This era, if you are really serious with marriage o. You don't ask about genotype from someone you want to marry anymore. This issue of yours had happened to several people but we never learn. if you really want to marry now in this era, you will take the lady to hospital by yourself and you won't assume she already knows it.

nvestment in Farming is good but I will advise you not to partner with anyone. Do it by yourself. If you don't know how to go about it, go and learn it. look for farmers in your areas and learn from them. Also, so as not to lose money if something goes wrong, do something you can use like 200k to get million in months, there are several crops that could give you that. Crops like watermelon, ginger, castor, sunflower, jathropha. An acre of ginger will cost around 300k to grow and an acre can give five tonnes. A tonnes was sold in Kano by a friend at 4m last month. that's around 20m within 6 months. So, my advice for you is to do a Farming that won't really gulp your money. At most 10 percent of your money is okay. Also, don't do too long to mature crops. At most, 6 months crops is okay. Other crops listed are very costly recently. But I just cited that of ginger.

that's one of them.

You are assuming in ideal situation...some areas have droughts, soil pollution, inadequate access and so on....like Lagos...it can't produce enough food to sustain the population hence everything is more expensive because of the population size and transportation...some countries can't feed themselves and organic farming can't produce enough to feed the world.

Drought, flood are natural disasters government can curb. Places like Lagos doesn't have land for farming even the GMO you are praising won't have sufficient land to grow there. No be like that natural disasters they reign for Nigeria now. between Lagos to Ibadan Express road alone, have not heard of any disaster in that route since have been born but their are hundreds of lands wasting away. And this era that we have learnt about some type of farming we can do in our city like sack farming, green House, vertical farming, hydroponics, aeroponics, e.t.c. We have resources to do good organic farming now than before. it's just that many see farming as dirty, wretched, poor, stressful job.

Population ...Demand and Supply...Without GMO, Organic will be more expensive. In Economics Class, substitutes drive down demand and price not the other way around.

I still don't believe scarcity of Foods. Have you gone to a place to demand for food and you don't get due to Scarcity? And if their is scarcity, since the scarcity was caused by population, why can't government increase population of production and mandate everyone to farm? Most especially if you aren't employed.
Farming is very easy to practice alongside any job you are doing, most especially if you use machine. You don't need the whole of a day to plough anf plant an acre even if it's only you. With crazy machines existing now. If everyone has at least an acre, all this story will be avoided.

The sane countries you want to japa to...they all survive on Genetically Modified Foods...Organic are so so expensive

The reason for organic being expensive is because of another option. If GMO isn't introduced, organic will be cheap. No be that organic we they eat before GMO came.

Investment / Re: What Can I Invest 200k On by Tohsynetita1: 12:38pm On Jan 12
Khd95:
Good morning good people of nairaland and seasoned investors/ business men and women

My younger brother works and earn reasonably well, he entered into a thrift(ajo) this year at his place of work and he’s due to pack 200k by end of march.
He desires to commit that money into a tangible business or investment that require minimal supervision from him, we both agreed that agriculture or food items is a lucrative venture, how ever neither of us know anything about it or how he can go about it.

He wants to diversify and as times goes if the business thrives he will commit more funds into it, he reached out to me for ideas and suggestions and I am equally at a loss on how to go about it

So I am here to seek opinion and guidelines on what to invest 200k on and how to go about it

Thank you

Your best bet, farming, export, import. You see that farming, you can become a millionaire in a year, if you know the right crops and you monitor it. An acre of ginger can give you 5 tonnes, a tonne of ginger was sold around 4m some weeks ago. setting up an acre is around 500k. That's ginger o, there are several like castor, sunflower, mushroom, snails, jathropha, stevia, watermelon.
