Sadly, we are never going to learn. We wont think before we vote in 2015. |
Under normal condition we shouldnt just leave those people there and allow them share all our money and we are just pointing at one man. One man cant save us! We need to fight for justice. i.e. everyone that is a part of this should be make an account. |

bay77:That is just the case, so how can we correct a collective wrong doing? That is what we should focus on and not a mane name Bankole. There are many cases like this under the cover. |
For as long as there is no law against what he did, it is only a matter of morality. That is what I think, but pardon me of my ignorance of the details of our law. And what about the fact that the president saw it before signing it into budget? He looked away, was that immoral or criminal? if he possibly dint know that it will be funded by loan, cant he inquire how they plan to fund it? or he is just there to sign anything that comes across his table, if that is the case, then how is he in anyway different from the accused? |
So basically he did what was harmful to public funds to save his self interest and that makes him not culpable?I actually like that, moral culpability, and sadly I am not sure very many Nigerians will pass that. I agree. But most likely the constitution would be written by our top lawyers and would involve a lot of copy and paste from the West with a few tweeking.I will be glad to see where that is in our own version of the law and that will set me free! |
I don't think it is likely that is how it is. I would be surprised. Surely there is something in the constitution to stop such except it is written by mooorons. What else can we call those folks up there? |
Actually, the loan allegations got into the news on May 11, 2011. The President signed the2011 budget into law along with the increased allowances on May 27, 2011. Hence, even the President is complicit in the approval of the increase in allowances even after the allegation had become public knowledge.Ok, that is sad. I wonder how many more of such careless activities are going on, EFCC should go after the president, too, for accomplice and cospiracy to enrich people who least deserve it. But that is not possible, right? |
1. How I escaped N2.4bn car scandal – BankoleI think I need education before I crucify Bankole, but if that article was re-election propaganda then good for him he still lost. |
violent:Hence the case against Bankole will now rest. The whole world for now knows that the president is tough on corruption contrary to Obasanjo's claims. LOL. |
Mozzhann:Please this matters to every Nigerian. There is not point having EFCC and all anti-corruption nonsense as it is right now if basic structure of checks and balances dont exist, in the absense of such, everything becomes normal and no one can be punished for "percieved abnormality", I guess this works fine for 99.99% of Nigerians. |
ekt_bear:Even if he wasnt, what can you do in the mist of 100% thieves. Note the 100%! |
Getting good people into that house or into any political office in Nigeria will be tasking, it may not be happening in the next 50 years. Take a look at the schemes for 2015 already, we are not ready for a change or any transformation. |
Of all of them Bankole seem (cant vouch for a Nigerian politician, but this was a general opinion when he took office) to be the only responsible personality that fits that chamber. If it was contrary, he would have gone the way of his predecessors, Etteh and co. |
maybe we should start getting ready for them to arrest Babatunde Fashola. After all, he can't claim to be totally cleanPlus, he is a Yoruba man. |
Sometime soon people will start coming here to discus issues that are really critical. Like the flood that is taking over the land from us in Lagos, the Lagos/Ibadan Express way, suicide bombings, power supply for small scale enterprises etc. This Bankole whatever to me is some kind of distraction. Can we just pause for a minute or so? Check any of our leaders pocket and you will find billions. So? We need to fight corruption but please, not with corruption and not with corrupt people in all of our public offices. I think the first thing Jonathan should do to take Nigerians to the promise land, if he cares, is to hand off EFCC and allow someone that is firm, fairless and in-corruptible to take control - I will suggest Buhari or Jega. Is someone hearing me, please? I dont think so. #sad |
jonathan is simply clueless. . .shiorThat is exactly what I think when he was reacting to the "suicide" bombing at police headquarters. |
As in a fellow at such level of civilization cant come up with an intelligent opinion. Hope you understand what I mean now. |
Whatever your opinion is makes no sense because qualifying him as "Yoruba" thief is uncivilized. Sorry about that. |
@philip0906 and @lucenzo, I think it will be decent if you apologized. |
"Yoruba" Please think before you post. I have been seeing stuff like this on this website for a while, and I think that as a site rule, tribal abuse should be condemned. Or else, this is incubating something more ridiculous. |
I guess something is seriously wrong somewhere. Only God can deliver this dear country of ours. With all the clamor for a country free corruptions, we still want to give people who are supposed to be in EFCC net (in a normal situation) a chance to even steal even more. This must be happening in a dream! Are there no fresh in-corruptible minds out there? No wonder Obasanjo said that his predecessors failed on corruption. Anti-corruption war is more than just noise. |
I think we need this to happen like yesterday, at least we will be rest assured that efcc is no longer a tool for victimization, hopefully. |
Hopefully someday, we will get rid of the menace (corruption of all kinds) from our mist and then, can, move forward. |
That is true, but I dont know why I feel that corruption cant cure corruption. Like it is being proposed, it will be nice to have someone like Buhari on to of all anti corruption agencies such that EFCC, ICPC and any other one that is available can report to him. |
A very interesting piece of an article. Thanks for sharing this, as much I have not posted on Nairaland for a while, I think this article is worthy of commendation. |
PHP Freedom Framework is Nigeria's premier free and open source web development framework(http://code.google.com/p/phpfreedom); Up to version 2.0, you have to download the framework and use it for each website or application you desire to build. But the project has graduated from an application development framework to a platform development and application delivery framework. The new version, which actually is a branch of the framework is called ReinSys Platform Framework. With this technology, you can setup a platform in less than 30 minutes and on your platform you can create unlimited web apps/site/portals. Setting up a website on a ReinSys powered platform takes less than 1 minute. Features includes: Multiple Sites Intuitive Content Management System Flexible Theme Designer Banner Animation Utility Central Content Server Content Aggregation Mechanism Social Networking Integration (Facebook, Twitter) Live Chat Support, from E-Support Systems (by the same developer) News Feeds Photos Gallery Builder Page Caching And many more, plus many more in the labs. There has been many implementations of the framework, an example the the ReinSys Web-Box Platform. http://box.reinsys.com. On this platform you can create a website for yourself right away and it is free. Well, most of the sites running on the platform are for demo purposes for now. And it is amazing what some people who have no idea of web development have done using web-box. E.g. http://box.reinsys.com/funtop2010 is a wedding site created by a friend a day to his wedding. http://www.dominiongenerators.com and http://www.reinsys.com are all running on the web-box platform. I will be glad if you also tried it out and let us know how we can make it better. You can also join the ReinSys group on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/?sk=group_149098141805867&ap=1 Thank you. Hi. Yes. The documentation is also available for download at http://code.google.com/p/phpfreedom/downloads/list. Though it is still skeletal, and help is really needed in the documentation part. |
Thanks. All known issues have been fixed. I appreciate everyone that took part in the test exercise at the project test site: http://www.phpfreedom.org/test You can just go there and see what it looks like installing the framework, but tests have been suspended. |
Finally, the 2.0 version of PHP Freedom Framework has been released. For those who have used it, it is simply about "Developing applications with fun". A skeletal documentation has now been provided to get developers started quickly. New features: • Modular Structure • Enhanced Security • Multiple Themes/Designs - One Application • Distributed Databases • Data Modeling • Basic AJAX Features - If you have been thinking of comfortably building sites that dont reload, P2F is for you! • Widgets and Plug-in System Plus many more. Download: http://code.google.com/p/phpfreedom |
@DHTML Just checked your website, and I can see that you really love JavaScript. I do, too. Just as you said, I will leave the various options for people to enhance the work with various tools of their choices. That is the main idea behind using the widgets concept. A lot of Javascript will be required. But the important thing is to get the structure right, and then we can build anything on top. I think that the new structure is very flexible and extensible. Just to put a few things in place, for now. If you are chanced you could login as administrator with: username: freedomtest password: freedomtest http://www.phpfreedom.org/test Please let me know, promptly, if anything go wrong. Thanks. |
