What is disobedience?

Disobedience is simply failure or refusal to obey rules or someone in authority.
Oxford dictionary

The majority of parents will rather have a completely obedient child than a disobedient one. It's important to note that there are different reasons why a child will deliberately refuse to obey instructions from authority which may be due to the child trying to establish his own importance and opinion, present or past situations witnessed by the child, your expectations versus their reality, their peers and models' behaviors et.c.

Solution

Having an opinion and standing by it is a strong sign that your child can think for himself. Hear him out! Talk to him about the necessity of what you're asking of him and try to look at things from his own perspectives. Good Communication between both the parent and the child is always a strong advantage that the parent can take advantage of. This method will help develop a sense of individuality in that child.
Kids can be wrong a lot of times but they can also be right at other times. Bearing this in mind will help foster cooperation between both parties in the long run. Allow them to make their own mistakes and learn from them under your watch. By this action, you're giving them a voice. Start giving them audience early, understand their perspectives l, make compromises if necessary and watchdog them to help save them from life threatening dangers.
