mindtricks: Bros, if you by any chance take the pain to read through the 1st 5 - 10 pages of this thread, (especially as you have so much to put in) you will most likely have only few or no questions to ask, and will be in better position to make more informed decisions. 5-10pages?? Cool!thanks,better than reading 300+ pages |

TONY56: In your own interests, you better go through from page 1 to the end so that you don't keep asking same questions that have been answered severally and at the end of the day, you will be glad you did.
Don't get scared at all, it's something you can finish in less than one week IF you are determined. Just target at least 50 pages a day as if you're reading a novel and at the end of the day you won't ask a single question again on the forum while you find yourself making contributions and enlightening others.
Try it and thank me later cause you can do it hmmmm ok thanks,will do that tomorrow |

Fm4real06: Lol.. d lady don play u fast wayo.. she will receive a commission on that fixed deposit she opened for you. Bankers know customers who are naive and they would do anything juat for them to convince you.
Trasury bills are available everyday just that u may not prefer the available rates or tenor. Go bank to the bank, meet another staff in charge of Tb, ask her u want to know the available rates and tenors in the secondary market. Once you say this, they know you know what you are saying. After they have told you and u are satisfied with anyone, just liquidate ur fixed deposit instantly and invest in Tbills. I dont think there are significant penal charges in liquidating fixed deposit.
But n4 u invest in tbills, be very sure that you wont be needing ur principal till maturity date bcause of d penal charges. I hope i tried small! thanks boss no you did not try small,this is try big |

elpiro: maximum 30billion for the account.lol primary market--91 days minimum secondary market--subject to availability.
50 million gives you the right to decide your rate. ok thanks,someone on here said 1m is the maximum so i was wondering...please can someone on here show us how they calculate this things ?when I fixed 8.2m for 60 days and they told me 7.00% what I calculated was different from what i was given |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by tobe4real(m): 2:40pm On Aug 03, 2017 |
MOM1: The minimum is 100k.. I will advise you split the fund for the TB and do different tenors because the amount you have right now is a lot. I am in the same dilemma right now. I split the fund and did different days though it primary market. I got the notification that one was successful and am still waiting on my relationship manager about the other one. This was done in First Bank. maximum nko?is it really 1m?and can one do 60-90days |

2n2k: Note that stanbic doesn't debit you until your bid is successful and will only debit you with the discounted amount only.
However, it will freeze the face-value of your bid (though still in your account but not available for withdrawal) a day to the bidding day.
There is really no easy way to re-invest thru stanbic, however, if you have surplus amounts in the account to cover it, you can go like the example below
Let us say, you intend to invest N1m face-value at (estimated) bank rate of 18% with a tenor of 364 days
Fill a form for N1,220,000 This is N1,000,000 + N180,000 (i.e. the discount on N1m) + N40,000 (compounding discount on subsequent re-investments till discount get to zero)
Stanbic will freeze N1,220,000 on your account a day to bidding day without debiting you.
A day after the bidding, your account will only be debited with N1,000,000 and other minor commissions.
At maturity, you will be credited with N1,220,000.
Note that your yield is now 22% and not the 18% discount rate. This is called true yield when you reinvest discount at the same rate and tenor as the principal. please what's the least amount of days one can invest in treasury bills?i fixed 8.2m for 60days and got 95k that was still taxed. |

bellong: @tobe4real,
You have no choice than to comply with the assessing authority's requirements. Without an assessment result, you wouldn't get invitation from any state.
I can see you are fixed on South Australia. Queensland and Northern territory also sponsor the occupation. If I were in your situation, one of those will be my option and not SA at this period. yea you're right,i am looking at SA because of flinders in Adelaide,still got my nursing in mind and don't want anything to deter me from actualizing that even if I get to Aussie with a visa other than student |

Cottyekundayo: Well, speaking of skills, it depends on what you can do. It's not always green on this side as people assume. I remember my days waiting for the visa, all I could think of was, get in, make a lady pregnant and get PR. Back to the skills matter, what you think is a dirty job in Nigeria, pays really well here especially if you are good at it. For example, I am a civil engineer, I found myself fixing my car when issues come up. Hank's to YouTube resources and some knowledge from visiting the mechanic workshop back in NG. I have asked myself why didn't I choose to be a mechanical engineer? But then I realised engineering is about problem solving, so long you like what you do. While I waited for my visa, I could have learnt from a workshop, plumbing, Barbing, baking etc . But nope, all I did was check nairaland for testimonials, check abokifx.com for exchange rate and wanted about 2 months post service. All I am trying to say is learn something you think you can do and run around with when the shifts don't come. Some job ads may ask for a web developer, or software developer for some small job. Imagine if you got knowledge on this, you make yourself some money and carve a niche for yourself. Another funny thing I came across sometime I wanted to slim fit some trouser. The quotation was about $30/$50. One question, How much come be new one. The trouser still de my bag and I don buy others since then. None of my naija Chums on this side can do stuffs like that.
All I am saying is, don't come empty handed! as an engineer why did you still have to go with a student visa? |

koleefem05: I don't need it for assessment. Yes! A minimum of 65 across band is required to have 10 points in the Australia PR point test nomination ok....I prefer ielts speaking to pte speaking..but you gotta stick to pte...you'll do better this time..it's not compulsory you describe all those graphs accurately...you could say something like "the picture right here on my screen....bla bla bla to buy time to think,what really matters is oral fluency,how well you could speak without uh ah and all that break and blabbing..and familiarize yourself with the names of the various diagrams so you could say this line graph...this bar graph....this venn diagram....this pie-chart etc,if it's not a picture goodluck! |

bellong: What is your husband's occupation?
@tobe4real,
While a positive assessment is an indication of getting an invitation but your chances are dependent on other factors like number of people in the pool for the occupation, your ability to meet the minimum points etc.
If I were you, my worry at this stage will be getting a positive assessment. You will cross the bridge of invitation when you get there. thank you for your time bros..on the south Australia page they say welfare worker English requirement is competent plus but acwa page inludes in their minimum requirements proficient in English..the thing is I'm only 3 marks short of proficient in speaking but much better in other bands..could i be assessed positively with that? |

bellong: Your chances cannot be known until you put in for it.
Go to the assessing authority's website for requirements (I think it is ACWA). Align your job descriptions with that of anzsco for the occupation and I believe you should be fine. A 489 visa is better than student visa. brother...how true is it ,that once the assessing body approves you, your chances of getting your visa is 101%? |

ACT and NT sponsor it on 190 while most of the states sponsor it on 489.
Are you single and searching?
You probably was thinking about finding a wife... thanks bro...please what are my chances with this welfare worker way?should I really halt my nursing study plans and give this a shot? |

@tobe4real,
Social Work/intervention is different from youth work,.Though there could be a correlation or application of social Work principles in youth work but it is different. What type of social Work/ intervention did you do? How many years did you do it for? You probably can assess for welfare worker and if for more than three years for welfare centre manager.
Yes, psychology is very competitive. However, I believe there is quota for international students as that is what will bring money to the universities. The worst that can happen is to be given a graduate diploma before main Masters.
Which university did you finish from? You don't give up on something till you have fought attempted and fought the battle. You can't be sure of your chances till you put in for it medical aspect of social work/intervention,actually working in government hospital,1 year experience and I graduated from unilag. |
