My inverter is 900v luminous ecovolt
Battery is 200ah mercury
Charge controller is 60a pwm
Solar panel is four 150 watts chinko panels(total =600)

Haven said that. Let me give a little background to help you form opinion. This month makes it one year ive been completely off grid due to faulty transformer in my area. It also coincides with when I got the new battery. I have used generator a few times to power fridge and also for washing machine. Other than those periods, I have solely relied on solar to charge my battery.
I used gen for fridge because inverter capacity cannot carry my fridge, and I used it for washing machine until I realised that Ivan use the machine at midday when sun is full( this I have been doing for months now.
My load is basically 32 inch flat screen TV and dstv decoder. 5 watts bulbs in rooms when I need them. Once in a while blender, and DC standing fans of 40 watts each(has its own rechargeable battery). And phones charging. I have always have 24/7 light with this setup except on few occasions when the inverter trips off. Whenever I am to use washing machine, I ensure we don't watch TV that day until late afternoon when we are done with washing or wait till the next day, else TV is usually on from 3:00pm till 10:00pm.
And in this lockdown TV is on from 8:00am till about 10:00pm daily. Even yesterday we washed and still watched TV from 2:00pm till 9:00pm.
That basically has been my schedule for one year now. I plan on adding two more panels though.
Thank you so very much for your time and explanations, I intend getting a 3.5kva inverter(for future purposes just in case I decide to add more batteries and include inverter AC) and two 210ah battery. For now my major appliances will be just inverter LG fridge of about 120 watts and TV of about 100 watts and maybe washing machine occasionally, then two standing fans(not sure of the wattage of the fans), and about 30 watts total bulb. I guess this should serve me well, I hope so.... Also how much did you get the solar panels for? I'm thinking of starting with just the inverters and battery first then later I can include the solar so as to reduce cost

How about his load? Are his appliances energy efficient? eg. He may not be told by his installer to switch to energy efficient appliances. I remember someone talking about a customer not willing to do away with a 600watts TV. Why use 100 watts light bulb when 5 watts will serve same purpose. Implication is I will use the energy of your one 100 watts bulb to light 20 rooms at 5 watts. Dig?

And for those shouting lithium lithium, I forbid you to mention that name on this platform again until I save enough to buy it. Stop intimidating me else I will send the anti spam not after you or invoke village spirits to block sun from shinning on your panels. Lol
Enjoy, my eyes are on you. Meself go join you later than sooner. 350k no be small money, I never recover from lead acid.
How's your lead acid battery serving you so far? I intend joining the Inverter crew soon, just gathering up the funds and knowledge... What's your battery capacity and how long does it last on backup? Kindly advise... I will be having a total load of almost 500 watts in total but not up to. I intend getting two 210 ah acid battery that can be topped up with distilled water and the guy said one goes for 120k per battery, how many hours will that likely serve me?. Any advise for me or recommendation? Any one else with knowledge about this can also help out too please

Dear House,

I’m looking to buying an inverter (2.5kva). I want advice on the best brand in the market currently that will serve me very well without any problem.

I also want advise on the best deep cycle battery that will be very rugged and durable.

I’ve never used an inverter before so I’ll need your practical experiences as this will go a long way in helping me make a choice.

Thank you.

As long as the BVN is the same you won't pay stamp duty.

Yes, except when the credit is less than #10k or when you send money from one of your account to another. You pay #50 naira stamp duty for every credit that is up to #10k or more.
Please I would like to clarify... When you say send money from one of my account to another... Assuming I have Access bank and Union Bank, if I'm to send #10,000 or more from my Union to Access, does it mean the stamp duty won't be deducted? Or your words mean two accounts within same bank. Thanks

Just spoke with my ACC MGR and she said the interest is not visible but it's accruing at the bank end. Just as much as I understand not to liquidate before the target period, then I should get it all at the end of the end

Malapropism
Fair enough, would have been nice if you know your interest you'll be getting though. It's for a year, right?

Hello house. Can someo knowledgeable explain this?

I've been doing target savings with gtb and this is the 3rd month with zero interest. I've also read here people say target savings is more better than t bills for now cos of their interest.

Does it appear gtb don't issue interests on t. Savings or what?
do you withdraw from the account? I think that's the reason why. Most savings account have clause of not more than three withdrawals for a month

Please I'll like to ask if my 3300 watts generator can charge a 3.5kva inverter. I was told that for an inverter to be charged then the generator needs to be times 2 of the inverter in terms of kva, I don't know how true that is and I intend getting a 3.5kva inverter because of my AC... Kindly advise please

Someone please answer

I'll not advise you to loosen the screw cos after I did I was getting hard start but it stopped immediately I changed back to default settings.

Are you okay? I was given that rate by the two marketing officers I met in the bank. I was surprised myself so I had to go with the target savings so don't confront me, go to the bank to confront them. Generally, fixed deposit rates are not encouraging unless there are new changes. Let's be guided, please.
Good Morning, please can you give more details about the Target savings for UBA, like the interest, tenure, amount limit, conditions if any or any important details about it? I'm looking at where to lay my egg early April... Thanks

But be aware that 4000e2 is 2.5 kva, but since u are using inverter AC is cool and ok
Please what about FPG 4800 E2? It's written 3000 rated watts and 3300 surge watts with 7.0HP... are the figures true? And what is the KVA?
PoliticsRe: TCN Explains Electricity Shortage Nationwide by tipzy001: 12:24am On Mar 13, 2020
matify83:
Most technicians are just pedestrian with their advice.

A higher powered inverter only implies that a larger load can be drawn from it without necessarily wasting your battery charge.

The only downside with a higher KVA inverter is that you may need a larger default battery Bank.

It must however be noted that the efficiency of most common inverters are about 80 percent of their rated capacity but this applies to both lower and higher KVA inverters.

Disregard that advice Asap.

A 3.5kva inverter at 24v default battery Bank would serve you good but for an extended battery time I would suggest you get 4 pieces of battery connected in series and parallel to still get 24v but a larger amperage for extended backup.
Thank you for taking out time to answer my question and the advice. I appreciate Sir

it depends on how lucky you are to be able to get the original. I have been using that same gen for 2 years 6 months and no fault developed at all, still very sound and strong and I use it almost every day
PoliticsRe: TCN Explains Electricity Shortage Nationwide by tipzy001: 6:11pm On Mar 12, 2020
matify83:
Your 1.5hp inverter AC is approximately 1.1kw of load.

Because you would be running other electric gadgets simultaneously, I would suggest a 2.5 KVA inverter which may still utilize 24v batteries I. e. 2 pieces of 200Ah batteries.

However, for longer backup, I suggest 4 pieces of the same batteries hooked up in a string of 2 series and then paralleled.

The technical aspect of your plan is calculating the number of solar panels to run the AC effortlessly during the day without depleting your battery Bank.
Thank you very much for this sir. Someone told me that the inverter itself consumes battery, that is the higher the kva of the inverter, the higher it will consume battery on its own, is that true? Because I'm considering just going for a 3.5kva inverter to power everything so there won't be need for me to upgrade the inverter in the future so I want to know if the 3.5kva is going to be consuming more power than the 2.5kva... thanks

By 6pm on most days I have generated between 4.7 to 5.2 kwh/d with 4 fully charged batteries (on float mode by 12:30pm) to carry me for the next 12 hours.

I only switch off the AC at 11pm but run all fans (4 pieces of 50w binatone standing fans) till day break (tdb)

I bought the setup piece meal.

Started by buying the inverter and 4 batteries .

Then visited Arena shopping complex in Lagos when I traveled for a workshop there I saw some 2nd hand imported solar panels from America. 250w 30v each and I waybilled 8 pieces at 40k each back to my state via God is good transport company.

I did over 60 percent of the installation so the cost was minimal .
Please what's the kva of your inverter you use in powering the AC? I have a 1.5hp inverter ac, what inverter size should I get?
