DerideGull: I knew this line, “Thank God Benin Republic is also part of western Nigerian”, is a sure thing that will come from a Yoruba peep when the talk of national conference thickens. It has been Itsekiri are Yoruba and now Benin Republic is part of western region of Nigeria. I guess you have to deal with Dokubo Asari in order to claim Benin Republic.

[b]O Christmas Tree

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging;
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging;
Not only green when summer's
here,
But also when 'tis cold and drear.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Much pleasure thou can'st give
me;
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Much pleasure thou can'st give
me;
How often has the Christmas tree
Afforded me the greatest glee!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Much pleasure thou can'st give
me.

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly!
From base to summit, gay and
bright,
There's only splendor for the
sight.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
Thy candles shine so brightly!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
How richly God has decked thee!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas
Tree!
How richly God has decked thee!
Thou bidst us true and faithful
be,
And trust in God unchangingly.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas

How richly God has decked

Politics › Re: Akinwumi Adesina Wins Forbes 2013 Person Of The Year by Tolexander: 7:58pm On Dec 04, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: @Tolexander.. I wonder why tribalists like you are wasting energy on this issue. That was really unnecessary. Forbes did not make Adeshina man of the year because of what he achieved in 1900. The reasons Forbes crowned Adeshina man of the year 2013 was stated clearly. Read the reasons in the report below:

"Forbes, who made the announcement this week, said Adesina won the prize for his bold reforms in Nigeria’s agriculture sector.
The magazine said Mr Adesina has empowered more than six million farmers across Nigeria to embrace agriculture as a business"
http://www.ghanabusinessnews.com/2013/12/04/forbes-names-nigerias-agric-minister-2013-africa-person/

As as much as you hate the president because he's not from your tribe and love Adeshina because he is your tribesman, dont forget that GEJ made him a minister of agriculture and supported him to achieve all that he is able to achieve, including the Forbes award.

Dont forget that before GEJ came to power, a certain OBJ was president for 8 years and never looked in the direction of Adeshina. Afterwards, a certain Yar Adua was president for about 3 years and also didn't look in the direction of Adeshina.

You guys should quit hating.
guess you don miss road?

So it is now tribalistic to post the profile of a person on nairaland.

Continue in your delusion!

Family › My Uncle's Inlaw Requests For A Laptop As Bride Price by Tolexander(op): 3:49pm On Dec 04, 2013
When i posted the list of a bride price from a family friend in April, many people didn't believe. But it was real and wasn't joking.
https://www.nairaland.com/1258549/imagine-requesting-laptop-part-bride

Wonder, they say shall never cease ending.
Just saw a list from our inlaw to be this afternoon containing the bride price, thought it is going to be the normal traditional bride price being requested from the family of their future son-in-law.

When i viewed the list, the price aren't that many but what gave me the utmost surprise is the presence of an hp laptop and it was written before it in bracket that the brand of hp laptop presented will determine the value we place on their daughter.

What so much suprises me is that life is getting much of technology, should our culture also be allowed to go technological cos i don't understand why our cultural status quo can't be retained.
