PoliticsRe: FG School Feeding Programme A Waste — Principals by Tolahinges: 10:38am On Nov 15, 2018
Omooba77:
Lafia – Alhaji Katcha Kudu, North Central President of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), has written off the Federal Government’s School Feeding Programme, describing it as a conduit pipe to siphon public funds.

Alhaji Kudu said this while fielding questions from journalists at the venue of the zonal annual workshop of ANCOPSS at the Ta’al Conference Centre in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Kudu argued that the school feeding programme was a failure and noted that the amount of money spent was not justifiable given the quality of meals given to students.

According to him, “The school feeding programme is a total failure and a means to enrich some few friends of this administration.
He will call it a scam because the program was not handed over to them to run as they see fit. Wicked jegudujeras who don't want to see anything good in thia administration because things have moved from how it used to be to better and more capable hands who know what the people want.

“Principals are not even involved in the implementation and therefore we don’t even have a say.

“The government should have a rethink and take serious inventory of the exercise and stop wasting national resources.

“There are better programmes that will improve the life of the poor.”

chieyine:
Nigeria celebrated her 58years anniversary of Independence from Britain and the President gave a list of achievements in his administration.
Reno Omokri debunked each statement President Buhari made.
Read what he has to say about Buhari's Independence Day Speech;

How can you say “we are on the right path”? We have just been named the world headquarters for extreme poverty and you think that is the right path? Did you come to put us on the path to poverty? You can’t even articulate a plan to get us out of poverty.

As usual, President Buhari's Independence Day broadcast was full of lies. I will now expose each lie with facts and figures to back up my expositions. I feel sorry for those who say Buhari has ‘integrity’. Does a man of integrity tell so many lies?

“There has been a steady improvement in the security situation in the North East” A lie. The situation in the NE has deteriorated seriously. Almost a hundred soldiers have died in 2018. Boko Haram has attacked and overran barracks twice this year

“We are diversifying away from reliance on oil to increased manufacturing capacity” Lie. Manufacturing capacity has reduced 28% from 2015 levels.Google it. We are dependent on foreign loans. Buhari has borrowed more than any other in our history

“Efforts are on course in the Niger Delta to clean up polluted lands” Another BIG LIE. 2 years after Prof Osinbajo flagged off Ogoni Cleanup, not a drop of oil has been cleaned. Instead, a maritime university meant for the Niger Delta was scrapped

“Conflict between herders and farmers is being addressed decisively.” Lie. On June 26, Buhari himself said “There is nothing I can do to help the situation except to pray”, when he visited Plateau after herdsmen killed hundreds of Nigerians there.

“We are making progress in the fight against corruption” Lie. According to Transparency International, Nigeria is more corrupt today than 2015 and made her worst ever performance on TI’s CPI, moving 12 steps backward from 136 to 148

“There is now an enabling environment for local and foreign investment in Nigeria.” Lie. There is a capital flight out of Nigeria. Nigeria is not in this year’s top 10 highest recipients of FDI in Africa. In 2013-14 we were number One. Google it

“We are gradually strengthening the economy with a stable Naira” Lie: S & P rated Naira the worst performing currency in Africa in 2016 and one of the worst in the world in 2017. Naira is classified as a volatile and is not accepted in Europe and SA

“Our youths have been at the vanguard of the struggle” Lie. President Buhari told the Commonwealth of Nations on April 18, 2018 in London that ‘Nigerian youth are lazy, uneducated’. It was caught on video. His words then belie his words today

“I have committed myself to ensure elections are free and fair” Lie. Vote buying increased under Buhari. Police routinely declare opposition candidates wanted days to elections and the APC chairman inadvertently admitted to rigging Osun election

“At the international level, we remain a responsible and respected member of the international community” Lie. Our President is NOT respected. President Donald Trump called him “lifeless”. He is considered a joke in the international community.

“As President, I‘ll continue to work tirelessly to promote, protect and preserve what really matters: unity” Lie. Nigeria is more divided than at any time because Buhari continues to appoint mostly Northern Muslim Fulanis into sensitive positions.

Conclusion: I deal in facts. Buhari is a liar. To say he has integrity is an insult.

PoliticsRe: Saraki: Cabal Ruling Us, Not Buhari by Tolahinges: 11:00am On Sep 19, 2018
akelicious:
The Senate President and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bukola Saraki, yesterday regretted the happenings in Aso rock, the seat of power in Nigeria since 2015 with a verdict that cabal and not President Muhammadu Buhari was in charge of the most populous black country in the world.

He recalled that Nigerians voted the President with the hope that Buhari would effect positive change in the country, but lamented that the people have been shortchanged by the cabal who continue to hold sway in power.

Saraki who was accompanied by Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, Senator Abiodun Olujinmi, Captain Idris Wada, Dr. Doyin Okupe and Muhammed Wakil, made the remarks while addressing PDP delegates in Oyo State during a meeting where he solicited for their votes ahead of the October presidential primary of the major opposition party in the country.

He said the few influential world presidents who had visited Nigeria under the present administration did not stay beyond a few hours because they were convinced that their host did not understand their mission or contributed to discussion as expected.

He also said that Nigeria lacked the progress it deserved because voting patterns were determined by religion, language and ethnicity instead of capacity and merit.

Saraki said, “Over the years, we have made mistakes in electing people based on sentiment. Yes, it is time we correct it. We will correct it because we are capable. Over the years, we have voted for people based on religion, the language they speak and where they came from in Nigeria. We need people who have the courage, capacity, ability and determination.

“I have shown over the years, particularly in the recent years that one has the opportunity of leadership, that I have the capacity to take Nigeria forward. The countries that have done well did so not by bringing leaders by chance but because they looked for capable leaders. It is time to pick such leader.

“The president we have now does not understand leadership. We have endured him for more than three years but it is the same thing. Nigerians voted for him (Buhari) but cabal is ruling the country. That is not what democracy means. This time, let us look for who can do it. In Nigeria today, we do not have unity. What we need in the present world is digital president.

“When your president sits with world presidents, he should be able to understand what they are saying. That is why presidents who have visited the country did not stay more than a few hours. But when they know that their host understands them, they will stay longer and explore investment opportunities in Nigeria.”

Saraki said he considered Oyo State his home because his paternal grandmother was from Iseyin area of the state. He added that the state’s priorities would be protected if he became the president.

“I am happy to be back at home. This is my home, this is my state. By the boundaries that we share between Oyo and Kwara States, compared to other aspirants, it is just a stone throw to travel from Oyo to Kwara State, and they will know that their next president is just next door. On my father side, my grandmother came from Iseyin here in Oyo State; the same town where the PDP chairman in Oyo State comes from, so I know that I have captured a delegate with me. I am sure that many aspirants have come but now that your own has come home, there is nothing wrong in telling them your son has come so that Oyo can have someone that will protect its priority,” he said.

Greater heights and continuity we prady now #PMB2019
Buterflyle0:
By Johnbosco Agbakwuru
ABUJA – PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday appealed to the National Assembly to hasten the passage of the Proceeds of Crime Bill before it in order to strengthen his anti-corruption war in the country.

This is as the President has vowed to make optimal use of proceeds of recovered loots to address the economic and social problems and has promised to block loopholes for stealing public funds.
The President made the appeal when he received report of the committee on the Audit of Recovered Public Assets which he set up last year to carry out a comprehensive audit of assets and funds recovered by Ministries, Departments and Agencies between 29th May 2015 and 22nd November 2017.

The three-member Committee which said it had recovered N769 billion is chaired by Olufemi Lijadu, an accountant from the Auditor General of the Federation office, Mohammed Nami, and Gloria Chinyere Bibogha.

Pointing out that assets recovery is an integral part of the war against corruption, the President said the committee was empanelled not only to reconcile different figures released as recovered loot since 2015, but to also evolve a proper management, transparency and accountability culture in the management of recovered assets

According to him: “Our asset recovery and management system will in future be transparently, effectively and efficiently managed, and we will set out a fresh template of public accountability in the country.

“However, a key tool that will revolutionize our asset recovery and management architecture is the Proceeds of Crimes Bill which is currently awaiting passage by the National Assembly.

“Once the Bill is passed and assented, many of the challenges facing our asset recovery and management practice will be adequately taken care of as the Bill addresses most of the challenges facing effective asset recovery and management in Nigeria. I therefore encourage the National Assembly to take necessary steps to pass the Bill.”

He promised that proceeds of assets recoveries would be optimally used to address economic and social problems, while loopholes for stealing public funds must be blocked; even as he assured Nigerians that the findings and recommendations of the Committee would be carefully examined and given due consideration with a view to implementing the recommendations.

Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who stressed that the committee’s work was intended to avoid a re-looting of the recovered assets, proposed that projects funded by recovered loot should henceforth be appropriately captured in national budgets.

Giving a mini breakdown of the recovered assets, Malami said: “The federal government recovered N13.8 billion from tax evaders in May 2018.

“In May 2018, government paid N439.2million to about 14 whistle blowers who gave specific information on tax evasion.

“Again, N3.8 million, $378million US dollars 27,800 pounds was equally recovered from public officials.

“In summary, the recovered funds by the three-man committee is N769 billion naira cash, recovered within the period under review.”

Chairman of the Committee, Lijadu, in his brief remarks, disclosed that it was complied in four volumes even as he appealed to government to always deploy recovered assets properly.

Lijadu said, “The government agencies covered by the audit are the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) Nigeria Police Force, Pension Transitional Arrangement Department, PTAD, Federal Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, and Department of State Security, DSS.

“The Committee obtained access to records including bank statements and other information from government agencies, banks and other organizations regarding recovered cash and non cash public assets. The Committee as required by its Terms of Reference, reviewed and attempted to reconcile the recovered assets as declared by agencies with the actual recoveries made.”

PoliticsRe: Amaechi: "Nigerians Will Enjoy 24-Hour Power Supply If Buhari Is Re-elected" by Tolahinges: 6:39pm On Sep 12, 2018
Power in most areas have improved and we only expect more improvement #PVCForBUhari2019
Lizzysamuel:
The Minister of Transportation and Director general of the Buhari campaign organization, Rotimi Amaechi has said Nigerians will enjoy 24 hours power supply if President Buhari is re-elected in 2019. Amaechi disclosed this during an interactive session with the media in Abuja on Tuesday, September 11th.

Speaking on why Buhari and the APC government deserves the second term, Amaechi said;

“There is also an improvement in power. We have from 3000megawatt to 7000 but we are distributing 5000 because some of the Infrastructures are not in good state but we are slowly fixing them.
The expectation is that it should be 24 hours power supply but there will still be a gap but if you give us a second term, that gap will be closed.”

Speaking further, the former Rivers state governor said;

“Nigerians have taught me a lesson I learnt in politics and that is why nothing bothers me again. The people praising you today, if you see them when you are out of power, you will be shocked. Those singing hallelujah and hosanna will still be the same people to shout crucify him tomorrow.

“We have done much more than transport. In terms of Corruption; this economy was a rent economy. Public money was spent anyhow and it was an economy that was not worked hard for. That is why you see politicians today very rich and one year after government, they are poor. They are like that because they don’t know how to manage the money.

“When Buhari came, he said no and that we cannot continue to spend anyhow. Buhari has not said people should not steal, he has rather kept quiet to see who can steal because there is a consequence for stealing.

“I don’t want to say it has stopped completely but it has reduced. Before, there were so many empty houses in Abuja. People were building and speculating that new politicians will come in and buy but we came in and could not buy because of the economy. So if you say Buhari has not done anything on corruption, you are being most unfair.

“Also, the 2016 budget was 6percent capita but we are doing 20 percent capita now. We are doing 80 percent recurrent and 20 percent capital. We believe that in the next two to three years, we will get to 30 percent capital and we will get there if we reduce the current expenditure and deal with wastage.”
“It is also unfair if Nigerians think the ministry of works is not working. The road to Bonny was abandoned after Obasanjo left government.

“The road was below N39bn but it is now N120bn. When I was Governor, I wrote to federal government under Jonathan that I wanted to do the road for N39bn but they didn’t reply me.
“My final year as governor, energy wrote that they will take care of 50 percent of the bill and I wrote again to the Federal Government but they didn’t reply because I was in APC. Now that the Federal government wants to do it, the cost is now N120bn.

“So, Buhari government is dealing with corruption, building roads. The worst roads in Nigeria used to be between Uyo and Calabar but it has been awarded.

“The road to Enugu too that people are complaining about, contractors are working on the roads already. The work may be slow but they are working. When we came oil was $28 per barrel and our budget was $35 and suddenly it dropped but the Minister of Budget managed it for us to survive. Now oil is $74 but we still have not reached $110. If we get to that, things will change rapidly. Also the Ilorin-Jebba road. So many roads have been awarded.”

I can't remember seeing the scheme being tagged a PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED SCHEME has Nigerians now have no value in your sight that you feel everybody has to be a shoe maker and pure water seller?

ignoramus, if you don't understand what you're quoting, then ask questions first rather being eager to display how empty and Stuppid you are.
our devalued currency has no value all thanks to our leaders that got us here with visionless ideas like the one on this thread. I equated 10k - 20k to dollars in case the naira figures look big in your sight probably because of the thousands you're seeing there.

And what yardstick can i best use to portray my explanation if not my experienced self? With this your low iQ on how less than 20k can grow a successful business in our current society is extremely alarming.

Again like I said, millions of NYSC alumni collected 19k for 12months, why hasn't that robust our economy?

How much does an average Nigerian spend on feeding in a month that 10k will now be given to the person as a business loan? Anyone needing 10k as loan is definitely a hungry man and will end up quandaring it in no time hence the waste.

Is it too bad for 200k above to be given to already established businesses that needs growth in a developing country like Nigeria? What is the need of initiating a poverty scheme that has no aim of heading anywhere.

Even micro finance banks don't give 10k - 20k as loans anymore. Please it's not a must you talk if you don't have any meaningful idea about what we're discussing.
It's a start. If you can manage the 10k, pay back as at when promised, you're entitled to a larger loan.
