PoliticsRe: Edo State Cancels Teachers Competence Test. by Tobbie9(m): 1:24pm On Jul 04, 2014
la furia: Agreed, he shouldn't have canceled it but do you blame him? You saw what happened in ekiti, Fayemi insisted on the competency test but they voted him out. Most Nigerians are only interested in short term goals even if leads to a terrible long term effect. The reason people vote for who in Nigeria is very very trivial, to some oh he distributed milo during Ramadan, oh he distributed fowl during Xmas, it really disheartening.

I read fashola article on the ekiti elections and he was perplexed at the ekiti people.

We are so underdeveloped that any long term goal is a no no.

If you intend to fight corruption in ground level starting from the local government, they people will hate, the prefer they should be left while you concrete on some aimless project like building mall, roads etc don't just touch the daily bread.
I want a better now Nigerians are not ready.

I'm just tired of Nigerian people. For now governors can do whatever they like. Can't you see even osun governor is reverting some of his policy. Smh

Sigh!
It's called d politics of poverty my brother, pdp and even apc to an extent thrive on such mode of politics

vicenzo: Residents should start earning lower than Nurses,Pharmacists and scientists in the hospital?

Now i know these JOHESU people have lost it. Haha!
He's actually right residents earn less than nurses and pharmacists but when they become consultants they earn way more than nurses and pharmacists. i personally don't mind d idea pay me less than other health workers in fact use me as a slave but give me the necessary training in my specialty such that in 5-8 years i become a consultant then start paying me huge wages way higher than the rest, the problem with this is hypocrites like the guy you quoted will start saying why should a new consultant earn more than other health workers that have been working longer than him/her and the cycle starts all over again

The surgeon deals with blood, body fluids, needle prick injury etc while the pharmacist or physiotherapist sees none of these!
So NMA put B and C(B is important tho) just to crave the sympathy of Nigerians. When 'A' is actually what they're crying about. So if govt cancels the skipping 4 JOHESU, the doctors abroad wee come back home?? Option B is a more worthy cause to fight for, that which all health professionals must fight for TOGETHER.

Pls MBBS graduates, put on ur thinking cap and get back to us. A stitch in time, can still save nine.
I always knew OOU is a terrible school, don't bother to quote me we'll see what happens next year

HealthRe: Expect Total Strike From Jan 6, Doctors Warn by Tobbie9(m): 12:30am On Dec 24, 2013
Mrs awesome u seem like a logical person which is rare on nl nowadays, u said doctors no longer find pc residencies lucrative and satisfying which is d truth, most doctors find it boring and kinda routine including nigerian doctors, the problem with d nigerian situation is that d government isnt funding residency training enough or could u pls tell me when last d government built a hospital with capacity to train resident doctors unlike in the us and other developed nations where they are constantly expanding there medical capabilities to meet with the increasing population to the extent that they accomodate foreign trained doctors, so my dear sister or mother comparing america to nigeria in terms of healthcare is like comparing sleep with death.

as for NMA, JOHESU and co i really dont care since its no more than a battle of self preservation and i don't plan on practicing in nigeria upon graduation, i only find the banter entertaining grin

thepathologist: office of surgeon-general is now a reality. u want us model of health care but u do not want surgeon-general. are u an hypocrite?
for info chews have standing order or treatment protocol. they do not like using it. many of them now use doctors prescription for similar condition.
mbbs doctors doing jack of all trade is bad. that is why nma is saying residency training needs more attention and fund. there are more than 50 specialties in medicine.
anyway, nma is winning gradually.
well said bro, i took time out to do some research on us and others and found out that most of there doctors are consultants causing a dearth of doctors in primary healthcare which is why even the doctors themselves are pushing nurses and co to be more independent so they can focus on their specialties once residency training is properly done in nigeria the chews/nurses/whatever can have primary healthcare to themselves
