Good day all. Just came to say that my husband and I received my approved visa today using the details in my post below tandem.

We did biometrics on the 13th and got the emails this afternoon.

Thanks to all who helped and happy to answer questions to the best of my knowledge.

He is my sponsor and has provided me a letter of sponsorship with bank statements of over $45k, while I have provided mine with NGN10m and $2.5k We have also provided our marriage certificate even though we don’t bear the same name. We also both have introduction letters from our employers.

Full docs provided by both of us; Letters of intent, Bank statements, marriage certificate, itinerary for flight, hotel booking, LOIs from employers with CAC docs.

Please is this sufficient? Our reason for travel is vacation for 10 days. Thank you.

Declaring such finances translates that you ought to have assets, property, investments etc in your names.
Add those.
Any kids, add those
Marriage certificate is not proof of genuine and subsisting relationship. Add proofs like bank transfers between yourselves, shared utility bills, pictures at different stages of life, children shared, communication etc
Add a cover letter and explain thoroughly also highlighting a travel itinerary. Genuine visitors are expected to know about their trip and more.
Also hopefully your bank statement especially you the first timer is convincing enough as all applicants are expected in their own right to qualify for the visa irrespective of sponsorship.
Fill the form correctly as that’s where the main issues lie.

My husband has lands but in his name only. We both have cars and in our individual names, I don’t know if that counts?? In my husband’s statements there’s a lot of records of him sending my varying amounts of money consistently and they reflect in my statement as well. We have both written very explanatory letters for the trip and our relationship and filled he forms well. We have no kids.

For my bank statements, I like to believe it’s okay. I filled in GBP 6000 as what I have saved but I have more which I have shown in the statements.

What more else could we possible add? We will add some pictures of us together.

So sorry to hear this. You should reapply rather than appealing, as appeals are mere formalities - they are never attended to.

When you reapply, check if you can personally confirm the hotel reservation from their website - you should then give a step by step guide in your introduction letter to whoever will treat your next application how to confirm the booking.

Like @hunee has stated, eVisas are now a gamble. All the best.

Thank you so much boss. We plan to do the physical application at VFS instead, this time. I have also asked the hotel to send us a letter-headed letter, addressed to the consulate which is also signed and stamped. After now, if it doesn't work out, we will forget them.

Unfortunately, we just got notification of our visa declined status, reason being that they could not confirm our accommodation.

We booked at Radission Blu Cape Town of which we attached the booking and direct email confirmation from the reservations manager. We have written the hotel and they said that they are not sure what could have gone wrong as our booking is confirmed in their records and they’re willing to provide additional support.

We want to appeal this as it’s really baseless. Please what do you think @africankel and others. Thank you.

Thanks to everyone for your support, especially @Africankel. My husband and I submitted our e-visa applications on Saturday very seamlessly. Now waiting for their verdict then I will update here.

Good morning all. I want to apply for e-visa and based on the website, these are the requirements listed for e-visa:

For Adult:
Valid passport Bio Page which expires in no less than 30 days after expiry of the intended date of departure from the Republic
A valid return air flight ticket or proof of reservation thereof.
Proof of sufficient financial means Recent bank certified statement, for the last three months
Statement, invitation letter or documentation detailing the purpose and duration of the visit
Proof of the residential address and contact details of the intended place of stay within the Republic, and/proof of the business, residential or physical address of the host in the Republic.

Please for those who have done e-visa, could you kindly confirm that these were all you needed to upload/apply. The document requirements for sticker visa is a bit more and I just want to be 100% sure that they won't end up requesting the sticker visa docs before initiating the process. Also, the letter stating our visit purpose, should it be handwritten or typed? I'd appreciate if someone can share a sample, please.

You can add all account statements. Make sure they all cover a three months period, signed and stamped at a bank branch.

Thanks a lot. My husband is sponsoring the trip but I have a USD account with about $1k in it. Can I combine that with my Naira salary account and my husband's account for proof of funds? Also, is there limit to the number of proof of funds documents one can submit?

Please apart from it being cheaper, are there other advantages of E-visa over the regular VFS/sticker tourist visas.

Advantages could be speed of clearing immigration etc.

Good day. please I need help.

I am applying for study visa and I used Momentum as suggested. while registering, I didn't realise that I made a mistake in my passport number until they sent me the confirmation and I needed to download the document to print for submission. My passport number didn't work, so I started doing trial by error until it worked and I realised that I has missed a number in my passport number during registration.

What is the best line of action for me at this point, should I submit like that then write to momentum about this error because I can't afford to book another submission appointment. Urgent help needed please.

I just got this notification below from Vfs … does it mean my visa was granted.

Your visa application reference number: *** has been received at the South Africa visa Application center in Lagos from the south Africa consulate Lagos and is ready for collection.

Please when you submitted, did you go exactly at your appointment time to VFS? How was the crowd as well?

I finally received my passport on Friday. I did 100% DIY at Ikoyi passport office. The only 5k I paid was to collect fast on the day I went for pick up cos the crowd was so much!

I paid on the 7th of June this year and captured 22nd August. My passport was ready on 1st October but I picked up on 8th December.

From the very first day I registered, if I try to track it tells me application not found: I thought it will change after I capture but it didn’t change and I was able to capture easily without any issue. How do I track my application now? I’ll be grateful for any assistance. I captured August 22 at Ikoyi for renewal.

i paid online and printed the payment receipt, application form, copy of expired passport and NIN. you'll also need to write a letter requesting for renewal too.

Captured in July 7th. renewal. no passport till date. I hope I don't lose my job because my sponsors have been waiting on me for nearly a month.

Secondly, I have not captured yet but anytime I try to track my application with my Application Reference ID and Application ID it says application not found. Is it because I’ve not captured? Thanks in anticipation.
