This is how SI chose to reflect Covid in FM22’s gameplay. Once more, FM 2022 will attempt to strike the best possible balance between realism and escapism

Miles Jacobson - Sports Interactive studio director - posted an official FM22 development update, which provides insight on what we can expect from Football Manager 2022 in terms of covid implications.

Covid continues to cause issues in the world of football. The virus is still hitting players, making them unavailable to play and isolation is still a factor in some territories. Crowds are back in most leagues, but we’re still far from capacity.

As far as escapism is concerned:
Covid will NOT be in the game.
Players will not miss matches because of Covid
Players will not need to isolate when returning from holiday.
Health officials will NOT come onto the pitch to call off friendlies because some players haven’t followed the local isolation rules.
Crowds will fill stadiums to pre-pandemic levels.
Handshakes are still there too, as the community voted for last year.

Now for the realism side of things:
Made further changes to an already flexible transfer system to try and make that area as accurate as possible.
Many more clubs than normal will start the game with much smaller budgets available.
With decimated finances, some clubs will have to try and sell players, while others will struggle to reduce their squad sizes and wage bills.


In a nutshell:
While the pandemic may not be going away any time soon, in FM22 it’s as over as it can be. Just don’t expect big transfer budgets year one.

We tried not to include players who appear on our famous list of wonderkids for FM21 in an effort to find some fresh starlets who are still relatively unknown.

Key Additions

All we can deduce from the official press release is that FM22 "will give you new ways to earn success for your club".

We imagine this could be around growing a club's fan base, as this has been difficult to do in the past.

The trailer references a lot of firsts - like Union Berlin's best ever Bundesliga finish - so perhaps these kinds of targets will come into the game.

FM 2022 New Gameplay Features
New Game Mode: Versus
While the details of this game mode remain unknown, the following text is shown; “Exclusively for FMFC members. Join now and find out more >”.
Nothing has been posted yet on FMFC.

New Area: Data Hub
There is now a centralized hub area which will be displayed as a tab on the left side of your screen. In there you will find reports labelled as “Key Findings” which will inform you on your club’s data.
Some of these reports are; “Overall Match Momentum”, “Last Match Passes”, “Last Match XG Performance”. Sub comments are given to each report title. When clicked on, a pop up displaying a detailed graphic is shown.

New player role: Wide Centre-Back
New role in the Central Defensive positions. Instructions for this role are; “Stay Wider”. Description is as follows;
The main job of the Wide Centre-Back is to stop the opposing attackers from playing and to clear the ball from danger when required. However, unlike standard central defenders, the Wide Centre-Back is encouraged to stay wide in possession and support the midfield more like a fullback.
This new role also has the sub-roles of “Defend”, “Support” and “Attack” (it is assumed that Automatic may also apply).

Recruitment Department
Looks like the scouting department may be replaced with a new/revamped “Recruitment” department.
It still seems that there are four main areas of your staff; Coaching, Recruitment, Development & Staffing.

3D Match improvements
We're able to see more clearly wheel-chair and infirm spots now in the stadium on display within the video.

More customizable manager avatar
Eyebrows are now editable for your in-game character, among other options.

Actually it was on tuesday 17th my nin got ready, so from wednesday which its 18th the process starts then i was told on the 26th yesterday that my passport was ready, so shocking i swear people wait months for this stuff o, i did two corrections on my nin and passport thats correction of year of birth, then removing of one name from my three names all went successfully and fast, like what they normally say "let your nin drop it will be fast" i still dont know what that mean till now, all what i know my passport came out fast than expected also i spent less than expected, at fast a woman charge me 300k to make this correction why nin i was charge 60k thats 360k in total, so i just gathered my self and went to abuja, a friend gave me a contact there end of the day both my nin and passport i spent 165k in total, aside my transport and feeding in abuja sha, buh i did both capture same day at the immigration building there.
