guys dont get the memo, nobody trust y'all...there's a huge disconnect between the Government and the Governed. So it's only the presidency that is mature enough to call the shots. Continueeeee. I see this as colonialism. Well, it is not for you to decide, we Nigerians will decide when the times comes. |
I have so much to say about this. |
Fujiyama:"Not a single one of the assailants in the Plateau massacres was captured or killed" (This is deep) Now imagine 160 Americans or Europeans getting killed in their homesteads and the generals will say "They can't access the terrain". What do you think will happen? |
Waterysperm:Lol.... I see on news when government officials visiting these places... the first thing on my mind is "Hunt down these freaking terrorists" but then i realise this is a depopulation strategy and some of the security personnel are in cahoot with the terrorists. |
Ireportlive:What does this even mean?? So what are they getting paid for? It is the job of the armed forces to devise a way to maneuver such terrains, no excuses, afterall what's the huge budget being appropriated to the armed yearly meant for? Citizens should not be left at the mercy of terrorists just because of the Government's incompetence. What was the cause of Israel's IDF war with Hamas? 160 people died and the military is saying they can't access the terrain? So if it was foreign invaders, na him be say the country don fall be that. Shior!!! |
Ireportlive:Are you a Government official? If yes, why not launch a manhunt for these killers and arrest them abi dem be Ghosts Let's start from there first. |
OZIOGU1:I do not fault your assertions at all, not a single bit, it is the kind of politics we play in this Country, even our national politics is no different but it doesn't have to be that way. It is quite understandable that as a direct beneficiary of development, however it comes is welcome by you. Being in support of "na turn by turn" gets us nowhere though. What about the areas that have not had the Governor, it means they would be living in caveman era. So ododo will develop ebira Land for another 8 years and then he leaves for okuns to develop theirs, that is if they're fortunate to capture the seat. Lol, na wa We should be looking for candidates that considers every part of the states as their constituents and not ethnic champions or dont you think so, it fosters unity. If we are to make a meaningful progress as a nation we must actively get involved in politics; like Epictetus once said; "the price you pay for not participating in politics is to be governed by your inferiors" In my opinion though. I'm just looking at the future. |
You just reinforced what I was trying to explain, Infrastructural development and good governance transcends tribe. If the state was making progress I don't think the issue of tribe comes into play, it only happens in this part of the world cos we are Africans and deeply tribal. Like I said, there was nothing they campaigned with showed they were gonna lift the citizens of that state out of poverty and because you can win elections doesn't mean you can govern. Nigerians are now enlightened to fall for these tribal gimmicks, I wonder why these things keep happening. Ps, I'm not from Kogi. |
African man and Tribal politics, how does Usman Ododo , muritala or Dino winning the election bring development to this backward state. None, whatsoever. Well, there's nothing they campaigned with showed that they are going to get rid of the endemic poverty, backwardness and hopelessness in that state other than my tribe has been excluded and so therefore has to win the Election. I carried out a project in Kogi state some years ago, Okene to be precise, frankly speaking, the level of underdevelopment and poverty in that place is heartbreaking, women, men and children budgeting 100 for a meal (N70 garri and N30 kwili kwili) and yet Ebira man was in power. So my question is; "what has changed or what was going to change"? |

Some women will just give birth to rubbish. Pls women be selective of who you get pregnant for. |
Karleb:Well, you have made up your mind that looking eastward is much better. I believe the premise of your argument is based on the idea of a multipolar world which essentially is not a bad idea. If by achieving these goals is by claiming territories, bringing back empires, breaking known international laws so that they can compete then its criminal. I don't quite agree with this, this why Russia should not be allowed to win this war even if it last for a long time cos it will embolden other authoritarian states to do the same. What happens when Russia wins. Chinas takes on Taiwan, North Korea takes on South Korea and goes on. Top ten world economies are actually on the western hemisphere apart from China and India, do your research on however standards you want to measure it. Nigeria is not a communist state, we do not share the same ideology with China and co. We have nothing in common with them apart from TRADE. It was the same China that committed human right abuses against Uyghurs muslims, they were murdered in concentration camps, nobody said a word but the West you love to hate. No press freedom in Russia, the Kremlin will literally poison and assassinate dissenting voices, Kim Jong of North Korea nkor? Don't even get me started.... |
Karleb:If African countries have not fared well in matters of Econnomy, Demoracy and human & infrastructural Development do not blame the West It's mainly its leaders, they are short sighted, visionless, Myopic, corrupt and undiscerning. Like i said, African leaders and the Citizens have to be smart by taking advantage of Western technologies and advance its cause; in that way they'll be respected in comity of nations but when doing that you don't take sides. The African continent is small to take on these advanced countries economically, for instance UK does less in production but their economy is deep rooted in delivering first class services. Almost all commercial ships in the world are insured in Lloyds of London. Even the ships that delivered those beautiful marbles from Turkey to your house is probaly insured in Lloyds of London. It was in this same Forum someone posted that Nigerians in Disapora remitted about $163 billion dollars to Nigeria in the last 10 years or so (Im not too sure about the number of years), what Countries were those Monies remitted from? Whats the GDP of Russia; about 1.7 trillion Dollars for over 140 million people, what is the GDP of UK; about 3.2 Trillion dollars for 67 Million people. Can Russia afford to dole out financial aids to Africa. Look at Somalia for example, there a massive starvation and famine going on there but you wouldnt know, it took the help of the British Media, Doctors without borders and financial aids from West to rescue those kids that were dying in numbers. Where was China, North Korea or Russia?, busy building hypersonics and enlarging their military. I have lots friends and families across Europe and the Americas so I wouldnt want them to bear the brunt of silly mistakes of uninformed few over here, going to Social media and spreading anti west sentiments in the name of "i have right to opinion" and bla bla bla. (That was the area of concern of the OP) This war is real and it is changing a lot of things. Yes, South Africa operates a sophisticated economy, what about other sub-saharan countries whose GDPs cannot compete with a single state in America? should they carry placards too and shout death to the West? These guys have planned for the future, we need them bro. Even India, the world's 6th largest economy is maintaining a neutral stance but South Africa is jumping up and down and Africans (Nigerians) are cheering them. Well, their Rands is depreciating by the day. Look i am not an American or Western Lover but China, Russia or North Korea are hardly the role model you are advocating for. These guys are Authoritarians, Putin is gonna remain in power till 2030 or so, Xi ping has just won his historic 3rd term (10 years and counting) North Korea is a family dynasty lol. if we think democracy is the best type of government then we must always lean towards the west and be SMART about it too. Sorry for the long read and my errors. |
Gerrard59:I align with your thoughts. I see south Africa at the forefront in leading the rebellion against the West with Nigerian Citizens on the African continent as if the war concerns them. The Russians are the ones that started the war in any case. Even if you have strong reservations and opinions, pls keep it to yourself so you dont spoil it for others. I believe the consequences of taking sides is more dire than being neutral. Africans and thier leaders have to be smart and circumspect in foreign relations. If US and her allies begins sanctions and start revoking all benefits to the African citizens for the open rebellion they'll be the ones shouting Racism n shit. It even amazes me the Africans like despots and dictators. |
helinues:Word! |
SpatialKing:It's all figment of your imagination. The election has been conducted and a winner has been announced period, aggrieved persons should approach the competent courts. Any insurrections and trouble makers will be crushed by the security agencies. We need peace, enough of the grandstanding. Honestly, I would think the south easterners will go back to the drawing and start preparing for 2027 but they stil mourning over the loss of the election. They are not even talking about the Senate presidency, an important position to hold onto. The 5 eastern states is governed by 4 different parties, how do you now negotiate at the federal level? Excuse my brevity. |
SpatialKing:But why try to fix what is not broken. Is Lagos broken that LP needs to win it?. Even if it is broken why does it have to be the LP to win it? |
SpatialKing:Nobody is saying the APC is perfect but the LP made it too easy for dem. |
Well, it succeeded in dividing the country along region, religion and ethnic lines. Simples!! |
Shoosh! From your insults, It ain't hard to tell what part of the country you're from. This post is not about Peter Obi, if Obi was man enough, why will he bow out of PDP when things were heating up. This is about Wike and his integrity group demanding for equal representation in Government between the two regions should in case the PDP wins the presidential election. Weren't you in this country when PMB won the presidential elections and his government was favouring a section of the country....that's the contention..... or do you honestly believe Labour party can win this General elections? I think not but it is not a bad idea to have a third force. Perhaps if they continue with this momentum, they might be able to win in the future. Honjoshy4u: |
Honjoshy4u:Hush!!! Where were you and your likes when Wike shouldered the party during and after the 2015 elections. Your so-called presidential candidate and his entourage were with APC working towards the defeat of PDP, now the bride is fine again and now these ex decampees want to marry the bride. You ingrate! honestly I dont really blame Atiku and his entourage, I blame useful idi**ts in the south who are always ready to play second fiddle because of the crumbs being offered to dem. |
I mean the islamisation of Turkey is really a painful one for the christendom. The conversion of the great orthodox basilica (Hagia sophia) to a mosque by the Erdogan Administration is grossly insensitive. This is a site where thousands of tourists visit every year to have a feel of the byzantine era. The idea of turning the other cheek by the Christians really emboldened these religious Islamic conquerors who never really built anything tangible for themselves but to take over what does not belong them by violence. |
FIRDAUS3:"Islam is the way of life" I beg to differ. Islam is a way of life of your people and not THE way life. Big difference. |
How about you guys stop eating imported poultry or beef since you are worried about how they are killed. (Very simple solution) I mean sensitized your people to grow and eat your own beef and poultry instead of importing them. You guys like trouble. So non moslems and everybody else should eat poultry and beef killed in the name of Allah because you're muslims....first class citizens of the world indeed. Lukgaf: |
RepoMan007:You're missing the point. To begin with, China is a bully in the Indo Pacific region, threatening small islands and annexing same just like Russia. You should understand that these Autocratic tendencies of communist ideology is a threat to freedom which must be contained. I can't imagine a world being led by Russia and China. In addition, it takes just 2 weeks for US to reinforce from the Mainland when push comes to shove. Furthermore, nobody wants war, the current world order must be maintained, I remember when the old Japanese empire was invading China during WW11, It was the same United States that came to the rescue of China by dropping the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs effectively marking the end of WW11, if not, China would have been subservient to Japan by now. |
RepoMan007:If I understand you correctly, you're insinuating that effective military spending gives you results, I agree but I don't want to go back n forth with spending might of countries. So I looked at the important toys these countries possess and believe me, the US dwarfs all these countries in firepower indexes, the US alone has over 70 Nuclear Submarines capable of carrying nuclear warheads scattered in all strategic locations under seas, they have the most strategic and Largest aircraft carriers scattered in continents. Largest Airforce and largest Navy, Millions of troops stationed all across the Globe poised for attack. Fear these guys. |
All bark and no bite. It seems China has been taking advice from Russia, the Russians are deceiving China, trust me on this one America will clap China with dem toys (No contest). But Jokes apart US sees China as its main competitor and this is an opportunity to put the competition behind dem. I don't know why these countries keep underestimating US, those guys spend about a trillion dollars on its defense annually. China should take a chill pill, we love China. |
It seems these terrorists have been gingered by the Ukraine-Russia war. |
Techsupport:I feel u |

The military failed the people of Plateau when they needed them most. They failed them and they failed them totally. Almost 200 souls gone in an orgy of violence and the assailants have all vanished into thin air. And we claim to have an army?
