Oblang:The way he talks...... |
What a stupid and wayward analysis |
Sweet memories on display here I really love this. |
The truth is Olufemi Olukayode omo Fani knows how to play by the rules stand him out above Fayose. However, you cannot rule out the fact that Fayose depends more on God and also has a prophetess as a wife for direction. FFK is a man of facts, he says it as it is without mincing words. Blunt to a fault. |
Stainlessq:But this same Soyinka was live at the show today. I thought he ought to have boycotted the party. |

FG saves N500bn through implementation of Single Treasury Account akintayo eribake 3 years ago Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala The federal government saved about N500 billion in unutilized funds last year through the implementation of the Single Treasury Account (TSA). TSA is a unified structure of government bank accounts that gives a consolidated view of government cash resources. It is a system, whereby all monies belonging to the government are domiciled in one account with the Central Bank of Nigeria, with payments out and collection into the account done via an electronic payment platform. The TSA became operational in 2012 with focus on payments, with a pilot phase involving 217 ministries, department and agencies (MDAs) in Abuja. Last year, the implementation was extended to all MDAs outside Abuja, hence all federal government related payments were executed via an electronic payment platform, Remita, an indegineous software developed by Systemspecs, a Nigerian software development company. Vanguard investigation reveals that the extension of the epayment for government services under the TSA resulted into about N500 billion savings for the federal government in the form of unutilized funds under the 2014 budget. A source close to the TSA project confirmed this development to Vanguard. Speaking on condition of anonymity, he said that the N500 billion asegfqwould have been spent by the MDAs but they could not do so last year because of the use of electronic payment under the TSA. “You know with the e-payment, you cannot just collect money from the treasury, you have to go through the e-payment platform. The process requires you state who is collecting the money and why the money is being collected, and other information which would later be used to trace the money during audit. This helped curtailed misappropriation of funds and embezzlement which are conducted under various guises,” he said. According to Alhaji Salawu Adeku Zubairu, Director (Fiscal Account & Cash Mgt.) Funds Dept; Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, one of the objectives of implementing the TSA, is to “iincrease internal controls to prevent and detect potential and actual fraud.” Speaking on the implementation of the TSA, in a paper delivered at an e-payment conference, he said, “While this started with lots of resistance, many MDAs have come to appreciate the positive impact on their payment process. MDAs are now able to process transactions on their own taking responsibility and accountable for budget spending. The TSA has resulted into major reduction in Way and Means from CBN with funds saved used for other projects. It has also enhanced prompt disbursement of funds and payment to beneficiaries; and timely reporting of transactions, account balance and financial statement making it easy to monitor budget performance for decision making”. Meanwhile, the Federal government will this week release a circular and enlightenment booklet on the implementation of the electronic collection of revenue (e-Revenue) aspect of the TSA. Though the e-Revenue was scheduled to commence second quarter of last year, the implementation started in December with a pilot phase involving selected MDAs. Following the success of the pilot phase the federal government commenced full implementation on January 1st this year, with a directive to all MDAs to close all revenue accounts with banks by February 28. The circular and a booklet of Frequently Asked Questions on the new electronic revenue collection regime, which would be will be available at the registration desks of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and project members’ banks, are aimed at enlightening the public and all interested stakeholders on the usage of electronic revenue collection platform aimed at checking theft, diversion of collected revenue and all sorts of corrupt practices associated with revenue collection. Speaking last week at a workshop designed to sensitize MDAs to the commencement of the electronic revenue collection project. Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Jonah Otunla said that the implementation of the project which kicked-off on January 1, would enthrone a new regime of centralized, transparent and accountable internally generated revenue management system. As such, he asked that the balances in the revenue accounts should be transferred to the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federal Government, stating further that any MDA that failed to comply with the directive by the end of February would be sanctioned. Otunla said the new platform would improve the availability of funds for financing of developmental projects and budgets as well as plugging loopholes in government revenue collection and management. The commencement of the e-collection platform, he informed, was a product of series of treasury reforms that began in 2012 and aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of the nation’s resources. According to him, the reforms have led to the introduction of the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System and the Treasury Single Account. “We have rolled out the GIFMIS and TSA implementation. At inception, a total of 93 agencies were enrolled and as of today, we have about 551, which is about three quarter of the total budget of the federation. ”We have yet to realise the full potential of the reforms. Some big budget MDAs to with the National Assembly, National Judicial Council, the armed forces and some other autonomous agencies have been reluctant to be brought into the GIFMIS and TSA process. ”The implication of this is that substantial cash resources of the government are still lying idle at a time when our cash flow is facing a lot of challenges. In the face of the cash flow problem, we need to be more creative. We can enhance the performance of the budget by either improving revenue or reducing costs.” https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/fg-saves-n500bn-through-implementation-of-single-treasury-account/amp/ |
MKO ABIOLA AWARD: Prof. Segun Awosanyo analysis. (Is this administration thinking?) The kudos starved admin just need something to be celebrated for, thus the hunt for sentimental issues to placate and since we have a village of shallow zombies seeking to hail for a fee, there will always be a win win situation within the conundrum. #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG Been holding back from lecturing anyone on the implication of this but I guess you all should hear it and tag your aspirants for a free political and statecraft lecture on the house. This wasn’t thought through and the President must be held liable for this bad precedent. If not that the president and his cronies enjoy divisive antics, what stops him from making this recommendation to @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR for him to get their collective input?some of the major players of June 12 are still alive, what was their input in this pronouncement? Those who said this is deserving are very ignorant. Posthumous National honor of this nature is only reserved for troops who paid an ultimate price in battle. People who died in a coup if military etc Chief Abiola’s case is complex and controversial at the same time. He wasn’t a President. He presumably won the annulled election and technically committed Treason by declaring and parading himself President. This was what actually got him arrested by Abacha. Before you haul stones at me...breathe and listen deep. What would have happened in the country if @GEJonathan had made this primitive and politically sensitive declaration? Do you think we’ll still have a country? Babagana Kingibe also has a bad record with NIA. Are we now rewarding crime with national honors for political advantage? We have been plunged as a nation into validating criminality. And come 2019 anyone who feels he was cheated out of the election can now freely declare themselves president and hope to be a national hero someday. Secondly, expect a SE/SS leader to honor Ojukwu, Kanu & Asari Dokubo, this is the trajectory we have found ourselvesin where GCFR, GCON have been reduced to tokens of seeking political advantages while demeaning our political institutions and ethics of leadership in our society. Mark these words and you will say I told you so. This is Tragic. The failure of this administration will start showing in this regard when the June 12 Brigade starts to demand Presidential entitlement of Chief MKO Abiola. Now that we have recognized him as Past President by the conferment of GCFR. Can someone help them calculate this...? Don’t forget to calculate for Babagana Kingibe as well based on the recognition as the substantive former VP and GCON. Then ask yourself if this administration is thinking at all. Police have gone rogue just like other security chiefs and people are still dying daily then this! You can clearly see why The Fulani Militia are untouchable. Criminality has been Validated in Nigeria. It is no longer hidden. Long Live the Federal Republic Of Nigeria. I hope those whose sentiments were tickled will think deep. Just saying it as it is. I stand with Nigeria. That being said it was well played. Politicians will never see it my way. This is not because it’s not a superior argument but because anyone who fights this may be seen as an enemy of the SW. so checkmate. NASS will have to play along. It’s like a mosquito on the testicles. In fairness to the @HouseNGR, Hon. Wale Raji Moved the Motion on the declaration of June 12 as the National Democracy Day by President Muhammed Buhari. He expressed sadness that successive Governments since 1999 refused to acknowledge June 12 as Democracy day. He commended President @MBuhari for the action & urged INEC to release the remaining results of the June 12, 1993 General Elections & publicly declare the winner. Hon. Kayode Oladele stated that June 12 1993 is a watershed in the Nigeria's history as it was the success of cumulative efforts at trying to return the Nation to democracy. He Expressed regret that the success however was not let to see the light of day. Hon. Chris Azubogu stated that the name of Prof. Humphrey Nwosu who chaired the Electoral Umpire at the time and against threat to his life tried to show the way the election went was conspicuously absent on the list of Honorary Award beneficiaries. He expressed the hope to see his name on the list of Honorary Award beneficiaries. Hon. Edward Pwajok stated that the Public Holiday Acts will need to be Amended to change the date from May 29th to June 12. He stated however that Chief M.K.O Abiola cannot be declared a President of Nigeria as he was never declared by the then NEC, nor was he ever sworn in as President. The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon @YakubDogara sought clarification on the Court Order restraining the then NEC from releasing the remainder of the election process. And also to find out if Chief M.K.O Abiola can be declared former President by Presidential Decree? Hon. Ossai Nicholas spoke against the Motion that the Powers of the Legislature was circumvented by the Presidency. He pointed to the Exclusive Legislative List in creating Public Holidays Act, which he stated is in the purview of the National Assembly and not the Executive, the Speaker however clarified that the National Assembly had Amended the Act and given the President leave to set aside a date for celebrating Public Holiday, but a schedule in the Act makes the declaration be in contradiction to Section 2. Hon. Ahman-Pategi Aliyu in speaking against the Motion stated that the President can only Amend the Public Holiday Act by a Bill and not by declaration. The Speaker referred the Motion to the House Committees on Justice and Rules and Business to explain to the House. See what I mean? This is far more complex than the premature celebration of sentimentalist. This is a country/Republic and must be run as such in a Democracy. https://www.headlinetracks.info/2018/06/mko-abiola-award-prof-segun-awosanyo.html?m=1 |
I totally align with Keyamo on this one, Obasanjo took himself too seriously based on the "Yes Man" attitudes of most Nigerians, in saner climes people of his types are not even seen in public domain let alone within corridors of power. As much as Buhari is a disaster and a rejected one, Obasanjo needs to shut his mouth and watch as Nigerians decide her future. If you ask me, from 1999 till date, Obasanjo/Atiku administration is still the best government we had. |
meobizy:Noooo but a place of better connection, patronage and expansion business wise and career wise if well utilized like I revealed in the thread |
Ladies and gentlement, the final test of how credible, reasonable, reliable and trustworthy the party, APC, is about to be proven as they prepare to select the executives who will pilot the affairs of the party in the next 4 years......... even if I don't know anything, I am too sure of one thing that this coming convention will be the final burial site of APC.......the CPC elements within the party will have it all leaving out the ACN and APGA elements and before some clowns here start to throw insults up and down, I make bold to say that Fashola, Fayemi, Shittu and other disgruntled ones like Oshiomole are already in the CPC camp of the party. Thank you as we all relax with our peanuts and juice watching the APC interesting melodrama called CONVENTION! |
DaBullIT:I guess you were in motion or just glanced through the post I will therefore suggest you take time to read and understand the post so that your mind can be detached from seeing Jonathan, Jonathan, when in actual sense, Buhari is the disaster here for playing politics of full blown dullness on sensitive issues of this magnitude. |
This is how you know a useless President with no reasonable way out to Nigeria's problem. As for Obasanjo, I do not pity him. It shall never be well with those who forced Buhari on innocent Nigerians. |
EXCLUSIVE: How Buhari plunged Nigeria into N2.7 trillion mess while spiting Jonathan - Premium Times . On Tuesday, a U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. gave judgment affirming a $6.59 billion arbitral award, plus $2.30 billion interest, against Nigeria. The judgment was given after the country failed to show up in court to defend the matter. The naira value of the amount came to about N2.7 trillion (at the Central Bank of Nigeria’s rate of N306 to one U.S Dollar). Just as the judgment was handed down, PREMIUM TIMES became aware that the country would have paid less than 10 per cent of the $8.9 billion award if the Muhammadu Buhari administration had acted in line with the recommendation passed to it by the preceding Goodluck Jonathan regime. But rather than take the recommended action, the Buhari administration scorned at the settlement agreement its predecessor signed with Process & Industrial Development Limited (P&ID), the engineering firm fighting Nigeria for breach of contract. Official documents reviewed by PREMIUM TIMES show that a government negotiation team constituted by Mr. Jonathan successfully negotiated an out-of-tribunal settlement with P&ID and got the company to accept an $850 million payment, about 9.6 per cent of the $8.9billion award. However, the present administration ignored that settlement and rather asked its lawyers to return to the tribunal to further contest the engineering firm’s claims. The tribunal then ruled against Nigeria, awarding $6.6 billion in favour of the British Virgin Island’s firm. The refusal to settle the matter for over five years attracted additional $2.3billion in accumulated interest at seven per cent per annum. The fine followed a dispute over alleged breach of contractual agreement by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Officials familiar with the matter told this newspaper that the Jonathan government hammered out the $850 million agreement with P&ID a few days to the end of its reign. President Jonathan reasoned that since his administration was already a few days away from its exit on May 29, 2015, it was proper not to approve the payment of $850 million to avoid unnecessary suspicion,” one official said, asking not to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/271674-exclusive-how-buhari-plunged-nigeria-into-n2-7-trillion-mess-while-spiting-jonathan.html |
EzeNri:Dial this number, I hope you saved it? |
midolian:I am not sure you can process data into information. Your views are warped already so what sense can I make to a blind supporter of evil. Ekiti is PDP, PDP is Ekiti so stop wasting your little strength on a lost cause |
DeOTR:I aligned with your simple analysis on what is happening to Buhari presently and what he is planning to do in 2019, unfortunately, that will be his end (mark my words). He will spend monies even beyond Jonathan era to buy votes and sympathies but it is already dead on arrival. Nigerians are wiser now. |
#WhereIsThePower
It is in your hand, use it wisely in 2019 by voting out this hunger spreading disaster and hardship embracing entity called Buhari. Now you know where the power is! |
EzeNri:You really get time my brother, me I only have one advice for those Nigerian youth demons who still want this terrible man to continue despite all the indices staring us in the face that Buhari is never capable and will not that they should not be caught rigging on that day. Anytime Atiku will surely floor this disaster called Buhari. |
Buhari and Obasanjo: Let’s Sheath the sword. By Chief Olabode George I have read Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s statement about the threat to his life with conscionable, natural concern. I have also read the presidency’s rejoinder which implied that there is nothing sinister in their motives. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is a man of towering distinction and excellence who ruled this country both as a military head of state and as a civilian president. He is an international figure who is motivated by patriotic fixity. President Muhammadu Buhari is equally a patriot, a gentleman and officer whose totality of vision is about the growth and welfare of our commonwealth. As a military man I know these senior officers very well. I have worked at close quarters with the two of them. I have no doubt about their selfless commitments to our nation. I am appealing to the two personages as a junior officer to sheath their swords and resolve their differences behind the curtain. That is the military style. We don’t wash our dirty linens in the open. Naturally, we can disagree, raise our voices, stamp our feet in disapproval, but never in the open. The essence of the esprit de corps is about mutual felicity and respect for each other. Pray, let’s keep it that way. Nigeria is greater than all of us. In conclusion, for the purpose of clarity and historic objectivity, I write in non-partisan arbitration. The differences of my party with this administration are clear and obvious. We insist on the restructuring of the Nigerian Union to ensure democratic balance, equity, and the ingredients of fairness. On these solid points I remain committed. ⁃ Chief Olabode George ⁃ Atona Odua of Yorubaland. |
zombieHUNTER:Clear your mind from the innuendos you have been seeing about Atiku over the years, he is not what they painted him to be sir in the true sense of it, you can visit this place to clear your doubts bro. https://www.nairaland.com/4336607/why-atiku-best-choice-pdp |
Fayose promised to pay up salaries of Ekiti workers before leaving office so I don't understand these fuss about him still owing workers when he had already schooled as many as possible why that was the case in Ekiti going by the huge debts he inherited from Mr Acada, Fayemi. I love this smart move from Fayose to employ the services of 2,000 youths to make sure election counts because Fayemi and his gangs are not coming for election in Ekiti but are only on a mission to rig! Thank you Fayose for being ahead of your detractors in the scheme of things. |
I have a feeling we might end up having a Buhari and an Atiku situation at the end of the day and this is what will eventually plays out no matter how INEC tries to be funny on that day, Buhari will be booted out of Aso Rock and back to where he truly belongs. Daura. Atiku remains the only Northern candidate who can face this dude |
*Atiku floors Buhari in popular APC supporter’s online poll* . June 8, 2018 --------------------------------------------- Former Vice President of Nigeria and leading presidential hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has emerged winner of a series of polls conducted by alleged loyalists of President Muhammadu Buhari, with the latest being a 6-day Twitter poll by one of his popular trumpeter on social media, Mr. Japheth Omojuwa. . A number of pro-Buhari influencers and supporters had, following the third anniversary of the administration on May 29, initiated polls ostensibly to test the popularity of President Buhari. . However, Atiku trounced Buhari in the earlier polls conducted by Mark Essien via @markessien and Y! Online via @YNaija. The same fate befell Buhari as Atiku defeated the president in the two polls conducted simultaneously by Omojuwa. . In the first poll, Atiku garnered 35% of the votes compared to Buhari’s 32%. Fela Durotoye and Omoyele Sowore, the two other contestants, scored 21% and 12% respectively. In the second poll, Atiku secured 39% of the votes while Buhari came second with 34%. . The other two aspirants, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso scored 18% and 9% respectively. In both polls, respondents were asked: “Who would you vote for President if elections were held today?” Of the total combined votes of 81,065, Atiku secured 29,672 representing a cumulative percentage of 36.6% compared to Buhari’s 26,590 representing 32.8%. . But when results of the polls by the pro-Buhari loyalists are aggregated, it gives Atiku a 9% lead over Buhari with the PDP presidential hopeful securing 41% of the 106,000 votes as opposed to Buhari’s 32%. In the first online poll conducted by Mark Essien, a pro-Buhari influencer, Atiku polled 43% as against Buhari’s 35%. . Blogger and online newspaper publisher, Omoyele Sowore and former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu polled 7% and 15% respectively. An overwhelming majority of the 9,067 respondents voted for Atiku, giving him an 8% edge over President Buhari as at the close of voting. . In the second poll conducted by @YNaija, a youth blog run by Red Media, Atiku handed Buhari a crushing defeat of 70% versus 19%. . The other participants in the poll, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu and Mr. Fela Durotoye polled 6% and 5% respectively. . At the end of the voting of 7,444 respondents, 7 out of every 10 respondents representing about 5,210 settled for Atiku compared to Buhari’s vote of 1,414; Moghalu’s 446 and Durotoye’s 372. . The outcome of the four polls is a reflection of result of the latest poll by NOI/Gallup Poll which saw President Buhari’s rating drop to 41%. . In that NO1/Gallup Poll also, the administration’s 3-year scorecard in the critical sectors that have the greatest impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians, the presumed base of the president were dismal: Economy (16%), Job Creation (15%) and Poverty Alleviation (12%). Already we have a Fulanized Country at hand where everything juicy in the Nigerian Project has virtually been Fulanized and if something hasty is not done to stop this Fulanization Project, Nigeria may cease to exist if The Initiator is returned to power come 2019. Buhari should go and rest in Daura! |

meobizy:Did you read the thread leading post? If yes, you will see why Twitter is better. If not, Twitter brings you closer to whosoever you are following either as a friend or corporation. For instance, you can register a new account on your chosen bank thru Twitter and even access a celebrity you so much love directly and he or she can relate directly with you without hiccups. Can you achieve these on Nairaland? |
meobizy:Because it is obvious that you failed to read and understand the thread's leading post. |
alex81:Is this really necessary? I don't know why some of you folks behave like something I can't even quantify........ |
The story of Abiola scheming to the top at all cost should be a lesson to all. |
