I think d iud is actually d best(though some of my frendz wey dey use am,talk say dia husbandz dey feel d rope and som of d men no lik am),it was wat I actualy planned on using from d begining,only that my doc discouraged me cos I recently had a cs,so d solution for me now is that I'll wait for bout 2mnths(enuf time for d wound to heal) to insert d iud,befor d 2mnths reach,na to find spermicide buy na,belle musnt enter now o

Bludeville: For family planning, I'm personally comfortable with the hormonal methods but for those who are not, there are other non- hormonal methods ( i.e non drug,pills or implants) . I found this site that contains info about those methods that do not involve hormones or drugs. Maybe you might find something you're more comfy with.

@marygold,iv heard bout dt leaf,did a lot of research on it wen I was looking for natural ways to induce labor,wat I gleaned is dt u av to be careful using it,esp if ure almost due cos it cud mke the baby come,same with castor oil,bottomline I think its safer to use it when ure due. You also need to check with ur doctor that u don't av a condition lik placenta previa,narrow cervix(or anythn that wud nid u to av a cs)cos it cud be disastrous trying to force ur baby out d natural way if ur body isn't going to cooperate

dBard: please, I dont subscribe t 'hitting' d baby. if u must, gentle sustained pressure at dat spot will do d trick.
@beauty..wat u possibly have is a fibroid degeneration, confirm wit a scan, and it Is wat it sounds like..d fibroid is degenerating hence d pain n all that. contact by d baby at dat spot too might worsen d pain. mild analgesics.. pcm do help as well as some other measures but u will ve t bear wit it till u deliver.
If it gets really bad u mite need b admitted f antibiotic n analgesics n bed rest n monitoring.

My sis,I gave d advise I did cos it workd for me,I went thru dt awful pain and no amount of analgesics or bedrest did me any good,til God sent dt wonderful nurse my way who gave me d "old wives method",of course no reasonabl mom is going to start punching herself in d stomak,and in case there are any,ul see from my oda posts wher I specifically said gentle tapping is all u nid,just enuf to encourage ur baby change direction,we really shudnt knock these so called old wives tales,cos a closer look will show u that what these tales contain is just pure common sense

Tis well beauty,and don't worry bout injuring d baby,tapping ur belly won't cause d baby any harm,once u feel that youngman going in dt direction,spank his bombom sharply ,dt pain no be beans,I remember my time,once d baby starts goin in dt direction,I wud just tilt my belly in d opp diirection and start hitting,I can be ther hittin for lik 15mins, iv also heard that coldwater helps,incase he goes ther again drink a glass of coldwater,it cud encourage d baby to change positions

@itsmelex abeg free d pikin,he don loose interest,same thing happened wth my 1st kid,he rejected breasttmilk at 4mnths,I jejely left him,cos I had alredy planned dt I wud wean him at 3mnths sef(na my mumsy hold me till d 4mnths sef),all dose plenty talk bout breastfeedinn d pikin for lik 9mnths no dey enter my ear,cos d argument dt kids are brainier and all dat wen thyr xclusivl breastfed dosnt convince me,all dose oyinbo pikin wey dem no dey even breastfeed nko,and they end up being very sharp and creative,compare and contrast to most naija pikins dt they even breastfeed til 2yrs sef(wey d pikin go dey lift himm mama blouse hiself),I just believe dt if ur kid is naturally intelligent and u giv him d best education u can,thhen that child will do well,irresppectiv of whether or not he was breastfed

Now this is just my opinion,I'm not critisizing mums who r exclusively breastfeedin o,u guys rock,it can't be easy doin that for 6mnths and den continuing to 9-12mnths

@corrall,I really think I nid to deworm my son,cos hez started rejectin food,even down to cereal,and hez always spittin lik hez nauseated,hez 1+ and iv neva dewormed him,went to d clinic bout a month ago to complain and my doc said I shud wait til hez 2yrs,but I'm beginin to think he said that cos his clinic dosnt av a worm expeller for kids his age,cos if u dewormed ur baby at 8mnths,then my son shud be able to take it wtht any ill effect,abeg dt liquid combantrin,is it only for babies or can a 20mnth baby tak it too,pls help me check d agerange on d pack

@bsoda,why wud u want to induce labor,its somthing that shud be done only on docs advise,its a painful process,cos hormones that normally wud be present to mke d pain bearable,wen ure avin a normal labour aren't present,and in naija,95% of hospitals stil don't give epidural(pain relievers),but to me,its stil better than cs,cos d recovery time is faster

@beauty pele dear,d lord is ur strength,had d same pain with my 1st baby,mine was so bad that I wudnt be able move,I'd just be hunched over for days,I'd go to d clinic and get given injections to alleviate d pain,I was admitted on 2seperate occasions,but after a whil it wud com bak,d doctors told me ther was nothin they cud do,cos it seemed d babyz positionin was d one causin d pain and dt I shud talk to d baby to move,and dt babyz hear wen u speak(yea rite,I stil dnt blv that hippie stuff),anyway I found a solution that worked for me:
Apparently I had fibroid,and smtmes wen d baby moves in a certain direction,it wud mke d pain worse,so a nurse told me that once I feel d baby goin in dt direction,I shud start hitting my belly to discourage d baby goin there,and I must tell u,d thing worked lik a charm ,and again don't sit in cramped spaces,lik wen u sit at ur table at work,mke sure to stretch ur legs under it,hope this mthds work for u lik they did for me,cos I kno ow excruciating that pain can be

@ope u can resume sex as soon as u feel strong enuf,though its usually better u wait till the discharge stops,if u had an episiotomy or cs,u cud wait at least 6wks,so dt ul be sure d areas are healed,and for those who had an episiotomy,therz always d fear that the stiches cudd come undone hehehe,fear not that won't happen,just make sure u get lubrication( vaseline etc,cos ul be dry down ther for a while)and for d those wth d cs,I thnk its better u try ppositions werr hubby won't be ontop,to giv ur inner stiches plenty time to heal wtht weight being put on it
