Politics / Re: Fayose And Aregbesola Disagree On Sale Of National Assets by tojuboy(m): 9:25am On Oct 03, 2016
Topskybadoo:
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and his from Osun State counterpart, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola have disagreed over the need to sell national assets to finance the 2016 budget.

While Aregbesola urged the Federal Government to sell ‘idle’ national assets and spare the functional ones, Fayose opposed the idea, arguing that selling them would amount to auctioning Nigeria.

The duo spoke in Ado Ekiti during an interactive forum which was part of the activities lined up to mark the 20th anniversary of the creation of Ekiti State.

They, however, canvassed regional integration and cooperation as well as the revival of agriculture as some of the steps to revive national economy.

Aregbesola, who delivered a lecture entitled, “The imperative of unity,” said the biting economic problem was such that in the whole of the South-West region, only Lagos State could stand on its own.

He stressed the need to intensify efforts to revive agriculture, end oil pipeline vandalism and promote regional integration for meaningful development.

He said, “We should revive agriculture, especially food production. Agriculture gives us raw materials for industries and aids in no small measure in economic development. If we can improve on our productivity in food production through agriculture, we will eliminate hunger in our land.

“I want to urge Nigerians to end the ongoing vandalism of oil pipelines as the militants’ activities have been reducing the nation’s daily oil productivity level to between 700,000 and one million per barrel.

“The current vandalism of oil pipeline by the Niger Delta militants is robbing the nation of oil production of 700,000 to one million per barrel on a daily basis. This amounts to a huge loss of oil revenue to the country and has further led to the current recession in the country. An urgent concerted effort is therefore needed to stop the vandalism so that the country could get out of the recession.”

Aregbesola added, “It is high time the Yoruba nation and indeed the South-West united in terms of integrating our development strategies in education, commerce, economy, agriculture and tourism among others. There is no reason we should not unite for the best.

“The truth is that no Yoruba state, with the exception of Lagos State, can survive alone without collaborating with sister states. Therefore, we have to come together, pull together our abundant human and material resources.”

The governor described Ekiti people as men of integrity and courage and urged them to continue to support their governor for the development of the country.

“I congratulate all Ekiti people on the 20th anniversary of the creation of your state, my state, our state. You fought the Ekiti Parapo War which is an indication of unity of purpose. There is strength in unity.”

But Fayose, in his remarks, said selling the national assets was like selling Nigeria at a give-away price.

“Selling our national assets simply amounts to auctioning Nigeria. If we sell the assets because the country is in recession, what would be left of Nigeria?

“What would we call our own? Selling of assets is like moving the country backward. If we sell the assets to finance this year’s budget what would we sell next year? The Federal Government should look beyond its party and assemble economists and financial experts that would assist the President in his drive to bring the nation out of the present economic quagmire.”

Urging the Federal Government to uphold the principles of justice and equity, which he said were germane to building democracy, the governor said, “Justice is very important and without it, democracy is already endangered. If people are now beginning to contest against the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for manipulation of elections, then democracy is endangered. It is political parties that are supposed to contest elections and not people contesting against inadequacies of the electoral umpire.”

if we have nothing to sell after selling our national assets then we will sell our president and cabals.

Romance / Re: Do Men Prefer Virgin? by tojuboy(m): 11:15am On Jan 17, 2015
buildingacastle:
I think what we are all forgetting is that people LIE. When it comes to lying, girls are the senior citizens and us guys must gracefully bow out.
The ultimate goal and pinnacle for any s3xual relationship should be a happily married life. Therefore in my humble opinion, any man that bases his desire to get happily married to a woman solely because she SAYS she is a virgin, has already flunked the course.

If you are a good guy and decide not to have s3x with your 'virgin' fiancee until after marriage, e go don too late by the time you find out now. So please let's look at what is more important than s3xual history alone.
As for me, and giving a valid example, a completely faithful woman irrespective of history ranks higher than a mere virgin.
A girl once told me that many virgins just keep their virginity as a status symbol to remain a big attraction for when they are ready to get married. But the things they currently do in bed with different guys are actually worse than what some normal s3xually active girls will do. They are keeping that one part for husband meanwhile other parts done scatter wella. Presumably, I need not go into detail...

Romance / Re: Few Things We Wish Our Boyfriend Knew :P by tojuboy(m): 8:36pm On Jan 15, 2015
ggrin:
Men claim women are much more complicated than them, but what about our side of the story? It's actually really simple to make a woman happy - if they'd only look out for the signs!
Boyfriends make the best of friends and amazing lovers, but it goes without saying that sometimes (okay, a LOT of the time) we think men could do more. Familiar phrases spring to mind; 'He never makes enough effort', 'he's always with his friends' and 'he never notices me,' but as they say, boys will be boys.

1. Small things count
Some guys think all they have to do is surprise us once and they’re set for life, but trustus, we're keeping note. Why not pick-up our favourite feel-good treat while you’re on your way home this evening (clue, it's either wine, chocolate or cheese) or buy us that new book we've been talking about non-stop. Trust us, our appreciation will show wink

2. Confidence is hot, arrogance is NOT
Every girl loves a man who’s comfortable in his own skin. It makes us feel safe and protected and nothing feels sexier than that. But arrogance? We. Can’t Stand It angry

3. Chivalry is not dead
Be old fashioned from time to time - we freaking loveit. Pay on the first date, hold the door for us and walk us to the front door kiss

4. Don’t be a man-baby
We’re nurturing, yes. Women love taking care of their men and helping them out, but as soon as we feel like we’re in mummy mode we want out. Most guys are kids at heart, but if we’re doing more than a bit of cuddling (i.e. cutting your food into little pieces) then there’s definitely a BIG problem.

5. Listen and take interest
After a hectic day all we want our man to do is listen. Women like to talk and pour their feelings out - it’s a well known fact. We confide in you, because we trust you to make us feel better. So please just mute the TV, put down your beer and just listen dammit!angry

6. Be honest
It’s true when they say honesty is the best policy. Telling a fib might seem like a great idea now, but women always find out and when we do it ain't pretty. Most importantly, don’t cheat and lie about it. That's just cowardlysad

7. Make us a priority
Women need to feel like they’re more important than an a video game abi wetin em dy call amundecided. Of course men need to spend time with their friends and have some down time, but 3rd place isn’t cool. If your girl doesn't feel like she’s a priority then you're doing something very wrong buddy.

8. Notice the small things
Everyone wants to be noticed by their partner. New hairstyle? New clothes? New dress size? New bra? Say something to acknowledge our effort, besides we (partially) did it for you! tongue

9. Take it slow (in bed)
It can’t get any worse than a man finishing before we've even started. Women take longer to reach orgasm and pre-intimacy is key - take your time and don’t rush. Thank you cheesylipsrsealed

10. Turning down sex is NOT a big deal
More often than not, if we turn down sex, it probably has nothing to do with you. We all have our down days - exhaustion, stress, worry? They’re all major mood killers. It happens - don't take it personally tongue

11. Help us
There’s nothing more irritating than a lazy man. Try helping us out with household chores, the school run and daily errands. It’s just as much your responsibility as it is ours

12. Learn to say sorry
Stop being so stubborn! If it’s your fault and you’re clearly in the wrong you owe it to us. Go on, say the magic word. Sorry can go a long way in relationships...wink

13. Sometimes we really do feel like sh*t
Men think women are attention seekers most of the time, but sometimes we actually do feel like crap. Don’t forget those painful cramps, headaches and PMS. Periods are hell to deal with - give us a breakcry

14. Take care of your hygiene
Some guys ehn Brushed your teeth? Showered? Deodorised? You’re a grown ass man, just do it alreadysad

15. Know yourself
We need to be on the same page. If a man knows what he wants and is self-assured they're a lot less likely to seek fulfilment in pointless things like getting wasted with mates and talking to 10 other chicks, (for which there's zero tolerance for by the way)undecided

16. Do not forget our anniversary or birthday
There’s 365 days in a year and you only have to remember 2 of them, that’s why we get annoyed. Set a reminder on your phone, write it in your planner or tell your mum if you have to (just don't tell us you did), but whatever you do, do NOT forget.but how on earth will you forget my birthday shocked

17. Respect us
Some men don't value their partners as much as they should. Love her like it's your last day, appreciate her for all that she is and be grateful for everything she does. Think about it cool

To All my ladies, Is there something else you wish your man knew? Share it with us gringrin

i av learnt 4rm dis,i will give it a trial

Education / Re: Why Do We Go To School? by tojuboy(m): 11:49am On Sep 30, 2014
Olutola88: The commonest reason for going to school is to have a secured future; Get a noble job with your degree, have good work environment, access to better healthcare, good retirement package etc. This applies not only to Nigerians but also to people all over the world.

At one point or the other, our parents reminded us of how important it is for us to face our studies so as to become great in life. I remember vividly one of the most popular Yoruba songs we sang in primary school: “Bata re a dun ko ko ka, bi o ba ka we re, bata re a dun ko ko ka, Ti o ko ba kawe re, bata re a wo sherere ni le e”. Meaning: “If you take your studies seriously, you will get to wear the most elegant office Shoes but if you do not read your books, you will be roaming the streets in bathroom slippers all your life”.

Then, we were all made to believe that the most brilliant students in class had the brightest future and that the ones that weren't academically sound were in trouble. The brainiacs were on top of the world, loved by all, enjoyed preferential treatment from teachers, classmates always wanted them to have a taste of whatever food they brought from home, classmates always shared everything with the brightest kid in class because everyone wanted to be friends with the young boy/girl with the BRIGHT FUTURE.

Whenever we were asked what we wanted to become in future, none of us wanted to be Teachers. Have you ever asked yourself why we never wanted to be Teachers? It's simply because even as kids, we knew the Teaching profession was not among the most lucrative. We all wanted to be Medical Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Bankers, Pilots etc. As fate would have it many of us are teachers today not because we wanted it but because of the killing rate of unemployment. The teaching job seems to be one of the easiest to get and trust me, it still remains one of the worst-paid jobs. Some University graduates earn as low as 15,000 naira monthly as Teachers.

Where are the best 5 students in your class while in primary school and secondary school? Did they end up having BRIGHT FUTURE? In fact, I can't count the number of people that have told me that I have a bright future(especially girls). Some of them even dated me for that reason. I just hope the “You have a bright future” slogan isn't a scam because the future is almost here. *lmao*. Even if I'm not fooled by the numerous “you have a bright future” gists I've heard from people, I still believe with GOD I have a VERY BRIGHT FUTURE *winks.

Do Primary school and High school students of today still have that our archaic orientation? Are they still made to believe that Education should be mainly for you to secure a decent job? Do they need to be reoriented? Should we teach them better benefits of Education?

As for me, I will call a spade a spade and not an instrument for digging; I WENT TO SCHOOL BECAUSE I WAS BORN IN A SOCIETY WHERE WE WERE MADE TO BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL AND HAVE GOOD GRADES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE.

WHY DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL?
because i want 2 gain knowledge nd be able add value 2 my society wit wat i av learnt in skul
