JewelStone: No. I started from the scratch due to my non-science background. Where did you get that info from?
My fiance is Australian.
The bitter old fart on this thread who has no other job than quoting me everywhere on Nairaland should please mind his business and stop stalking me. I don't have time for cray cray mof-mofs. don't mind me..I just thought prolly cos that's what i have in mind. |

JewelStone: Please don't have a child with someone you don't love, the Aussie is trying to trap you into some real trouble. Child support here can make you go crazy, and you can't escape it. Not worth it, and having a baby won't give you PR. Even if you get married to an Aussie, you still need to wait a few years before you get PR, and intl student fees still applies until you get PR, unless you postpone your studies.
I get what you mean about the exorbitant school fees tho, my heart bleeds when I remember that I'm dropping $14k in July for the next semester and I've got 5 more semesters! There are so many things I can do with all that $$$. I do have a legit alternative of postponing my studies so I can pay less fees later, but I'm not sure if I want to do that cos I want to finish this degree and become a Registered Nurse asap. 5 semesters ke?i thought u entered via graduate entry. |

Dontee5star: Which of the point please ?
Why do people live in Columbus and not New York , Ibadan and not Lagos , Glasgow and not London Simple. Because different people are searching for different opportunities and environments its obvious one always stands a better chance with jobs in bigger cities like sydney....there must be a significant reason why u don't like sydney, could be it's too expensive or u just rather stay in a sparsely populated area to bag bonus points. |

Dontee5star: Haha you wrong , the value of uni degree is same in Aussie ; pedigree of school Doesn't guarantee you job , so many people even prefer studying nursing in TAFE and they'll still get good job .. No matter where you are in Australia , you should find part time jobs so far you aren't in country places , and most people dont even like Sydney , I have been there and I no like am i think she has some points...why don't you like sydney? |

JewelStone: WSU is AL2. Cost of living is higher in Sydney and so are the wages. I'm not sure about internships but that should depend on the course, check your course info page. School fees are increased each year, no chance of being lower second or third year. You can work within the allowed 40 per fortnight during school term and still make good grades easily but it's up to you.
I applied through PFL but they didn't make any difference in my application, feel like I wasted my 100k. WSU don't require agents for applications. wsu requires agent now, maybe your time was different |

PHUMEELAYO: yay.....i'm ecstatic. you are here, also pmed you. this is a rare opportunity, so you'd have to pardon my bombardment ma. did you apply to WSU through agent? if yes which? is it true the second year tuition is lower than the first? how feasible is it to work during the semester and still maintain a high grade? or do you work only during breaks? does the course offer internship/capstone at the end? how would you compare the cost of living in sydney to melbourne? is WSU AL1? mehn....this sounds like an interview if you're serious about wanting answers you will do your research yourself, pple on here are either looking to get on the Aussie bus or in Aussie already and pretty much occupied with hustle and studying, there are no agents on here...but well I will help some,if you actually get on the school's website you will get all the answers u seek...but yes 2nd year is cheaper and they have a number of agents...options edu agency, pfl and bcie are some of them. |

JewelStone: Hey good job tracking me down, lol. How can I help?
Maybe people don't mention it cos their Bachelor of Nursing isn't reputable or the location isn't suitable. For nursing degrees, the Uni you choose matters cos you don't want to struggle for placements during studies or jobs after graduation. I'll be doing the entire next semester of my practical unit in a reputable hospital, thanks to WSU. Cheap doesn't always mean good you know.
When people refuse to take sound advice, they end up in cities with no good jobs, doing mean and frustrating jobs with little pay. This makes them bitter because they are always tired and worn out, so they give others the impression that Australia isn't a good country for Intl students. And most times they have to search for obese ghetto white women/men as their only way out of frustration . Choose the right course and city and your life will be a bliss. Mine is a bliss, there's no city or country I would rather be right now #sydneyrocks please reply your pm |

JewelStone: Generally, hotels anywhere in Sydney are very pricey. But hotels in Sydney CBD cost an arm...if you get what I mean. Transportation isn't that expensive and you could easily get trains to Sydney CBD and save money by staying in surburbs like Ryde, Parramatta, Granville, Banstown, Liverpool, Epping etc hi jewel stone, someone on here referred me to u..I've sent drones trying to track u..glad u're here now |

Howoheye: I think is the best bet to get info from. She's studying the same course @ Parrametta Campus. Madam JS, I hail U.
Thanks for this brother. So many people in OZ have emphasized on not just choosing any area to study countless times on here, but few who are still here at times says location doesn't matter. The choice is individuals anyways. U've done ur bit.
Hi dear, what's good? I think different schools have different names for it. What matters is that it is Graduate Entry & can lead to Ur being registered with the professional body after completion. U may wanna checkout WSU, it's one of the three schools I've shortlisted. Cheers! thanks boss... |

Haliru001: The school is in Sydney, so I don't think you can get that 5 points that u talked about, moreover, since it's nursing u're going for, I don't rily see the need for that 5 points ( I stand to be corrected tho). I brought your attention to that school cos of the location (Sydney), instead of you just focusing on the place where everyone is against. You can still apply to Flinders, which was ur initial choice, but still try and apply to other schools in the big cities also. So when it's time for you to accept your offer, you'd have options to choose from. yea I have already paid my agent for flinders (half payment)but don't mind freeing the flinders...see what i saw as advantages of studying in wsu

You can research further tho please what more do you know about the school and environs that u can share?i've just seen I can get the 5 points regional bonus studying there. |

bellong: I am sorry for telling you. Goodluck.
It is not about people discouraging you. If you are coming with the plan of raising school fees in Adelaide, it is better you find school in other cities.
This will be the last time I will write this, there is high unemployment in South Australia, so it is a little challenging for students to get a job. It doesn't mean you will not get with time. If you are lucky, you may get on time but how many are actually that Lucky? |
