I can never buy fake tires, I'm an Autoist. Genuineness of a product has nothing to do with price.

My tires are Firestones.

I guess we'll agree to disagree, buyers will make their choice.

and psi should be 35 or 37 max for proper rotation and long lasting, with the help of good alignment

And make sure you buy a summer tire , which is the first picture not winter tire being the second picture

He suggested i changed my radiator from the single cell it came with to double cell that it will prolong the lives pan of my Ac compressor. I just replaced the compressor less than two weeks ago.
How true is this pls?
HIS ADVICE IS TOTALLY UNRECOMMENDED, BECAUSE HE DOES NOT KNOW YOUR CAR WAS PRODUCED TO WITHSTAND EVERY TEMPERATURE ,

USE THE RECOMMENDED COOLANT TYPE OF YOUR CAR AND CHANGE AT RECOMMENDED INTERVALS

the thermostat is still working if not, the fan won't pick. The fan pick based on instructions from the thermostat sensor meaning the thermostat and the sensor are perfectly working
THE THERMOSTAT DOES NOT CONTROL THE FAN AND THE FAN CAN BLOW WITHOUT A THERMOSTAT WHEN THE ENGINE REACH IT OPERATING TEMPERATURE

THE FAN IS CONTROLLED BY THE BRAIN BOX OR ECU THROUGH A FAN THERMOSWICH AFTER THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPORTS TO THE BRAIN BOX OR ECU THAT THE ENGINE HAS REACH IT OPERATING TEMPERATURE

THE THERMOSTAT ONLY RESTRICT COLD COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR FROM FLOWING INTO THE ENGINE COOLANT SECTION, BY
CONTRACTION AND EXPANSION OF THE THERMOSTAT SPRING WHICH IS CONTROLLED BY THE TEMPERATURE OF THE COOLANT IN THE ENGINE BLOCK , AND DON'T HAVE ANY WIRE ON IT 🙂

Good evening house..
all the experts in the house.. Please I need your assistance.. I drive a 2003 Toyota corolla.. I took it to an auto expert to help fix thermostat... And he could not get thermostat at that time but he redid the wiring.. After that. The car has been running without thermostat but fan doesn't come on at start or run continuously.. Fan only run when AC is on or when car reaches normal operating temp of about 200 to 210 then fan picks..car has not over heated so far for over a week... Please is this safe to continue driving?? However.. I noticed this evening that the driver leg side was a little hot after 1hrs plus of driving.. Kindly assist or advice. Should I continue driving or connect back fans or still keep looking for thermostat..i need clarifications please..
Note.. Car was not overheating prior to now..
Gazzuzz.. Kingreign.. Autologic.... And other experts please jump in..
WHEN YOU START YOUR COLD CAR , IT RUNS ON OPEN LOOP OPERATION ( when the fan isn't blowing ) , WHICH MEANS THE BRAIN BOX OR ECU IS NOT MEASURING YOUR FUEL AND AIR FOR PROPER COMBUSTION , THE INJECTOR IS RUNNING MANUALLY ( more fuel ) UNTIL THE ENGINE REACH IT OPERATING TEMPERATURE ABOUT 90 DEGREE CELSIUS ( when the fan blow's ) , THE JOB OF A THERMOSTAT IS TO RESTRICT THE COLD COOLANT FROM FLOWING INTO THE ENGINE TO HELP THE ENGINE REACH IT OPERATING TEMPERATURE QUICKLY

IF YOU ARE NOT RUNNING YOUR CAR LONGER TO REACH IT OPERATING TEMPERATURE OFTEN ( when the fan blow's ) ,👎THEN YOU ARE RUNNING ON CLOSE LOOP OPERATION, WHICH MEANS MORE FUEL AND CARBON IN YOUR CELINDERS , WHICH MAY EFFECT THE RINGS ON THE LONG RUN

WHEN THE CAR REACH IT OPERATING TEMPERATURE (close loops operation or when the fan blow's ) THE BRAIN BOX OR ECU START TELLING THE INJECTOR AND AIR SENSORS TO CALCULATE MINIMAL FUEL AND AIR RATIO FOR RECOMMENDED COMBUSTION, WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW CARBON BUILD UP IN THE CELINDERS

It ok for a regular long trip run, but bad for people that run short trip all the time , because of fuel economy and carbon build up in the CELINDERS

Car Talk / Re: How To Tell If Your Car's Thermostat Is Stuck Closed(will Cause Overheating) by timenamoney: 6:58am On Apr 22, 2023
OkpocacGlobal:
How to Tell if Your Car's Thermostat Is Stuck Closed(will cause overheating)

The thermostat in your car is responsible for controlling the amount of coolant released into your engine. When your car first heats up, the thermostat closes and does not allow coolant into the engine until it is warmed up. The thermostat should open and allow coolant in once the engine is adequately heated. Sometimes the thermostat fails and remains closed.

How to test a thermostat DIY

Step 1. Check your temperature gauge in the car. A stuck thermostat might be to blame if your gauge marker nears the red danger zone within 5 to 15 minutes.

Step 2. Allow engine to cool(never open the preasure cap of a radiator when its hot)

Step 3. Unfasten the radiator drain cock located near the bottom of the radiator and allow some of the coolant to drain out into a container with a lid until the level is below the upper radiator hose.

You might not need to drain the radiator, depending on the amount your reservoir holds. The amount drained is roughly 1 to 2 qt. (4 to 8 cups). You can reuse this coolant if it is brand new. Otherwise, replace it with new coolant.

Step 4. Locate your thermostat. The thermostat housing is usually under the upper radiator hose. Unbolt the housing and remove the thermostat, using a screwdriver and pliers. Take the thermostat inside.

Step 5. Fill a pan with water and place the thermostat into the water until it's completely submerged. Ensure that the part does not touch the bottom of the pan.

Step 6. Start heating the water and place a cooking thermometer into the water. Check the temperature frequently while monitoring the thermostat.

The thermostat should remain closed until about 190 ºF (88 ºC). At this temperature, you should see the thermostat begin to open.
The part should be completely open when the water reaches 195 ºF (90.6 ºC). If the thermostat is still closed at this point, it needs to replaced.

bole hole is not tap water. Besides I couldn’t get distilled water.

what is the boiling point of the bole hole water, is it higher than 100degree Celsius ?

Remember we are not talking about the neatness of the water only , we should also consider the boiling point

Rain water has passed through evaporation just like ac water has pass through heat , but rain is contaminated on it way down to earth , that why distilled water was recommended

If you don't care about the so called contamination , then rain or ac water should be your second option.

A car with a coolant thermostat operate at about 90 something degree , ac and go slow stress make the water evaporate and course shortage even without leaks , unlike clean distilled water that has passed through heat and has a higher boiling point of up to 180 to 200 degree which a car can't reach

I bought abro coolant greenish in cooler and i bought it for 4k. The can one was 4ml and they said its N1200.

I go for the 4 litter abro gallon and my major concern is to avoid rust and liquid shortage here and there. as I bought the radiator newly.

The 4L didn’t fill the radiator so i use bole hole water to complete it.

using distilled water should have been your best option not tap water, because 50% of the coolant you bought may have been distilled water

I don’t even know if its the leak that is causing water shortages.

Or because its water?

Yesterday night scared me when i off the car the fan refuse to of. I on the car to check the temperature it pass the half mark. This has never happened before and while driving i never check it.

After some minutes before the fan short down.
It as last night. I just allow it to cool down and it was this morning that open the radiator the dater was down. I use two pure water to fill it.

It look like i will need a radiator replacement. So many things needs attention but this car own just de shake my head.
use a sealant like blue gum in a tub,on the tip of the host between engine and radiator to avoid leaks

If you want to use water use water with higher boiling point

Make sure you use an engine coolant thermostat

Check the rubber seal at the radiator cap for breaks, may course leak under radiator pressure

Always keep eye's on your your temperature gauge while driving

Don't allow any technician to connect your fan to run continuesly

so which one is the best
my car manufacturer recommended 50% distilled water and 50% undiluted collant, but what we have in 9ja is already mixed coolant, you can buy a pot and weld a 2inch pipe to the cover, boil and recieve the evaporated water as a distilled water.

You don't fill the water radiator, there's a stop point and I do use water from Air condition which does not have some chemical water contains.
the radiator has no limit rather the reservoir has it limit, the ac water also contain impurities that course rust but has a higher boiling point like distilled water recommended for car

Former owner of my car use water. The worst part is the the car short water. Although he told me he top water every two days before I buy it. When I bought it brought out the radiator and notice it has been work severally. I thought there was not need working on it again. Let me just buy new one. But from my inquiries the price is very much at the moment. So I continue using the radiator and toping the water like that.

It's not easy toping water every now and than as one usually forgets. I took the radiator out to be work on. I know that will be the last work that will be done on the radiator before it would be replaced.

The guy assured me it will not leak of he tackles on the leaks.

When he finished I installed the radiator and filled with water. I am still observing if there would be leaks.

I was checking on coolant online but the price nor be here. Considering the leaking my rediator it wouldn't be wise.

If I can buy new radiator it would make more since but not with this one.

But if this radiator doesn't leak for now. Is it wise to use coolant?
use a litre of coolant to fight rust and condensed or distilled water that has higher boiling point , not tap water with low 100degree boiling point which can evaporate coursing shortage for now , buy a new radiator and never put water into your cooling system except coolant for 5years ppractically by me

I didn't understand your reply.

On the first paragraph of your reply: Is that the actual current consumption rate of my car or what it ought be?

On the second paragraph: You mean I should wait for the low fuel signal to show, then refill and monitor till it shows another low fuel sign?

On your last paragraph: There's no check engine light on my dash.
1st is what it ought to be

2nd is procedure to calculate how many distance or miles your car cover with a gallon (4 litres) of fuel to determine your fuel consumption , which is referred as miles per gallon , for example if you buy 20 litres of fuel and your engine consum 4 litres at 26 miles, you should cover 26×5 =130 miles before your 20 litres is used up

I've scanned twice and no error code came up.

My thermostat is functional and radiator on factory settings.

Can the choice of oil used to service impact on fuel consumption rate?
Yes using the recommended engine oil viscosity helps to reduce fuel consumption, because when you use thick 20w50 instead of 5w30 it add stress to the oil pump and lead to fuel consumption
Also note , driving with O/D OFF also effect fuel consumption

Hello house, please I'm I just being paranoid or is my car just consuming too much fuel lately?

I've bought from both Eternal and Energymatic that have good fuel, but consumption rate still seem high. So I decided to monitor the last fuel I got.

192kms was my ODO reading for the 26 liters of fuel I got. All city drive, mostly with AC. Spent little time in traffic during this time.

For an 05 Corolla, please is this a fair return?

Recently, I've had to change my plugs and air filter, service my injector and nozzles.
your Corolla takes 26 miles per gallon for city drive and 36 for high way

Reserve a gallon of fuel in the trunk (bot) when the low fuel warning light comes up, park and refill the gallon into the car then reset and use trip A or B To calculate miles covered when the low fuel light comes up again to determine your fuel consumption, repeat to be sure

If there is a check engine light with out codes ,then the ECU is bad

The reason I asked was traffic volume but it’s no problem since you have earlier stated about the traffic issue.
Can you kindly scan the car and post codes pls?
Also, If your car radiator fan is constantly coming on pls revert back to factory as it may cause the car system not to go to closed loop.
location where the is use has nothing to do with fuel consumption,

The car radiator fan has nothing to do with close loop rather it will consum more fuel for running constantly

The thermostat is what helps the engine reach close loop quickly by restricting coolant flow , the temperature sensor signal ECU when engine reach it operating temperature to operate the injectors in close loop with the help of the o2 sensor , even when the fan is running constantly

After rebuilding it , make sure a good break-in procedure is carried out with the recommended engine oil viscosity , and you have to drive with a low speed for some time or kilometers to rebalance the rings to the cylinders .

Recently I have been having low rpm. the rpm stays around 200 to 300 at start up while on P" when I put it into D" the rpm sometimes move to 600 on 700 or little below 1000 or the engine off. And when the engine off with the low rpm of 200 or so. I would have to revv high like 3 or 4 times before the rpm normalise at 600 on 700.
Also, sometimes after driving for a while, and I put the vehicle into P or N, the rpm will move to 2000, and stayed for some seconds or min before dropping to 600.
The throttle body and MAF Have been cleaned yet these problems persist.
For RX300 2001
No check engine light.
Thanks a bunch
