Thank you for your prompt response. The application has been submitted already and there’s no way the priority could be added, at least I’m not seeing it on the TLS portal again. That’s why we’ve decided to add it at the TLS centre. I may be wrong though. Will physical card be needed or just the card details to make the payment? A pound debit card is available but not physically. What do you advice?

duchess90:
Hello

The value is in GBP

It is better to add the priority request and pay before your biometrics

If you intend to do so at TLS then confirm from your bank if your card has a limit and if it can cover that figure

Cheers quote author=tolats post=124752929]Hi duchess90 and all. Thanks for your help always.

Please, the 250£ priority fees, if one is paying at the TLS centre before biometric, is it paid in Naira or Pounds? How do one get it paid easily?

Thanks

Please house, I have a few questions about passport renewal in London.

1. From people's recent experience, please, when is the earliest one can collect the renewed passport after capturing? I applied in may and was booked for appointment in July.
2. I couldn't see any appointment slip to print after passport registration, I don't know if this is a new development due to website upgrade or something. I need someone to confirm this for me please.
3. My passport expires in September, and I should apply for Schengen visa in August, do you think there would be problem if I apply for Schengen visa by having less down three months on the expiring passport? It's just a three days trip.
4. Does fast tracking exist with passport renewal in London?

Thank you for your help and God bless.
Please any information regarding question 2? Thanks in advance

u need minimum of 3 months validity from the time you leave the Schenghen area for visa approval. Lower ur expectations about getting a passport in time. The workload given the amount of Nigerians in the UK has put pressure on the High Commission. Turn around time’s recently have been a big faff.
I guess there's no traveling for me be that. Thanks for your message. How about risking to apply for the Schengen visa or writing them to explain my situation?

The mistake she made was doing her tuberculosis test during visa processing.
She could have done that when she was waiting for her Cas.Always leave rooms for uncertainties. At times, things won't follow the normal circumstances.

My advice:Since you were unable to get the results, write your school and defer.

Note:TB is only valid for 6months meaning you and your dependants would have to start a fresh one.
The space of her deposit payment and CAS issuance was less down two weeks. Thanks for your advice.

If IOM is willing to give that without the sputum test, it can be used but I think that needs to be supported with a letter stating that it isn't TB.

NB: she can have an abnormal result which doesn’t mean she has tb, she can confirm with her physician to get a second opinion, if the abnormal result is as a result of a diff condition, she can take the doctor’s report back to IOM. But if the result is the same then it’s best to differ the admission
Thank you for your help. Her physician, do you mean the Dr at the centre or an external Dr?

1. Looks like the best option.
2. Yes but it will be minus admin charges. This should only be done if not deferring, if deferring, just leave the deposit with the school. Check the school's refund policy.
3. 6 months but many schools give CAS about 3 months to resumption due to the number of applications received.
4. If it is valid at the time of application. If not, she will need to do a new one.
5. 6 months but depends on how fast her school is.
6. Her TB test will be required and she might get a NSF mail requesting for it. If none received, application will be rejected.
7. No. Their applications are dependent on hers. Cancel the applications and reapply when all is sorted to avoid auto-rejection.
8. Yes. The best time is before their biometrics.
Thank you for your swift response. I was thinking if she goes to the IOM tomorrow and request for a TB certificate with abnormality ticked on the certificate, would this lead to rejection on the visa, as I saw a clause on existing TB certificate that one can apply with abnormal x-ray result but with follow up, except I misread. Another thing that crossed my mind is, can she do another TB test in another center? Maybe after like a week or two, probably things would change for good. Thanks again

Urgent! Urgent! Urgent!

Hello everyone. My sister has a visa biometric appointment tomorrow morning 14/12/2022. She did her TB test today 13/12/2022 hoping she would collect the result today and go for the visa biometric tomorrow with assisted service. However, she was asked to do the TB scan twice and later was told to see the Dr. Dr said the result is abnormal that she needs to come by next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for examination and she can now get a result after 10 weeks. Meanwhile, her course starts on January 7 2023 and the school said she must be present for matric on that day. Note that her husband and child have their TB test results already today.

Please what step can she take next:
1. Defer admission to September 2023?
2. Is it possible to ask for refund of school deposit?
3. If she defers for September, when is the earliest she can apply for visa?
4. If she collects a negative TB result after 10 weeks, can she still use it for September admission, as the validity of TB result is 6 months.
5. What's the earliest she can apply for CAS for September start if she defers?
6. Is there any luck if she goes ahead with the visa biometric tomorrow?
7. Can the dependants (husband and son) go ahead with the biometrics without her?
8. If they all cancel their visa application, will there be refunds of both IHS and Visa fees; and when is the latest they can cancel?

Sorry for so many questions. Thanks in anticipation for your kind feedbacks.

Thank you @dduchess90 and everyone that provides useful information here.

I got my Temporary Worker sponsored researcher (Tier 5) CoS, and maintenance ticked (dependants included). Here are my questions:
1. While applying for visa, do I need to provide a bank statement showing my complete scholarship stipends (not necessarily holding for 28days)?
2. Will I need to show my bank statement at the UK point of entry showing the complete scholarship stipends?

I'm asking because I may use some of the stipends to process my dependants' visa and other miscellaneous spending. Thank you in anticipation for your response.

Hello

ATAS is valid for 6months,it should be fine for December

Cheers
Thank you very much for the insight. I was thinking I needed to make a different ATAS application since I now have a new invitation letter that carries the new date. And I remember stating the old start and end date during the ATAS application. My fear is hope it won't affect my visa application when the time is right (probably if they check the ATAS data with them and found out a different start date).

Thanks again

Hello my good people!

I recently received my ATAS certificate for a research start date of October 1 but due to unforseen circumstances, I need to shift the start date to December 1. My question is: do I need to apply for a new ATAS as no start or end date is written on the certificate? Thanks in advance.

yerima21:
if the visit is from october 2022 then you should be ok as per visa application and no one will expect you to renew a passport that still has nearly 1 year validity. Alternatively you can go ahead and try renewal, the most important aspect is biometrics data capturing. If the new passport come out when you are in the UK someone you designate can collect it and send to you through DHL. However, like someone already said, you can also return back to Nigeria with your already expired passport without problem. In fact since the covid crisis and the consequent delays in issuing new passports the Nigerian immigration has authorised Nigerians especially in diaspora to travel without thier expired passpots without any hindrance and I personally know those who have been travelling to Nigeria with thier expired passports
Thanks much for this, I appreciate

U don’t need the passport to be valid for the whole of the trip. I have done as well as family members.
You can either renew in the UK when you are nearly done with your activity or use a British airways or virgin direct flight back to Nigeria at the completion of your trip or if it makes you feel better get an emergency travel certificate from the Nigeria High commission in London.. but you wont be denied as a Nigerian entry into your country becaus of expired ppt. There is also no immigration stand when exiting the UK from the airports. Noone cares, just leave their country .
Thanks so much for this

Even though i think it's too early to apply now for september 2023 visa, in your case I will suggest at the ideal time, you apply with the same passport and write a simple explanatory letter to explain that your passport will be renewed before the expiration of the current one while stating you couldnt have renewed it before applying for the visa as the passport still had up to 6 months life span.
Alternatively, still try to renew your passport even if it has more than 6 months left before end of validity, you can never tell how possible it could be. I am a living witness because i have a passport that expires 10th december 2022 but i still applied for a new one (10 yr passport) in March 2022 using an agent in Lagos and the passport came out in May. Try to speak to an immigration agent and you ll be surprised many things are possible in this country.
Actually the visit should be October 2022 but ends September 2023 hence the need for clarification on the expiry of my passport. An immigration officer also told me they can renew the passport but with an approval of their passport controller but with an extra fees. But my concern is just to clarify if I can travel back home while the passport has expired because if I start the renewal process now, only God knows when it would come out.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by tolats(m):

Go ahead and use your passport like that. You can't renew your passport until it's less than 6 month validity.
Thank you for your swift response.

I was in contact with an immigration officer earlier and he was like I need to renew it and he would help me seek approval from their Passport Controller at an extra charge. That's why I'm here to be sure of what I'm doing; so that at long run, I won't be given that it's impossible after making such effort and payment.

Also, I will like to know if one can travel with an expiry date back to Naija given the expiry date I mentioned earlier and the end of the visit or would I need to do Renewal in UK?

Thanks again!

Someone please help!

I am planning to apply for a standard visitors visa (academics) or Temporary Work – Government Authorised Exchange visa (for sponsored researcherer) - (not even sure which one to go for yet) in September or thereabout for a Postdoctoral research visit for 12 months in UK. My question is about my Passport which expires in 13 September 2023 but the suppose visit would end 30 September 2023. Do I need to renew my passport in order to have the whole period of visit/visa covered in the passport or I should go ahead and apply with the passport that would expire before my visit ends?

Please I need your advice. Thanks in advance.

Shits so happen for that Il city, one just needs to be careful.

There was a time a cab carried a friend from campus to town(Tanke). On getting home to check his laptop, laptop has changed to car footmat. Another scenerio is some people do pose as Aflas just to jazz innocent souls with miracles like fire burning on water so as to dupe them of their possessions. Kidnapping among some strange cabs around Taiwo - General park too.

EducationRe: Should I Continue With Mathematics Or Write JAMB To Study Computer Science? by tolats(m): 5:32pm On Jan 10, 2019
My advice is simple. There's none of the courses you wouldn't practice what you love. The point is you must go for higher degrees or professional course if you really wanna practice programming through academics. I'm in the system so I know how it goes.
Talking about job opportunities, the chances are the same with the first degree certificate be it maths or computer science but with personal and professional experience, you would earn big. You don't even have to work under anybody. In summary, stick to what you've started. We still have some universities that graduate students in maths and computer as a course.

If you need more advice, quote or mention me
