To all GEJ supporters, I urge you all to support the new government of Buhari and contribute your own quota to the development of this great nation. Jonathan has tried his best, let him just leave the rest.

PoliticsWhat Makes The PVC Reliable And Effective by tohero(op): 9:07pm On Mar 24, 2015
It is not new that the PVC is our mode of voting in/out our presidential candidate.

However, rumours are around since last year that some citizens are borrowing/exchanging their PVC for goodies (rice + groundnut oil) grin

Recently, I heard about missing PVCs.

The bottom line here is the fact that some PVCs falls into the wrong hands.

Now, How is INEC planning to manage impersonation?

Is there anything that could render a vote invalid?

Help clear some doubts!

That's the way Larry writes;
he spins his plot so thick with enough suspense, so that you can hardly know how the story will turn out if you don't follow it to the end.

You should check out his other stories.
You are right! There was a line at a previous update to this last one which was not justify until I read it to the end, then I knew it was perfectly justified.

I like the way he writes. Hardly can you predict what's next.

Unlike that Nollywood's oyenusi (and most) that couldn't survive a suspence after the first part.

...Eighty percent of the Nigerian government’s
income comes from oil exports...
...Many
ex-militants have been awarded security contracts
[b] to guard the oil installations they [b]once protested
against and attacked

...
This implies ==>

...Militant leaders have become very rich
from government patronage and contracts...
+
...amnesty, cash stipends, and training.
Yet!!!
-Fuel Price was on the rise even though he promised to return the subsidy.

-Election by the corner, price reduce by #10, one-tenth of the price. Invariably, Added a quarter of our subsidy back. Where are the other 3 partshuh

-some days during this past week, fuel sky rocket to #120/litre @ Nigeria registered stations.

-In one way, fuel devalues our naira by 25%

-corruption is just common stealing or stealing is not corruption. Is he saying our leaders can dupe and not serve ushuh

Yet, the media are not sanctioned for addressing the matter as a religious issue

Wrong Analysis!!!
9jagistonline:
...
Adebayo Ademuwagun based his analysis without taking a KEY FACTOR! - Buhari in the last election was a CPC candidate. Now, he is a CPC+ACN candidate. The Analysis should include a fraction of ACN's result in these respective states.

Until then, I can't accept his Analysis!

Hadoop is the next big thing when it comes to Relational DataBase Management System (RDBMS). Unlike other RDBMS like MS Access, MS SQL server, MYSQL, Oracle; Hadoop handle a large data size of Terabytes and Petabytes. While it is best for handling "BIG DATA" as it is called through Parallel Data Computations using the Hadoop Distributed File System and MapReduce Program; it is not best for handing lots of small data sizes.

Why Use Hadoop?
The essence of using Hadoop is summarised as the 4
characteristics - the 4Vs.
.

Volume: used for handling a VERY large Data (and still growing). The term "Big Data" is often attributed to it.

Variety: Capable of handling different data types. That is
- structured data
- semi-structured data
- unstructured data
NB: all other RDBMS handles ONLY structured data.
And 80% of the world's data is unstructured. Which leaves only Hadoop for manipulating 80% of the world's data while the other RDBMS handles just 20% only. (You can see it is a great inventiongrin)

Velocity: Computations is fast using Hadoop as it breaks down large data, send it across different nodes in the cluster and processes are done simultaneously. This method is called Parallel data computation.

Veracity: Hadoop is Reliable as it replicates data across the clusters in case of node or rack failure.

How old is Hadoop
About 5 years old!

It is a hot case profession that will be of high demand grin

Who uses Hadoop Currently?

-Google. - Facebook. - IBM. - Alibaba. - Yahoo. - Adobe. - Linkedin. - Ebay etc.

What is Hadoop used for?
-Big Data Exploration
-Data Warehouse Augmentation (now Data Warehouse Modernisation)
-Intelligence/Security
-Operation Analysis
-360 view of a customer

When not to use Hadoop
-when work cannot be parallelized. That is there is inter-dependency of data.
-Not good for manipulating lots of small data sizes.
-Though it is not costly to setup, maintenance is.
-Low latency data access (since MapReduce is uesd to crunch data)
-Random Access Data (for transaction). On this, IBM's Adaptive MapReduce should be a solution to this (and prob. Low latency data access). I can't conclude yet (I am a student not expert) but I will be going through the insight.

Why this Thread?
Though, Hadoop is still new in the market, it brings hope to manipulating unstructured data. Hence, there is less "community areas" where the course is being discussed.

I hope this could be a talking point for Nairalanders who are students and Experts of Hadoop. We could learn together.
