Politics › Re: See How Nigerians Are Reacting To The Saraki Debacle On Twitter by toluene2016(m): 4:08pm On Sep 18, 2015 |
Eziachi: Nigerians are their own worst enemies especially the so called masses who are supposed to be the main victims of corruption by politicians and civil servants.
You now have a government through their actions and body language has empowered all agencies of the State to do what the law has empowered them to do but all you get was negative comments riddled with innuendos, conspiracy theories and abject stupidity. Why would I care if Saraki is being witchhunted for being corrupt? I said the same during OBJs period that if you don't want to be witchhunted, please keep your nose clean and there will be nothing to witch hunt you with.
The very first place a witch hunted victim want to be is the court. So how can you be running away from the court and also screaming witch hunting too? Innocent man supposed to love the court and not using court to prevent self going to another court to defend yourself.
In true democratic climate, people willingly resign from their position, so as to have all the time in the world to clear their name. If Saraki is using a corrupt court injunction to stop self appearing before a court of law, what right has he got making laws and for him? What again is the job the court, if not to punish the guilty and set the innocent free? The judges the issues this injunctions stopping courts, politics and other agencies from doing their job deserve to be stoned. Bill Clinton was a sitting president when prosecutor Kenneth Starr questioned him over Monica Lewinsky to established if he had prejured himself. He did say am the president, I got immunity or approach so corrupt judges to issue immunity from being questioned.
What moral has Saraki got now asking any person or bodies to appear before any Senate investigative committee to answer questions? My worst anger are reserved for the idiotic conspiracy theorists going on about APC or Tinubu. When does the two controls the judiciary or the anti corrupt agencies? Wasn't Tinubu himself docked for operating a foreign account which he appeared and defended himself and the case was struck out for lack of merit? Why didn't Tinubu use his supposed almighty power then to prevent his own trial? Or use it to prevent Saraki being the Senate president? How can anyone be so daft and bereft?
Some idiots are shouting "why now"? So why not now? Does crime has expiring date? 70 years after the 2nd world war Nazi criminals are still being persecuted for their crimes, so why should a crime committed few years ago be declared as expired because everything in Nigeria is political black and white? Haha!!
What does you Nigerians want? Do you love corruption or just pretend to hate it? If you hate corruption why do you always make excuses for criminals irrespective of their positions; they equally stole through all sorts of electoral malpractices? No one has ever said that a robber was being witch hunted by the police or his robbery crime has expired and asking police "why now". How many of you will support a robber that got injunction preventing the police from questioning or arrest him? Or even preventing the court for summoning him for trial? But these guys are worse than normal armed robbers.
What a country and what a people!! A crooked and cursed people!!. this is a brilliant write-up well done! |

Politics › Anyaoku Begs President Buhari Not To Probe Jonathan by toluene2016(op): 9:37am On Jul 16, 2015*. Modified: 9:55am On Jul 16, 2015 |
A panic-stricken former President Goodluck Jonathan has sent former Commonwealth Secretary General, Emeka Anyaoku, to plead with President Muhammadu Buhari not to launch an official probe of his administration.
Several sources in Abuja, including aides of President Buhari, briefed SaharaReporters exclusively about former President Jonathan’s dispatch of Mr. Anyaoku as an emissary to his successor.
One of our sources said Mr. Jonathan moved quickly to send powerful intercessors to the Presidency after the Buhari administration began to question massive last-minute withdrawals and disappearance of more than $20 billion in government funds orchestrated by former President Jonathan as well as his closest ministers and aides.
One source familiar with Mr. Anyaoku’s desperate mission to President Buhari revealed that the former Commonwealth chief executive urged the new president to remember that Mr. Jonathan voluntarily decided not to contest the results of the March 28, 2015 presidential election, won by Mr. Buhari, on the understanding that he and his administration would not be subjected to a probe.
Our sources disclosed that Mr. Anyaoku spent a little more than two hours in a close-door meeting yesterday where he sought to prevail on President Buhari to halt the ongoing probe of what happened to billions of public funds during the last few months of the Jonathan government.
Before imploring Mr. Anyaoku to plead with President Buhari, Mr. Jonathan had also asked former military head of state, Abdulsalam Abubakar, to speak to the current president and suggest a suspension of all ongoing probes. Mr. Buhari has put in place several investigative committees to probe the illicit withdrawal and disbursement of public funds by the Jonathan administration. The presidential committees are charged with advising the administration on strategies for retrieving any public assets stolen by officials and cohorts of the Jonathan Presidency.
One of the committees has already discovered that Mr. Jonathan and some members of his cabinet apparently colluded in the dying days of the previous government to loot billions of dollars. The funds were looted via the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the Ministry of Finance, the Nigerian Maritime Authority, the Federal Capital Territory, and several other departments. A source within the investigative committee revealed that Mr. Jonathan and his closest aides and political appointees made illegal withdrawals of funds to finance his failed bid for re-election. Former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has stated that former President Jonathan asked her to withdraw more than $1.2 billion from the excess crude account. Even though Mrs. Okonji-Iweala continues to maintain publicly that she did nothing wrong during her tenure, a source told SaharaReporters that the former minister, who coordinated economic affairs during the former president’s tenure, has been quietly cooperative with the Buhari administration. According to the source, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala has offered what amounts to a dossier of corrupt deals authorized by the former president.
In an attempt to curry favor with the new government, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala recently directed officials of her polling agency, NOI Polls, to give President Buhari a 70% approval rating among Nigerians. “The polling results were simply cooked up,” a professional pollster told SaharaReporters. Prior to the 2015 general elections, the former minister’s fake polling organization kept repeating that Mr. Jonathan approval rating was up even as his political fortune plummeted.
SaharaReporters also learned that former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, is also actively cooperating with the Buhari administration. As earlier revealed by us, Mrs. Alison-Madueke had struck a deal with the new government to submit a document to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) exposing her collaborators at the NNPC. The former Petroleum minister, who was one of the closest cabinet members to Mr. Jonathan—and the mastermind of numerous money laundering deals on behalf of the former president—currently shuttles between the UK and Switzerland. A source close to Mrs. Alison-Madueke said the former minister was receiving treatment in the UK related to breast cancer.
After emerging from his marathon meeting with Mr. Buhari yesterday, Mr. Anyaoku claimed that he had visited to offer “advice” to the president regarding his forthcoming official trip to the US. Mr. Buhari is scheduled to start his US trip on Sunday. A source at the Presidency told SaharaReporters that Mr. Anyaoku had misrepresented the purpose of his visit. “The elder statesman [Anyaoku] did not come to advise Mr. President about the trip to the US. The plans for the trip were already concluded a while ago, with all logistics and programming support,” the source added.
Former President Jonathan is currently in Abuja where he remains in constant touch with Abdulsalam Abubakar and other political players to prevail on President Buhari to halt the probe of his administration.
One source at the Presidency revealed that Mr. Buhari was not receptive to Mr. Anyaoku’s pleas. According to the source, the president told the former Commonwealth chief executive that the massive theft of funds by officials of the previous administration had robbed him of funds to start meeting his promises to the Nigerian people. “The president’s concern is for everybody who stole funds, including the former president, to disclose their willingness to return their loot to the Nigerian people,” the source added.

I can't stop laffing.
So Nnamdi kunnu no get mouth at all.
Look below.
Smart Igbos They believe in one nigeria and are benefiting from it. A few of them are listed below.
T.A Orji
Very much hated by the people of Abia state and majority of igbos for the way they believe he governed the state. The unity of Nigeria has seen him become a senator of the populous black nation. The clamour for biafra makes no sense to him cos he's enjoying immunity.
Phyno
Sings with Olamide and Lil kesh who are yoruba boys or better yet nigerians. This enables him smile to the bank. He won't want a biafran country where his fan base will be limited to his brothers alone.
Precious Chikwendu
A beauty queen who now dates Femi fani-kayode, a man hated by the igbos for reeling out the names of igbo woman he has dated before. If she cares about biafra and hates yorubas as directed by Nnamdi Kanu, she won't have the opportunity to be in a relationship with a handsome former minister of aviation. Wise girl.
Ekweremadu
I don't think the deputy senate president of the federal republic of nigeria would entertain any talk of biafra when he's currently living large in abuja. A man of that position stands a better chance of clamouring for biafra.
Mikel Obi
The green white green jersey saw him rise to being a superstar. He can never regret playing for the Zoo. If asked to choose between the Zoo and Biafran national team, he'll certainly choose the Zoo over and over again.
bianca ojukwu
She is the wife of the late biafra warlord, Ojukwu. She's currently representing the Zoo as an ambassador in spain. She definitely doesn't see herself as a biafran because of the bumper pay she receives from the Zoo.
Ojukwu
Fought against his country in a war that saw him lose nothing less than 2million of his tribesmen. When the heat of the war was unbearable, He fled to abidjan to cool off with some chilled palm wine while watching abidjan girls dance makoosa. He returned to nigeria to reclaim his properties while his tribes men had theirs declared abandoned properties. Maybe that's why his tribesmen didn't vote for him when he later contested for presidency in thesame country he fought against. He got a military burial. Sharp man.
Nnamdi Kanu
Lives in london and flies about with a passport giving to him by the Zoo.
....
Gullible igbos
These ones blame all their failures on Nigeria which they call a Zoo. They wake up every morning to recite the Zoo's national anthem and salute the Zoo's flag hoisted in every banks, schools and institution in their beloved biafra. When filling a form, they state the Zoo as their nationality. They voted massively in the Zoo's last election. The Zoo pays their men who work for them. Even with all of these and many more, they still think they aren't also baboons in the Zoo they call Nigeria.
I believe if they were as rich as the smart igbos mentioned above, biafra would be the last thing on their lips.
God bless SW, SE, SS, NW, NE and NC.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, will this week begin the trial of subsidy thieves in the country. According to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Muhammed Adoke, the trial of subsidy thieves will begin this week. While briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Adoke said the EFCC would be prosecuting those found culpable in the report of the House of Representatives Committee on subsidy regime. The revelation by the AGF, who spoke on the outcome of a meeting of representatives of the three arms of government on corruption which held at the instance of President Goodluck Jonathan, perhaps put paid to fears that the subsidy report would be compromised following the bribery scandal involving chairman of the subsidy probe panel, Farouk Lawan, and a businessman, Femi Otedola. Otedola had alleged that Lawan put him under pressure for a $3m bribe, out of which $620,000 had been paid to the lawmaker. Lawan who confessed to collecting the bribe money however claimed that he only did so in order to expose the businessman. ceometromedia: http://www.metronaija.com/2015/07/efcc-set-to-commence-prosecution-of.html I'm sure the MOD that moved this to Front page didn't read the bolded part. Family › 3 Ways You Unknowingly Destroy Your Children’s Self-esteem by toluene2016(op): 8:52am On Jul 11, 2015 |
“Mom, I’m starting a new piano song! Will you sit by me?” my youngest son asks. I walk in and sit down at the piano bench.
When he starts new songs, he likes me nearby. A bright smile flashes across his face and he starts playing. After a few mistakes his smile fades and a frown appears. I sense his growing discouragement. From my perspective the song is quite simple, it is easy for me. I almost say, “Oh come on this is easy, you can do it.” Instead I pause and think, “What I say will make my son feel encouraged which helps his self-esteem grow or cause discouragement which can lower his self-esteem. The choice rests with me.”
Parent’s want their children to grow up self- confident and capable. Sometimes without even realizing it, your responses may be doing the exact opposite which lowers your children’s self-esteem.
1 - Saying “It’s easy” When your children are struggling with a task, it may seem easy to you, however, it is not necessarily easy to them. When you say, “That is easy, you can do it.” You are trying to motivate and encourage them, yet it causes your children to think, “Something must be wrong with me because it’s not easy to me, therefore, I must be dumb.” This causes your children to feel discouraged and want to give up. It decreases their self-esteem. Instead tell them, “This can be tough or this is difficult.” Then if your children complete the task, they tell themselves, “I did something hard.” If they cannot figure it out, at least they know it was tough to begin with. This approach helps children stay encouraged and increases their feelings of self-worth.
2 - Doing too much for them Your children want to do tasks on their own. This gives them a great sense of accomplishment and helps them feel good about themselves. You may feel one way to show your love is doing things for your children. This robs them of the opportunity to learn life skills and the satisfaction of feeling independent. It sends your children the hidden message, “You are not capable.” Instead of doing too much for your children, break the task into smaller more kid-friendly tasks. This gives your children the chance to feel the personal satisfaction of completing it on their own. Their self-esteem will soar.
3 - Freaking out when they make mistakes Mistakes are part of life – we all make them. You may feel you need to rescue your children from making mistakes or help them avoid making mistakes. This does not help them – it cripples them for life . Your children will make mistakes and the way you respond either helps your children learn and grow from the mistake or teaches them mistakes are bad. Mistakes are painful, but they can cause great growth if handled in a healthy way. Don’t rob your children of the opportunity to rise to the occasion, admit they are wrong, fix the problem, and feel great about themselves. Instead of freaking out when your children make a mistake, teach them how to make amends and be accountable for their actions.
This promotes a healthy view of mistakes and allows your children to feel good about who they are. Many parents do not realize these three parenting responses diminish their children’s self-esteem.
If some of these ideas are new to you – take heart because reading and learning shows you are interested in improving as a parent and doing the best you can.

Politics › Re: Why I regret campaigning for Change- Opinion by toluene2016(m): 10:43pm On Jul 10, 2015 |
cramjones: It is about time every right thinking Nigeria begin to think of an alternative country to live in. Apart from the civil war, the last 6 years have been an unending war in Nigeria. How can any sane person think of building a future in a country where your life can be cut short at any moment? How can you call a country home where you cannot even succeed financially and walk the streets freely, or even have your family walk freely. A good example is my dear friend Chimamanda the whole world celebrates, yet her country rewarded her by kidnapping her father. Or is it Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who was rewarded by kidnapping her 82 year old fragile mom. Or is it the professor that was rewarded by being brutally murdered in the comfort of his home?
Why should any sane person keep thinking of living in Nigeria, when they campainged for CHANGE, when all the get is mass killings every other day? We do not blame PMB for the menace taking place in Nigeria, why should we even blame him? the travails of this country has really eaten deep. Why should anyone be proud of Nigeria, when Femi Fani-Kayode or is it Olukayode announed to the whole world that he will now be going abroad for his long over due medical checkup. Do we even have hospitals that can take care of anything anymore? Why should anyone keep dreaming of an illusionary Nigerian dream, when if the President gets a heart attack he will die within hours, for their is no hospital in the whole country with a standard ICU and with capabilities for cardiac stenting or catheterization.
A country where dead people lie on the street of Lagos, with no scintilla of help or emergency services by state! A country where people empty their account just go give birth "abroad" and make their children escape the horrors and de nove disadvantage of being a full Nigerian citizen. A country where mass killings have been made the norm with no state official commenting on over 500 innocent souls that have been killed in the past one month. A country despite the massive potentials and wealth still wallows in disease, corruption, kidnapping, poverty and everything bad.
Truth be told, Nigeria has become a sinking ship, and needs to drown or fall off the cliff and then rebuilt again. For our youths to reach their full potential it is imperative for them to have their own revolution! Or at least start thinking of the nearest next African country to call home. Nigeria is a cooking hallogen gas in a hot air ballon that is about to pop and kill. It is coming, it must come, it is here!
In summary, I hate Jonthan, I will give PMB a chance to save this sinking ship. Nevertheless, I won't have campainged for CHANGE but for a massive revolution.
-CramJones with this your write-ups it seem to me that you believe the best you can do for the country is to get the right people to rule... while this is very necessary please note that the work of nation building is the responsibility of all stakeholders i.e. including the citizens therefore you also have a part to play. Though it may be difficult you don't have to quit you don't have to give up. Quitting is never a solution to a problem I still believe you did the right thing campaigning for change |

lolaxavier: As with the fabulous smiting and magical eloquence that talking drums, ‘ilu', such as bata, gangan, sere, sakara and gudu-gudu have accorded the Yoruba music industry, the Igbo's have equally enjoyed the overwhelming effect of Ekwe, Udu and Igba in the Igbo music scene. Interestingly, the exhilarating sounds of those drums combined with the enchanting soulful voices of musicians have made Nigerian music what they were back in the days. Nowadays, the so-called reigning Nigerian songs are gradually lacking the power to inspire, as someone recently put ‘they are more of nuisance than inspiration which they're meant to be', contemporary songs in the Nigerian music world nowadays often lack rhythm, tone, symphony, good voice and soothing words. In short, they are simply becoming an unbecoming.
Below are musicians that really rocked it back in the days. Trust me, you will surely have that nostalgic feeling if you had the opportunity to sing to these songs back then. good old days |
Politics › Re: How TAMBUWAL Betrayed Tinubu, Begs For Forgiveness!! by toluene2016(m): 2:49pm On Jul 09, 2015 |
citizenisb: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/speakership-race-tinubu-turns-back-on-tambuwal-for-betraying-gbajabiamila/214183/
According to online news medium, The Will, Tinubu, who played host to Tambuwal at his Asokro residence in Abuja, a fortnight after the speakership election in which Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila lost to Hon Yakubu Dogara, told Tambuwal that “with what you did to Femi in the House, you have severed the umbilical cord joining you with the South-West.”
Tinubu, a source revealed, was in company of some Northern members of the APC when the ex Speaker came calling. “Did you people in the House do this in anticipation of 2019…It is too early. You should allow this government to succeed,” Tinubu was quoted as saying. In an emotion laden voice, Tinubu reminded the Sokoto State governor of the role Gbajabiamila played in his emergence as Speaker in 2011. It was common knowledge that Tinubu, persuaded by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, had started galvanising support for former House Leader, Hon Mulikat Adeola-Akande in the immediate past 7th National Assembly. But when Gbajabiamila rushed to him with the name of Tambuwal, he quickly accepted.
Before doing so, he prodded Gbajabiamila on whether Tambuwal can be trusted and the former acquiesced. Gbajabiamila even had additional praise for the ex Speaker, saying if it is intelligence and competence, then Tambuwal is undoubtedly the man. The APC leader decried how Tambuwal stampeded Gov. Abdulazeez Yari of Zamfara State into cajoling members from his state to vote against Gbajabiamila.
Openly chastised, Tambuwal hurriedly pleaded with Tinubu to drop the matter, saying ” it appears this is not a good time to come and see you,. I’ll come back again some other time.”
It was gathered that Tinubu was miffed by Tambuwal’s betrayal of Gbajabiamila not only because of the role he played in his emergence as Speaker in 2011 but because of his influence to secure the governorship ticket of Sokoto for him.
Initially, Tambuwal’s predecessor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, had preferred and worked for a relative of his to succeed him. But Tinubu prevailed on him to give it to Tambuwal, arguing that it will be unfair to leave the incumbent governor in the lurch after his travails in the hands of the PDP.
The source added that it was Tinubu who purchased the N21 million nomination form for Tambuwal to run for the presidency as his thought was that should Buhari decide to step down, Tambuwal would have been drafted in his place. "You should allow this government to succeed,” ---Tinubu |

I was @ECOBANK badagry earlier today to collect my BVN number, and I witnessed first hand the drama and ensued between you and the CSM. I noticed that your account of the story was not exactely what happened. I would have chose to overlook it when I saw it on nairaland, but for prosterity sake I would say the real truth.
That was not true, he was attending to an elderly man and there was a queue before you which you jumped (I was the 3rd guy on the queue). Yes he ignored you for few seconds, but you didn't tell us that you were the one who snapped at him first not the other way round.
Totally false he NEVER called you a goat, or fling any card at you. I was there, you snapped at him first saying that he should answer you first before following the queue, and the reason you gave was that you had been looking for him since yesterday although he raised his voice at you, while trying to explain to you to follow the queue.
True.
That was not the reason he gave. He said he won't apologize to you because he was not wrong. .
Lies.
Please, please I understand you are hurt cos you weren't attended to on time but that does not mean you should go about spreading falsehoods and whining like a spoilt selfish kid. There were people you met at the bank follow the queue and you will be attended to, you are not more special than the rest of us.
Honestly she sound like a spoilt selfish kid. one thing I've learnt is that there are 3 versions/sides for every story/report.... your side, their side and the truth.... though your report seem nice but...how are we so sure it is the truth and not just your own version of the story?.... just saying |
