My small advise for potential migrant to Australia via study

If you plan to come to AUS, try scholarship PhD or Masters (thou highly competitive) but you can always get one. I have some colleagues who don't have a single publication and are admitted for PhD.

Your second choice should be masters by research (self sponsor). This will give you the opportunity to work without limit and will give the ability to raise enough money to pay your school fees conveniently.

The third option which is the professional master (self sponsor) has a limit to work (48hrs/fortnight). This is good if you are coming with a partner who can work unlimited hours and will support you. It will be challenging if you don't have a partner to support you as your 48hrs/fortnight may not provide you with necessary fund to pay your school fees but you can still manage to push through.

Take for example $30/hrs X 1 month/96hrs will give you a total of $2880 excluding tax. Rent will take like $800, feeding $300, others $100, total $1200. So you can only save an average of 1,500 in a month if you leave moderately. Now ask if that is enough to keep for school fees.

However, you can mitigate this challenge by working all round during holidays, cut your cost by searching for free things online (you can get anything including laptop, phones etc.), let you family members and friends know that you cannot afford to send them anything for now, spend when necessary.

This information is not to discourage anyone but to get you prepared for the challenges it hold.

Last last you go still survive am!

Nice update. Weldone

Hi guys, currently im waiting for my visa outcome and is expected to be out by early august, although I deferred my admission to Feb next year because that is the next available date. my school has resumed already and they made it compulsory for me to defer, but here is the catch, once I get a new coe and upload on my immi account, would the embassy give me my visa august, despite it being 6 months before my course starts or would it have to be close to when my school is about to resume before they give me a decision on visa application?

Please when did your school start ?

They do.
I got a mail when they sent mine to Australia Home Affairs. The mail just showed the day it was submitted and the name of the tests I did, not the result.

But if you want a copy of yours to see the results as well. you have to mail them to request for it .

I think some persons even see the doctor at IOM to confirm if their result is ok as I saw on a vlog on YouTube (Canada immigrant). If you go to Canada group on Naira land you will see such information too.

Ok thanks for the information.

Once your visa is granted you can travel anytime you choose but the tricky part is that you cannot start working until study commences. Also I think you might need to update your OSHC to suit the duration of your stay.

A friend told me that he knew someone with similar issue but the guy was able to work and save up good amount before session start.

Though I have been here for years, this is my first post on Nairaland...
A lot of the May Visa applicants will get their visa grants today being 10th and tomorrow being 11th... Do share the good news with us as we patiently wait for our time😊. Thanks
I applied to UniSQ, Toowoomba, resumption is today but I deferred.

If your Visa grant comes out can you still travel and start working while waiting for the next session ?

1 and 2: I'm not sure if you'd be considered directly for Masters although some would prefer you go for a bridging course like postgraduate diploma course before the Masters

3: Yes, you can but most schools prefer you go through their agents as they'd assist in proper documentation and the likes

4: Google to the rescue here

please do you have contact of any reliable agent ?
